You know that saying " I wouldn't bring my DOG, there"? Don't. While they are perfectly happy to try to up charge anything to 'make your pet comfortable', they insist on countless tests, meds, and office visits. The more you balk at all the extraordinary and ridiculous coaxing, the more they explain how 'if you really cared about your pet.....'. I am absolutely disgusted by their latest act. We had to euthanize our rescue dog, whom we got from a meth addict, and who had lived in a car for YEARS. No one knew his age, clearly he had been abused, and clearly had been hit by a car months before we took him. After already spending close to $2,700.00 JUST to make him comfortable, we had him for 5 years. During which time he saw another vet the last two years. When I tearily called to let them know that he was no longer happy, and was clearly in pain, they told me that he would have to 1. Be seen by the vet. 2. Have testing to verify that he should be put down, and 3. That THEY would make the decision. Not us, with whom he'd lived. Oh no! The VET would determine his fate. The next evening, we had a vet to the house, and had him KINDLY and HUMANELY sent up to see his brothers in doggy heaven. Just stay away from these MONSTERS. And, by the way? The reason he wasn't brought back to 4 paws, was because of a snide, nasty, and rude comment from one of the office staff. I hope she never has to feel the panic, pain, disgust, heart ache, and fury we felt.

After a few additional minutes the rude staff member came back out and said they are refusing to see my cat who has a UTI and possible Kidney infection. Immediately my cousin told me that this was the best school for dogs in the area. She was right that is for sure! My husband and I started taking our puppy to Rhodes Collar immediately and worked with Michelle on dog obedience skills in both private lessons and group classes. Curtis was able to get involved in a group class entitled Good Citizen Skills. He passed the class thanks to the excellent training from Michelle and owner Glenna and there continued patience with us as new owners of Curtis. We are still taking classes with Michelle and working on more advanced skills now, we really enjoy the classes. The staff are all amazing, Linda helps Curtis with the after school program, she is incredible, Maureen is amazing and helps with so many areas of running the school, Rileigh is also amazing and helps us when we need to board Curtis though Custom Care. We feel 100% confident that our puppy is safe and treated well when we go away, we get pictures and videos of everything he does at school like report cards or when boarding at a staff's home. Staff are always available in a on text and honestly this school is so amazing that my husband and I agree we are better dog owners since going to Rhodes Collar, we plan to be long time customers and are forever grateful to them. I always took the advice of Dr. Otka when it came to the care of my 15-year-old Carin Terrier. I have had many animals in my lifetime and have been fortunate to have had the care of incredibly passionate veterinarians. This is the worse experience I have ever had. The morning of my dogs passing, although they were open Dr. Otka would not take my call and two years later never called to apologize or send his condolences. Dr. Otka and I had discussed many times how he would be willing to come to my house if needed to take care of my dog's final care ANYTIME! He said he was more than willing to do so. He has been a disappointment to say the least. A bad character is marked by selfishness, arrogance, and a person who puts their personal interests above ethical consideration. This is a perfectly polite way to describe Dr. Otka.
