Ron was very communicative from the start. It was a really big challenge finding someone who had time to do some wall mount TV installations before October as it seems the industry is booked solid right now. The next challenge being that I've never used a service like this before and you really don't know what you're going to get or the experience you'll have until the jobs complete. I called many at least a half dozen places with all being booked until one referred me to S.O.S. and Ron. I had in my mind a pretty challenging installation with a gallery LG GX 77-inch TV that literally sits flush with the wall. I wanted him to also run cables through the wall down to my media console for the perfect clean look. I then additionally wanted two more TV mounts with one of them having in wall cabling as well. The experience - Ron showed up (on-time, on a Sunday, at 8am). He was extremely meticulous in his measurements and calculations for the LG GX gallery. The way he laid out his tools on a blanket and took care to walk around my carpets showed a level of care that I honestly didn't expect. Between the GX and the other two TVs it was a full day affair which I didn't mind as they were working the entire time. My installs turned out amazing. I am so happy I found these guys and will quickly recommend them to anyone needing this service. Stay away from BestBuy and go with some local pros. I had two large flat screens and soundbar bars that I wanted mounted. I read a bunch of reviews, put a few feelers out there, and kept coming back to Ron Shaby, the owner of SOS. When I spoke to Ron, he was polite, professional, and thorough. When he arrived for the consult, he walked through the house and then gave me my options. He could have up sold me on the T.V. Mounts selling me the top of the line mounts, but instead suggested I go with a well made standard mount for both rooms at a fraction of the cost. On the day of the installation, Ron showed up with his assistant. With a ton of gear in tow, he looked like he was equipped with anything he might need. Moving everything out of the way, laying blankets down to work on, they got to work. Everything was measured, level and perfect. He even vacuumed after he completed the job. He takes tremendous pride in his work and it shows. Very ethical and pleasant, he is quick to answer a text and he is knowledgeable about all things A/V related. Simply put, Ron is amazing. He came out in December 2018 to install a new Sonos sound system (3 amps) in my mom's home as her surprise Christmas present. He not only did superb work, but explained things to me as he was working. He labeled all of the connections properly, tested everything, trained me on how to use the Sonos app for multiple zones, and was exceptionally tidy. In February 2019, one of the amps went wonky, and Ron was at the ready to assist over the phone (we were getting some type of deep thumping sound from one of the zone speakers, and we thought it was the amp). Turns out that Ron had us contact Sonos since we were still under warranty, and Sonos sent us a new amp. Once received, Ron was, once again, at the ready to assist. He came to the house a couple of days later, tested everything out (including the troublesome zone speakers), installed the new amp, retested everything, re-set up our Sonos app, and renamed it, too...per my request. I can't even express how happy I am with Ron and his work. Electronics aren't perfect, but Ron is close to perfect. He understands that I'm not a techie, but puts things in layman terms for me to understand so I can then teach my mom. He also doesn't make me feel bad for calling on him to reinstall an amp, when he could have just walked me through it over the phone. If you're the type that would have preferred him to walk you through it over the phone, though, he would have been extremely happy to oblige. Ron - thanks for everything. We were referred to Ron and SOS from a friend and are so grateful for it. The work was fantastic and being in Rons company is a pleasure. He problem solved on the fly when we discovered some wonky work from previous electricians and took in stride our last second change of plans and additions. Mounted tv's, internet runs, PoE splitters... he worked with us on the whole house beforehand and was very patient in explaining our options and suggesting a plan of action. Ron was the only person who was able to successfully connect our new 4K LG OLED 65" TV to our very old Pioneer receiver, Directv Genie 2, Netflix and Amazon Prime. He also did a sound check with our 8 speaker Surround Sound setup. He simplified the setup so we don't have to use three different remotes with lots of toggling back and forth with the inputs. Everything looks and sounds fantastic. Wireless Bluetooth headphones also work great with all the different platforms. Found Ron through yelp and thought it was a no brainier with all the positive reviews. But all you people with 5 stars need to double check you bills because I got completely ripped off. Ron billed me $1400 to hang one TV and conceal the wires for it, conceal wires for another TV that was already hung, and run wires for rear surrounds 1/2 in my attic and 1/2 in wire channels stuck to my walls. On top of that he charged me $600 for materials, which he looked me in the eye and swore he was not marking up a bit. A few days after he left I looked closer at the materials and cables he use and realized I was flat out robbed. He charged me $93 for a toslink cable that cost $6.00! My tv doesn't even have an optical output. Ron noticed this oversight after the waited were plastered in place and suggested I buy a converter to get it to work. For $2k it should work before you leave my house....sorry. His last name should be Shady. Really...check your bills and I bet he robbed you too. Ron went above and beyond for my Surround Sound and TV mounting. I had a pretty tough job that I was a bit stressed out about. I