Came to get my car serviced and was told that there was a complimentary manicure service that I could partake in. Was told it was first come first served by the rep at the service department. So I sat down and waited. And went to look in and saw that the technician was actually servicing the women who worked here ... I thought this was for customers only? I didn't know that preference was given to the employees here? Went to as the nail technician if I could get my nails done and was told that I had to book an appointment. Stampede Toyota has contaminated the refrigerant in the A/C system of our vehicle with R152A. The vehicle was purchased there and has only been serviced and worked on there. Never once has it been taken elsewhere. They have left us in the lurch to get this issue resolved and have refused to take ownership of the issue. I understand that they can not evacuate the contaminated refrigerant as it will contaminate their machine. This is the case for all of the shops that I have contacted around Calgary to try to get us out of this situation. All I asked was for Stampede Toyota to help us find a shop to get the evacuation done and to cover the cost of that work. Stampede Toyota has doubled down and said that "it comes down to a matter of right and wrong". You're right it does, and you are in the wrong. read more

Thought going to a dealership I would have been in the hands of knowledgeable staff. If you have to do all your own research you might as well buy online. I have purchased all of my cars used from a dealership in the past. This was by far the worst experience thus far. NO BLOCK HEATER UNLESS YOU ASK FOR IT. Arjay was the person who sold me the vehicle. I was told the vehicle was from Ontario originally. The car being from Ontario and now being sold in Calgary you would assume it has a block heater. This 2023 Rav4 from Ontario with no block heater was not disclosed before the purchase was made. After the car was having issues starting due to the cold weather after I bought it, I could not find the block heater cord. When I asked Arjay his exact response was "I recall there is no block heater on that car coz it's from BC, if you want a quote on a block heater I can provide one". This is about 5 days after purchase, Even though the carfax say ONTARIO on it. Secondly, the windshield has a chip in it, I told them about it. They told me they would fix it before I pick it up so it doesn't start to spider. I said I was okay with that. The day I was supposed to get the car, word for word I was told "the chip is too small to fix and I need to accept the chip because that's normal." When buying the car, it was 1 year old with 89,000 kms on it. I mentioned that is a lot of kms on it can you do better on the price, outside before test driving "Yes we can do better on the price" Inside when at the desk "Absolutely not the lowest price is asking and we don't make any money on these cars we make our money from the parts." I guess that's why they sold me a car without the block heater lol I am now on my way home for Christmas to visit family in Manitoba where it is -30 overnight in Thompson and I have no block heater in my car. Service staff was nice. I was to be picked up by a shuttle driver at the end of the day to get my car. The driver called and I informed him that my location had changed. He informed me that he couldn't go to that new location and to call the service department. I did. They updated my pickup location and informed me the driver would call when on his way. He did not. I suddenly get a call that he is there ready for me, but I had not been given notice so I wasn't there yet. They cancelled my shuttle and stranded me for the night because I wasn't at my pickup location. They did not give me advance notice of when I would be picked up. Completely unprofessional. read more

I am here for service to my car, which naturally isn't going to be the time of my life but they do have complimentary manicures for customers who's cars are being serviced... I've decided not to take part in a manicure because Cohen is testifying right now... but another customer did look really happy as she left with her nails done... I setup a suggestion box, then suggested massages would definitely help lessen the agony of waiting.... Lol They also have a T.V, complimentary Wifi, coffee (with carefully chosen, responsibly purchased and carefully roasted beans... it says that on the machine), water (with small cups so byob) and a vending machine. DO NOT PURCHASE USED CARS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. EVER! I purchased a used vehicle from Stampede Toyota in 2019. After putting down a deposit I had noticed that in the carfax report there were several quote but not claimed incidents that I hadn't noticed before. I brought this up and told to my face that they "guaranteed the car". Yeah, guaranteed lemon!!! I wanted to walk away from the car buy they gave me the take the car or lose the 1000 deposit ultimatum. But since I made a stink about it, they so generously offered me a extended warranty with bare minimum term. Hint: This is foreshadowing I am wishing, honest to god, that I just walked away from the deposit. But I caved to the "guarantees" their salesman gave me and took the car. Within a year, I kid you not, there was over 8000 dollars worth of repairs that needed to be done. THANKFULLY, because I made a stink I had the extended warranty which covered MOST of it. Was still on the hook for a couple thousand, and I shudder to think what woulda happened if I did not have that warranty. Or I would, if that very scenario did not happen as soon as the warranty expired. Transmission died in November, cars undrivable, and will cost $5000 to replace (probably more, lets be real here). So its not being replaced. And worst part is, I still have over 1 year and $3500 dollars on the loan so I can't even get RID of the bloody thing. Just sits there taunting my sorry ass. This dealership, knowingly, let me pay 13000 for a very expensive nightmare and now a very expensive brick. I tired calling and got the run around, and based on other experiences posted here its very obvious that they don't give a hoot about bad customer experiences so I don't expect a response. This is a warning to future buyers. I can't speak to their new car buying experience, but based on my existing experience, I will never buy another car from them new or used. read more

