LJP Construction - Deck was buckling and concrete slabs were shifting when we moved in. Now it's so straight and crisp!

There are so many positives from Chip Price and his crew!…read more Where to start? They're licensed and insured contractors. That's the first thing before requesting work. They had a major few jobs at our house. Several months before that could start, we had a plumbing emergency. Our upstairs bathroom valve went in the middle of the morning before anyone opened. It was leaking everywhere, down to the floor below. We were unable to find the shut off in the basement. I'd called Roto Rooter and several plumbers in a hurry, and got no response or an answering service. Roto Rooter wanted a large fee and would call, to see if they could send someone... when they opened in several hours. Our ceiling was leaking through. I gave LJP Construction, apologized for calling so early, and told them what happened. They sent someone right away to find the shut off and start drying everything out. They were more than reasonable with pricing considering the rush visit. He helped me by showing me how to start the flooring prep myself so it would save us both time and cost when they came to finish and we decided then to update the floor. He helped suggest the best flooring for waterproofing. I bought the floor and parts, and they followed through on finishing the flooring. He then told me how to repair and keep an eye on the ceiling. Several months later, they started the big projects. We needed several busted doors, and windows, replaced. We needed major new foundation and supports for the deck and landing. They finished both jobs wonderfully, crisply, and added concrete stairs per our request. The supports had to be replaced under the deck and they added vinyl sleeves for us to help deter the woodpeckers that had gone after the old ones. The deck was unsafe and buckling when I bought the house. Now it's so nice and straight. We can walk on it! It was quite a feat, but they meticulously did it. The last job was a custom window that was broken before I bought the house. It was custom and took many months to fit and come in. I believe the first one ordered broke and had to be re-ordered. I know with glass this happens a lot so I completely understand. I had put money toward the cost but was pending labor. When it finally came in and was installed, they didn't charge me for the last window install since it took many months beyond the original projects. We're trying to fix up our basement, and they gave me tips on gutting it ourselves to save a bit and said they'd gladly add us in for another project if or when needed. They're all-around great guys and know what they're doing. Construction can be costly but he's up front with pricing and tries to work with you on things you can start or buy ahead that help both parties. I can't say enough good things about them. I will definitely go to them for other repairs or projects in the future. I highly recommend them! I'm trying to gather all my pictures so more pictures to come!

Remodel 2 bathrooms. New showers, toilets and vanity tops and "paint" the existing vanities, paint…read morethe walls. "Paint" our kitchen cabinets, change to soft close hinges, new countertops and backsplash. Paint our laundry room and replace the floor. Paint and install new front door. So let's start off with... No dumpster. All trash piled in our driveway until my husband asked to get it removed. No port o john. 4 grown men using my guest bathroom and making a huge mess. I had to clean the floor twice a day for obvious reasons. 1st day showed up, no saw horses. We had to loan them ours. Materials to start bathroom did not come in so they had 2 people taking out my cabinets to get primed and painted (they were NOT painters). Took everything WITHOUT marking where it went back. Started painting making a huge mess with wrong brushes. Broke my stove top and scratched my dishwasher. Was told the painter would paint outside in a tent. NOPE. Painted outside with a dust storm going on from our dirt road. Painter kept painting and repainting to the point he was running out of paint and thinned it so much my cabinets looked like CHALK. I had to have another company come and pay $3,500 to fix them. Soft close hinges another problem. Still have 4 cabinets that have not been replaced A YEAR LATER. We did get a $275 refund, but the owner basically told my husband off in a very unprofessional text about these hinges. Bathroom shelves have come off twice now. The 1st time, Jared came back and fixed. This time NOT EVEN A RETURN CALL. Vanities painted are a mess also. We are considering replacing which is a shame because they were expensive vanities. We bought the front door, had it delivered. All they had to do was install and paint. We had to get a new sensor at $50 because one of their guys took it apart after we told him we needed 2 way tape. He also drilled a hole in my new door for no reason because the sensor goes on with tape. Bought my own flooring for the laundry room. Was misquoted square footage needed resulting in me paying for extra boxes at a higher price twice. The only thing that came out nice was our countertops. However they DID NOT INSTALL THEM! All tools, materials mess in my kitchen until I told them to clean it up. Would leave bags of garbage in our house over night and over a weekend with food containers in them. It was supposed to take 4 to 5 weeks and it ended up taking 3 months. The experience we had was not like these other reviews. I think we were the practice house. Beware!!
