I reviewed on google and immediately got blocked. don't trust the google reviews. the woman at the front desk is clearly not a people nor dog person. they were extremely rude to my husband upon his arrival with his moms dogs for a hair cut. you would have thought my husband was walking into her house on her personal time. my husband explained he can be a little anxious but is friendly. the woman just rolled her eyes. she takes the leash and abruply scoops the dog up which made the dog start to wiggle in her hands. she immediately drops the dog down and hands the leash back to my husband and says "nope, not doing this" and sends him on his way. i would never trust this place with mine or anyone else's animals. lady is clearly in the wrong field of work read more

Really the only place in the area that will take wiley cats and groom them, trim them, and do a super fantastic job.

My dogs shampoo was changed, without telling me. All came home fine, then itching horribly the next day, plus rashy. I was told to bring them back for oatmeal baths, which I did. I was told a vet was not needed, repeatively. The oatmeal bath did nothing, so I did go to the vet. My vet was furious. He said changing shampoo is like suddenly changing their diet. He also added, I should have been told the day, I picked them up. Not when a problem developed. All three ended up on antibiotics, as the itching had broken the skin. Also an allergy med. was given, to stop the itching which it did. The total cost for the vet and med was $250!! Not to mention the grooming fee and tip! I would NOT recommend this groomer. read more