I love having new vehicles and have dealt with many dealerships and advisors. Until this week, my favorite dealership was Sunridge Nissan. However, Tim Collette, Service Advisor at Stampede Toyota, has changed that. This particular dealership did not stand out of the crowd until Tim went out of his way to make my life easier. I had to give up my car for 24hrs, which I absolutely must use for work. He made a significant effort to accommodate my needs, called me numerous times to ensure I was well informed and reassured that I would be taken care of. All in all, Tim gave me the warm and fuzzies and I also ended up with a washed vehicle (which Toyota doesn't do every time) and extra car detailing treats. The fact that this happened all at once just made my day and will change my attitude toward everyone there for each future visit. Tim rocks! read more

I used to go here all the time but since they moved their location is very difficult to access. They have 1 person working at the parts desk and with trying to get in and out of there I decided waiting 10min was long enough. The people at the front desk were nice though and always say "hi" and "goodbye" to me. ---Updated 2015-06-08---- Since my initial review two years ago I have to say that they have definitely made an improvement on their customer service side. To elaborate, I had some issues removing tar from my car's wheel and bumper areas. I brought it to them and they had suggested I do a bronze cleaning and they would remove the tar for me. Upon getting my car I noticed not all the tar had been removed. Since I had already removed insurance on it at that point (storing for winter) they offered to fix it again for me in the spring. When spring came I brought the car back to them. It took a couple more tries but the service manager handled the issue personally after I had contacted him. He wasted no time in picking up my car from my work and getting the shop supervisor together to handle it. They brought it back a few hours later and it looks like a million bucks again. First time ever someone was so unprofessional over the phone and actually compared asking for a different colour of a vehicle to asking for a "different engagement ring after accepting a marriage proposal from him"!!! What?!?!?!?!? Such a ridiculous thing to say to a customer and how dare you!?! Apparently $30K at this dealership can`t get the salespeople to even bother looking up if the colour I want is available. And even if the colour isn't available, didn`t ask for the moon from the skies, it is what it is; at least pretend to try to look for it. I'm ok to pay a premium for good service, as long as I get professional service, but it was horrible and if you think you can talk to a customer like that, I am not sure if good service is at all available here. read more

In comparison to the other places we went to, Stampede Toyota proved that their service is exemplary and that they have a team of sales, finance and service staff to keep their customers happy. Heath in sales went above and beyond to ensure that we got exactly what was promised in our 2019 C-HR XLE Limited. We appreciated his honesty, straightforward sales style, sense of humour and felt that he listened to what we wanted rather than push for just another sale. Also worth mentioning was Paul, who did the final walk through and checklist with us on pickup day. Even though we had done lots of reading and YouTube-ing about the features on our new car, it was great to get some reassurance and answers from Paul about what we most needed to know. Went to numerous Toyotal dealerships in Alberta, Country Hills and Cochrane. Country hills treated me like an uniformed idiot even though I told the salesman I have been driving Toyotos since 1997- I being a woman wasn't appreciative of their looking their nose down at me. Cochrane I visited while in the area and had to call back on a number of occassions to find out when the 2019 Hybrid Rav 4 was coming in and the Sales Manager never did get back to me. As I was driving down Barlow Trail there was Stampede Toyota from whom I had purchased my 1997 Rav 4 from, so decided to stop in. What a wonderful welcome from the ladies at the front. I informed them what type of sales person I was looking and had the Sales manager come out and told me who l would be dealing with. The female person that help me with the purchase of my car (it had to be ordered from the factory) was out of this world, helpful and thoughtful. I received my car two weeks before she thought it would arrive. They were wonderful with the financing and walking me through the features of this beautiful vehicle. Am going in on Wednesday to get my first service. I will post again about the service. I appreciate this opportunity to be able to make comments.. read more