had previously hired someone else to help me out and while they got halfway through they just weren't able to do what I had envisioned. They basically told me "no one is going to be able to do what you are asking". I took a shot at using Ron as a last ditch effort to help me out and it was easy for him to see what I was asking for and make it work. The thing I was most appreciative of and why I decided to write a review was that after his job was done and I had already paid him, Ron still took the time weeks and months after to patiently take my calls and walk me through things so I would understand different parts of what he had installed at my place. For example...I was having problems with my AppleTV and I thought maybe it was an issue with how he installed it. Turns out it was an issue with my Apple account, but Ron still spent an extra hour+ on the phone with me and calling Apple support to make sure I was happy, he did all this without charging or accepting additional payment. As far as pricing I don't know the market too well but his price seemed fair and was better than the first people I hired who couldn't finish the work. Well the future arrived in the form of two massive TVs that needed to be hung, one of which was going on a non-standard wall (used to be an outside wall before then was converted as part of a house addition into an interior wall). We had an amazing experience with Ron. First of all, he was responsive and we were able to schedule consult with him immediately. He was upfront about his availability, which we appreciated. He was able to schedule us in less than 2 weeks of the consult, which in the grand scheme of things, was not bad at all. Our mount was quite challenging because it needed to be mounted on a rock fireplace. We found that most mounters do not provide this service, so we were grateful that Ron had the experience and creativity to do this. He took our input into consideration and was able to come up with the most reasonable way to mount our 65" TV and mask the wires without having to cut through drywall and make it into a huge project. We got a mount that lowers and tilts. It looks so much better than what's in the picture. The only good thing I can say is that the guy has a professional approach and good handwriting. He came to my home to give me an estimate on hanging two flat screens with existing mounts on the wall. He would have to adjust the brackets on the tv part. I would supply the HDMI CABLES, the optical cable. (Which came to 27.00.) His written estimate.....remember, NO MATERIALS... Was $895.00. FLABBERGASTED. to say the least. I hired a TV mount specialist through TASKRABBIT which is insured for 1,000,000. For any damage. The job took and hour and a half and cost me $70. To program my two remotes and troubleshoot (our 895 guy did not have the program because he said it was antique...not true. The professional software is still available on line to AV licensed specialists. ) Anyway that was 25.00. Grand total was 95.00 labor. 30 parts. read more

I should say from the outset, at first, I wasn't entirely happy with my install. And it was my own fault. I DID NOT LISTEN TO RON'S ADVICE. I mention this only to emphasize that you should listen to Ron's advice. He knows what he's talking about and he will get you better quality mounts and other parts for less than you did when you were trying to be clever at Costco or online or whatever. Ron tried to talk me out of it, but I was stubborn. He made it work though, and I'm REALLY happy with the end result. So here are the things that are very important to me about Ron and SOS: 1) He is exceedingly polite. 2) He is prompt. 3) He does exceptionally good work. Less important to me, but still very relevant: 4) His prices are better than fair, they're REALLY good. On Sunday, I bought a TV mount at Costco and one of those goofy overpriced do-it-yourself in-wall cable hiders from Best Buy. After putting some giant holes in my wall and realizing there was no way I was going to get this done all by myself, I started looking on Yelp for TV installers or handymen to undo the damage I caused and actually get my TV up on the wall properly. I found a bunch of people and companies that claimed they were open on Sundays, but actually weren't. But Ron responded quickly, managed to fit in an estimate on his way to another job (he's in high demand, which is a great sign). He took a look at what I'd broken, figured out what needed doing, and a few minutes later I had a written quote, a scheduled appointment, and a handshake. And for the actual install? I actually don't have much to say about it. Ron and his crew showed up on time, did everything he said he'd do, and left my house in better shape (and cleaner!) than he found it. Incidentally, now a few days later, I'm finally getting responses for the other handymen and companies I asked for quotes on Sunday, and most of them were more expensive and from people who are NOT licensed/bonded. I've hired Ron three times over the past year to help with my TV sets and other A/V products. Each time Ron has been on time, come up with some good ideas that I hadn't thought about and best of all, everything works exactly as it's supposed to! Most recently Ron helped set up a universal controller with seven items, from a TV set to game console. After calling the manufacturer and connecting everything he came over to confirm that everything worked. When it didn't, he spent over an hour talking the situation through with customer service, knowing the right questions to ask and at the end of the day, everything worked perfectly. We contacted Ron to have the RING Security System installed at our house given the rising crime rate in Los Angeles and the need to protect ourselves in an increasingly dangerous world. I completely respect that the work amount exceeded the estimated cost but Ron kept to the bond of his contract and charged us only the original estimate.