Fiest before I get into my review I would like to address a complaint that could have easily been taken care of by just speaking to the owner of Sables, Kim. I am sure she would have handeled the complaint herself to make sure it doesn't happen again. I am talking about the two clients who complained about the receptionist. First of all put yourself in Kim's shoes who is there to accommodate her clients the best she can from the time they make the phone call to make an appointment until they walk out of her Salon with their pet. That is why she has been in business so long. You have to know that the fact you were not pleased with the conduct of the receptionist then posting it on reviews is not going to change a thing with how the receptionist handles business on her end if Kim is out back grooming & unaware of the problem.. Kim is the only one who can do that. If you had only called or spoke to Kim personally the second client who had a similar complaint would not have had a complaint because Kim would have addressed the problem so it would be in the past. If you owned a business of any kind I am sure you would have liked to have been told about the situation & correct it before folks go viral so to speak where people who have no idea what the business is like just start downgrading the individual who is in charge. Is that what you would want as a business owner? Kim never had any idea that one or more customers were unhappy which is sad because had she known then there wouldn't have been a complaint from the second person. Some people don't think twice about complaining or who is hurt by it. If you go out to dinner & have a fabulous dinner & atmosphere but you didn't like the server or maybe the way the bartender handles themselves, then it is only fair to both the establishment & person serving you to take it up with whoever is in charge & let them handle it. It isn't only the server you hurt but every person responsible for making your dining experience a pleasure. I hope if you read this maybe you will think twice before you start complaining about anything until you take the time & comfront the person in charge. So so many innocent people are effected by this. Now back to Sables & Kim & her implodes. From the first time I made an appointment as a total stranger to now, Kim & her staff have been the most accommodating to me & always so nice. I think Kim is a real sweet & has worked very hard to make such a nice business for herself & family. Also the first dog I brought to her was my sweet little Maltese. Well let's say I guess he got a little bit or I should say a lot overgrown with his cotton like hair that you just have to stay on top of it & I didn't . I took him in to Kim & may have said I would like a puppy cut but if he is too matted I understood & do what you have to. I for sure expected him to be shaved as much as I was hoping not but when I saw him he was just beautiful standing there wagging his tail. She did all of that matted coat of his by hand. I just was flabbergasted when I saw that as I know first hand just how hard she had to work & the patience she had when anyone else would have buzzed him. She promised me nothing just said she would try. She is the absolute best & I have recommended Sables Salon to many people. As a matter of fact the reason I decided to write this review was because I went to her Website to find her phone # as I left my phone somewhere & my son had just asked me to see if I could take his Golden Retriever in to be groomed. By the way the last time I took him there he bolted from me & fortunately a couple of young boys cought him. And that receptionist you spoke of not being up to your standards, was most likely the young girl who told me that the next time I bring my son's dog in she or someone would come out & get him for me! Did I fail to mention that when I was a relatively new client our sweet Golden who was closer to a puppy in age went out somewhere & found the biggest mud hole he could & I don't have to say anymore. The next morning Kim on her day off said she would give him a bath & a brush out as she had to go in and clean anyway. She sure mad a lasting customer that day. Also whenever I call they never refuse me & I feel she & her girls treat me just as good as her scheduled customers. See I always groomed, bathed & trimmed my dogs because I enjoyed it until I had my Maltese so then Kim would fix him all up handsome & I would try to keep him in shape for a few mo. when I would have to give in & Kim would make him all cute again. I know I'm crazy but I truly love to do what I can for them even if it means clip a nail or 2 if I am lucky with a treat after each nail. Now I have a 5 mo old sm puppy that I am working with to teach him all the extra things I didn't have the time for earlier in my life. We are doing great & he is a quick learner. Horrible experience. After having just moved to the area I took both of my American eskimos to Sable Salon for a bath, nail trim, teeth brush and hair cut. After I picked them up they looked as if they were only bathed and barely any hair cut. Obvious places where I really wanted them cleaned up like around their face and ears and legs looked like it wasn't even touched. Frustrated I called back and said I was hoping for more of a haircut and asked if I could bring them back to be touched up. Kim seemed a little annoyed with this but told me I could. When I brought the dogs back I had a photo so I could show her what I wanted. As I'm trying to point out certain areas, Kim starts taking my dogs and walking away completely tuning me out. After I left, I realized I didn't get a chance to ask what time I needed to pick up my dogs so I called back and left a message asking for a phone call to know what time they closed by. At 2:15 she calls me and says they are ready and she closes at 3:15 and that's what time I needed to be there by. Her hours are not posted online or anywhere and I've never had a groomer tell me they close at "3:15". By the time I could get the dogs it was 3:30. When I pulled up with my sister in law she had locked the doors and had to let us in. When we walked in she didn't say a word to us- just went to get my dogs. When she brought they out they had a noticeable haircut and I immediately saw little areas on their body where it was uneven. However, I've had them groomed numerous times and know it's not going to be perfect. She asked how they looked and I said they looked good and left. Looking back on it now I wish I had looked at them more before we left because as soon as I was halfway home I noticed both of their faces were completely jagged cut and uneven. I got them home and realized this was everywhere. I have included photos of the face to show how bad it looks. There is no way a professional groomer that has been around for so long would think that it looks good or even close to okay. I'm not sure if Kim cut them or had someone else but I will never go back. I even called the next day (since she closed at 3:15) the same day and left a message. I said how unhappy I was with it and that I would like a refund since I will now have to take them somewhere else and spend more money to have it fixed. Kim has not returned my phone call. read more

The receptionist had little if any interest in being accommodating. I dropped off my dog and all she had to say was " we'll call you.... probably a couple of hours". We have been taking our dog here for a year and a half. At first the service was fine but in the last 3 visits the owner has become increasingly miserable, unfriendly, and doesnt seem to care about our dog. She's short with us when we ask questions and every time he comes back from his grooming he is traumatized and doesnt act like his usual happy self. The owner does not appear to be happy in this line of work and it shows with her attitude and actions towards us and our dog. read more

Recently moved to the area and needed our mini schnauzer groomed. I was not impressed with the receptionist/groomer who made no effort to welcome a new client. I asked for a short schnauzer cut. What I got was a scissor trim that was inconsistent and looked unprofessional. I will be going somewhere else next time. read more

Consistently good. Reasonably priced. Quick turnaround. Knows how to trim according to breed. We've been there more than 50 times and never an issue. Would recommend to any dog owner. Kim is also open on Saturdays and will take appointments last minute if necessary. read more

We've been taking our dog to Sables for 13 years. Kim worked with us to develop a hairstyle for our adorable mutt. Our dog is not the easiest client and never once has she been burned or nipped. We actually drive a long way out of way to take our dog to Sables because we just don't trust anyone else. The prices are very reasonable. read more