I can comment on the service side. I asked them to do Out Of Province Vehicle Inspections for me (they charge 180$ in total for that), and they wanted to fail me because my rear breaks thickness were missing 0.1 mm!!! my car is in a very good condition and I have just changed the front breaks. Tell me how many cars in Alberta are not missing 0.1 mm in the rear break. Then they said we fix it for u for 400$, and I said I want to take it to another mechanic and they said OK but it will cost u an additional 50$ when u return it because our technician has to check if the mechanic has done a good job!! but I still wanted to go somewhere else and all of a sudden they said oh we maid a mistake, it is 300$ to change the rear breaks! you judge. Out Of Province Vehicle Inspections is a dirty business here, because when u go by a mechanic to do it for u they charge u about 180$ just for that, and for sure they will find sth in ur car so that u pay them to fix it for u, and u have no way out of it because if u want another mechanic to do the OofP for u, he will charge u another 180$ as well. So u have to stick to the first mechanic u go to and he sets the game rules for u then! read more

This is the worst auto service place I've ever been to (and I've been to places in BC, Ontario and BC). An employee at parts promised me an automatic door opener within two weeks. I got there two weeks later to be told he had gone on vacation. I was told to come back two weeks later, again. I did and rather than apologizing, the mechanic I spoke to was rude to me and got upset at me for asking why it was taking so long. I demanded they get my part so that I can get another dealer to install it. Their part did not work. Stampede first refused to pay me back for the part let alone the labour at that other dealership until I insisted. They only paid me back the part though. And oh, they reimbursed me but the manager was so incompetent, the reimbursement wasn't the full amount (I bought the device when the GST was 7% and he only reimbursed me at 6%). Small change but it adds up when you realize how much time these people cost me. And yes, it's been almost two years but their service was so bad and their attitude so rude, that I have never forgotten them and want to make sure everyone knows how awful their service is. Please whatever you do, don't go near this place. Country Hills Toyota is much better and they are only 20 minutes North and West on Deerfoot. read more

They don't want to negotiate price just your payments so if your interest rate is low they take home the savings from you building good credit for yourself. After two days of negotiating a highlander with William and getting with in 15 dollars of a monthly payment his manager calls and say it was a mistake and is now for 6 yrs adding another almost 4000 dollars to the bill. Within a week when I drove only 75KM, I noticed that my front wheel tire has a hole and there is a temporary patch filled there. I went to the dealer and they completely denied that they gave me a car like that, also the manager behave very bad and put a blame on me that I made that hole somehow and went to some mechanic and fix it from there. So my recommendation is that if they give you few hundred $ less price don't buy from them. read more

We recently had our 4 runner serviced at Stampede Toyota. The vehicle had routine maintenance completed, inspection and car wash. When the vehicle was picked up, I was provided the necessary paper of what had been completed and that there were no issues found. After bringing the vehicle home, we noticed that the car wash had left a large amount of wax residue that dirt stuck to. This issue was mainly located on the roof, but also affected the hood chrome pieces and a couple of side panels. This required me to vigorously hand scrub those areas to remove the build up. The chrome pieces required hours of scrubbing to revive it. The rock chips that were touched up with the wrong color. For a service that costs $275, it was poorly executed. Lastly, I picked up the vehicle during the day so the headlights weren't in use. When it got dark out, the headlights turned on and I realized the passenger one was out. I found this odd because the inspection showed that it was working earlier in the day. On the way home from work I stopped at the closest auto shop and purchased a new bulb. Once installed, the light still didn't work. I visually inspected the harness and light bulb and there didn't seem to be anything wrong with it. The following day, I began trouble shooting as to why the light wasn't working. I followed the owners manuel to the fuse box under the hood to check the fuse. To my surprise, not only was the fuse not broken, it was non existent! I was able to use one of the extra fuses provided to replace the missing one, and the light worked fine. I had to return to the automotive store in order to get refunded for the bulbs I had purchased. This situation is a concern because as anyone knows, a fuse doesn't just fall out and disappear in a secured fuse box. It makes me wonder what I would've been charged to "fix" the light. I know that the fuse was removed during the service because the headlight was working before it was dropped off. There's no reason why the fuse should've been missing unless the inspector forgot to put it back in during the inspection. If that was the case, then it should've been noticed while completing the maintenance service inspection report. It clearly shows that both headlights were working on the report. Whether the issue with the fuse was purposely done or missed because of laziness, I know that when I pick up my vehicle after a service, it should be in the same, if not better condition. My main concerns being the fuse, cleanliness of the vehicle and fixed paint chips. It makes me question the work that I'm not able to check on my own without the proper equipment. I doubt that the work I paid for wasn't done correctly, but it does leave me feeling uneasy. read more

