I like this Savers more than the one in Ellisville. The prices on books and media are ridiculously high but everything else seemed in-line with modern thrift prices. My friend found a super cool shortsword for $15 and several unused candles for $5 each! The prices could definitely be lower but I wasn't super dissatisfied. Savers was great when it first opened, have shopped the Crestwood store for years and find it just OK now. The good: large store, wide selection, most areas well-organized and clean, new merchandise stocked regularly. The bad: pricing has gone up up UP! First time at Savers and it didn't not disappoint! It was incredibly busy as it was a Saturday afternoon, but we were lucky enough to find a front row parking spot. I will say some of the items appear to be a little overpriced for it being a thrift store, but I was able to find a trendy winter scarf and 2 oversized men's jackets (one that I plan on wearing over swimsuits and one that is a Lucky brand plaid shirt that is perfect to to over tanks and tees). I typically prefer the men's section over the women's and it is way bigger than Goodwills! read more

Not only have their prices skyrocketed, but they got rude of their dressing rooms forcing you to buy more than you need to "try on at home". They say they have an exchange policy, but it is SO strict. You only have 2 weeks and you have to have original receipt. went to the bathroom and left my cart right outside the door (merchandise is not allowed in the bathroom) and when i came out my cart was gone. i had around $100 of things i wanted to buy in there. i went to the employee room that was right beside the restrooms and asked everyone in there for help. all of them looked at me like i was stupid and said they don't know what happened. didn't even try to help me find it or see if one of their coworkers could've moved it. so i walked to the front of the store and asked someone else. she proceeded to tell me "sorry im on my way to clock out" and didn't even stop walking as i was talking to her. this whole experience made me feel really uncared for as a customer and really let me down. this was my first time at a savers and im thoroughly disappointed. the attitude and treatment of the employees i spoke to resulted in me leaving the store in tears. read more

My daughter and her friend shopped at Savers in Crestwood on Sunday and were treated so poorly by the sales associates. My daughter put her purchases on the counter asked if they took Apple pay, the girl said NO! took the purchases and threw them in the return to rack bin without saying another word Then my daughters friend had a pair if pants that came to $10.91 and she declined them being over her budget. The salesperson literally yelled at her "They are ONLY $10.91!" The manager came over to void the sale and asked why, the salesperson yelled out again "She doesn't have enough money, they're ONLY $10.91!" SMH. We will never go back! read more

I found out about this thrift store driving down the street one day and parking lot was packed! The store is clean and well organized. Employees were friendly; I never leave empty handed and always find one of a kind items! And they always email special offers to save me even more money when i shop there; Store can be addictive! This used to be my favorite thrift store for buying clothes until they got rid of the dressing rooms to try on clothes. If you buy something and want to return it you can only get store credit. I don't understand the point of it as everyone is touching the merchandise anyways as they walk around, so it isn't adding any safety to not allow people to try on clothes. I took my four grandsons shopping for school clothes. they are all at various stages of growth so we weren't sure what sizes would fit. Unfortunately, there are no dressing rooms. The cashier told me that we could try them on at home and return them. She did not tell me that you can only return for an exchange, and you have to spend the money that day. No gift cards,no store credit. I had about $75 worth of things to exchange. Was not going to spend that much again in one day. Guess I'll just have to return a few things at a time. read more

I am giving 3 stars due to organization and price. The store is really nice and tidy, but the price is ridiculous. For example, I checked some tshirts and I was surprised that they charged free random shirts for $6.99. Some tshirts I recognized that you could get for free at events and they still want you to pay $6.99 instead of $1! I also checked some shoes and most of shoes are $14.99. There are signs posted in the store that they have expanded their exchange policy to allow more returns for people to try clothes on at home during Covid. When I went to return clothes, I didn't have my receipt so there is no returns or exchanges allowed. I also learned that even if I had the receipt, I would not get a refund, only store credit. This is really misleading given the posting around the store saying they have an expanded policy. read more