Absolutely terrible service.... Brought my car in for an oil change at 8am, when checking my car in the advisor asked me if I would be staying at the dealership or if I would need a shuttle. Me thinking that it is just a simple oil change and won't take too long I decided to stay at the dealership (also brought my daughter because I promised her we would have a daddy-daughter day). 1 hour went by, much of the people who arrived at the same time as me had already left, it was busy so I didn't think anything of it. An hour later I started to get concerned because I did not hear anything. At 10:30 I asked the same advisor what was going on with my car, he then told me that it was booked as an all day job and probably won't be done until 3, do you think that would have been communicated to me at time of drop off? NO. 10:45 I told him I want my car back because I didn't want my day to be ruined. But somehow I was told that my car was just brought into the shop and would take around 30 mins. Finally I got my car back around 12 and when I asked for an explanation as to why this took so long I was not offered an apology, but the advisor blamed ME because apparently I booked the appointment wrong. I got in contact with the Service Manager and explained my problem, he told me he would get back to me the next day, I have not heard from them since. Went in to have shocks replaced and break pads, spent over $1900! I received a call saying "your vehicle is ready, but we RIPPED OFF YOUR SPOILER! What?? How does that even happen? A while later we discovered the back window washer fluid nozzle was cracked and was leaking blue fluid and ruining the interior. They are not taking responsibility for this whatsoever or even attempting to remedy the situation. I personally will not be back! read more

Bought a new car from here. At about 500 km while on deerfoot noticed something was wrong with the tires. It had a leak appearently, thank goodness someone was able to switch to a spear. Brought the tire into the closest store, which was kal tire and they tell me the tire has been patched, which I replied impossible. Brought it back to Stampede, Adam the manager said impossible. Then he checked and said, oh yeah we did give you one that has been repaired. I was a customer at this dealership for close to twenty years. Not only did I purchase vehicles from Stampede, I was also a regular customer of their service department and parts department, spending on average about 2500 dollars per year in their service department. I recently took my Camry in for service and was instructed that my steering RACK was leaking and needed to be replaced, together with my high pressure steering hose. I informed Stampede that two previous shops had indicated to me that the leak was simply the high pressure hose, not the steering RACK, and asked them to check this again. Not only were they not responsive to these requests, they made it seem very clear that they felt that my car was "old". After multiple requests for a quotation to repair the problem, no quote was forthcoming (???). Dennis, the service manager indicated he would check the car out, and later left me a message indicating that he would be too busy to accept phone calls but that the problem "might be the steering box". They never did give me a quote. I pulled my car from the shop and took the it to Carline Muffler in the NE (a shop that I would highly recommend) who promptly replaced the high pressure hose at a reasonable price. There has been no leak since that time....there was never a problem with the steering rack, and neither Dennis the service manager, nor their sales manager ever bothered to call me back. Don't waste your time with Stampede....they don't care....and haven't for many years. And this is very unfortunate as it used to be the only shop I would deal with. Go anywhere else...they are at best uncaring, and at worst, incompetent. read more

Worst place I have had my car serviced at in my entire adult life. I went in for an oil change and to inquire if I need a timing belt. Was told that I needed both, yet I needed to leave the car overnight, although I dropped it at around noon. They gave me a ride home and after they realized at 2-3 pm that the car did not need a belt (uses chains) they told me that could not pick me up as it was during rushing hour (at 3 pm??? on a Wed). Promised to pick me up first thing in the morning. It is now almost noon and have not picked me up, despite more promises. This wouldn't have been ironic if I wouldn't have heard them complain that they were a bit slow business wise. 2 days for an oil change must be a record of some sort. read more

My experience thus far has been terrible. I was very miss led. This was my first time buying a new car and I was excited. The things I wanted most they didn't have so they tried to put me in something else. I gave them a deposit to see a vehicle that had to be brought from Edmonton with no cost to me. My sales rep couldn't seem to offer anything extra or enticing to convince me. So I went to another Toyota dealer, Country Hills and had the best experience ever and got what I was looking for and more with a better bi-weekly payment plan. I went back to Stampede Toyota to get my deposit back as had been promised to me if I didn't like what they had or we couldn't come to an agreement. The refund was promised the whole way through our discussions. When I went to get my refund which was only 5 days since we were talking they wouldn't return it. I had not signed a contract or anything. It was considered a fee for spending time with me. The sales manager that spoke to me was very rude, condescending and laughing. It was a very humiliating experience. They have not done a thing to improve the reputation of car sales people and I know they did not follow any ethical codes set by AMVIC. (Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council). I have now file a complaint with AMVIC to investigate there behavior and maybe they can help. BUYER BEWARE OF STAMPEDE TOYOTA. read more