This place is great! An avid thrifter, I'm always thrilled to find a nice, organized and well-lit store to find treasures. This place ticks all the boxes. On my last visit, I was #blessed to find a sweet new pair of neon blue New Balance sneakers, a great pair of Vans, a velcro wallet and some amazing boots for the wife. We both left pretty stoked with what we found. My only complaint is they were a bit too high priced for me, but it's worth it in the end to have a nice, clean store to shop in for once. Our family used to shop for clothing at Savers regularly, but they took away all the dressing rooms. What's worse is that if you buy something & it doesn't fit, you can only get credit. That's CRAZY! This was my first experience with a Savers Thrift store. We just happened to see the billboard as we traveled down Watson. The store is bright and airy. The clothes were organized nicely according to each category- tshirts, short sleeve blouses, long sleeve blouses etc. The racks were not so stuffed that one could not get to see each item. But, the very best part was the personnel. I asked one employee about the plus sizes- besides telling me about how the racks were organized, she walked me to the racks and showed me. We had a chance to talk with the asst manager, Ted (I am pretty sure) and he was very personable and helpful. He said there are Savers stores in the US, Canada, and Australia! We signed up for the Savers card which will allow us to get email offers and we received our little card wihich is stamped with each $5 purchase. There is also a discount on Mondays for the over 55 crowd. We will definitely go to Savers again. Especially during the sales. The company must really stress customer service because everyone was so so accommodating. Check it out!! read more

Personally, I prefer Goodwill because the price are more reasonable and return policy allows for refunds. Bring a donation bag before you shop, you can get a discount coupon for your purchase. Note that currently during covid, changing rooms are closed and the Savers return policy only allows exchanges, no refunds or even store credit to use another day -- ridiculous if you can't even try clothing on! Savers is a nice place to get used items, at a fraction of the retail cost, and reusing items is always good for the environment I do, however, have issue with their "wall of bags" at the end of the store: they do not like to handle small items, so they bag them in goofy combinations with other small items that must be bought together. Other thrift and second hand stores have no issue with small items and merely put those on shelves or in bins. I once wanted a bag of an assortment of soap bars; but it also contained a tube of denture cream. I discretely removed the denture cream, placed it on a shelf, and bought the bag with only soap in it. Perhaps Savers assumes those who wish to buy several bars of soap mush have lost their teeth! read more

This place is sort of a thrift store wet dream with nightmare tendencies. Everything is used; some things more harshly than others. When we went it was very picked over and seemed no different than a Goodwill in the city's limits (we drove 30 minutes to get here expecting somewhat better quality than we saw at stores like St. Vincent's). The quality was overall very low, although there is a whole warehouse-sized store to choose from. We donated a ton of household stuff and clothes and received a 30% off coupon, but honestly it was a stretch to find anything worth buying. Halloween seemed to be a weird focus, and they had these hilarious PA ads when this little guy would get on the mic and say these super cheesy one liners about Halloween. It was so dorky we were falling over ourselves laughing. This one worker lady didn't like how goofy we were being, but F you Becky! You're defending the bottom line of thieves and swindlers! Anyways, if you live in the STL county area, this place is your local thrift store. Hit-or-miss as hell (we missed laughably hard!), but you can find decent bargains on harshly used home goods. Forget about the clothes if you have any standards or self-respect. The shoes seemed to have been stolen from homeless people, which is wrong to do. Shame on you, Saver's, for stealing shoes from those homeless people. We wanted to use that coupon because we knew we'd never return, so we bought a deluxe waffle maker. With the discount, it was $5, which seems roughly fair. If you live in St. Louis city, there is a plethora of good thrift stores with fair prices on their harshly used goods, and I'd say go to any of those before you end up out at this chop shop. Two stars because they have a good business idea (used goods in exchange for store credit), but over-bearing cheesy service people made us feel uncomfortable, and we will not be back. read more

He asked if I wanted a tax receipt (yes) and also pointed out the he wasn't able to accept bike helmets, despite mine being barely used. Polite and efficient. Great! read more
