I then realized that there was a mistake and the bus had left at 9 AM that same day, or nearly 12 hours after I was booking it. Yes I realize that I should have been more careful but I also didn't think that an automated system would let me book a bus that had already left. I called the next day to let them know about the error and they offered to put us on to the 9 AM bus as we had intended to book. That would have been fine except that we were still almost two hours away in Calgary. Then the fun began. After many, many questions I asked that the money be refunded. The person on the phone agreed. Four e-mails and a number of calls later, still no refund. I now have to get the credit card company involved. No integrity or service here.

With his clipboard showing 12 paid customers, the driver/guide arrived in a van with seats for 11 passengers(!). After he finally realized his miscalculation, he called the WMA office. Following a 45 minute wait, a taxi arrived to take the 12th passenger to the ski resort behind the van. The web page description indicates a 2.5 hour trip on snowshoes. Including the gondola and chairlift rides up the mountain and frequent stops to explain how to use snowshoes, walk in them, recover from a fall, break for cocoa and cookies (provided by WMA), detailed descriptions of continental divides, local fauna and wild animals, the total actual snowshoeing time was probably just over one hour. For a beginner, this is probably ok but any experienced snowshoer will be unsatisfied. The terrain is varied, expansive and beautiful; our beginning altitude was 7875 feet, descending c. 1000 feet to the gondola ride back to the van. The guide was very nice and is expansions clear.

Kelly was kind enough to drop what he was doing, reassured us. and found the ring within 10 minutes (it had fallen in the emergency break slot). He made sure I was well taken care of and felt genuine and sincere. He didn't even take any sort of payment from us. Highly recommend this place and cannot thank him enough for his quality service!! When I went to OK Tire here in Okotoks I found the crew there knowledgable, pleasant and accommodating both with tires and mechanical problems. A few months back my VW van over heated on me and died on me on my way to Panorama, so I needed to…read morehave it towed to a shop so I called around and asked places If they worked on old Volkswagens and Vince said he could. I brought it in and he he said that the smoking from my engine was probably a shorted wire (I should have just left as soon as he said that) and maybe the head gaskets had gone. When I got it back (which took a while) he had changed some wires, a sensor and an oil cooling coil and never made mention of the gaskets again. I drove not even 2 km down the road and it died on me again so I called him up and he told me to bring it back in. The second time he claimed that it was the throttle body and said it died because the engine was running two rich and it messed up the oil pressure. I called a VW mechanic I knew back home and told him the situation and said it was not impossible but that it sounded much more like a head gasket but with out looking he couldn't say. After another 2 weeks I got the van back with a rebuilt throttle body and a few new coolant hoses. It had troubles starting that It had never had but It ran. I drove back up to Pano and sure enough by the time I get there my temp light was going nuts, smoke pouring out the back and my oil pressure light and warning alarm all yelling at me. The exact same thing I brought it in to him for. I called him, and as you can imagine I was furious, I told him that he never fixed the problem and his response was "It runs now, when you brought it back It wouldn't start. It's an old engine there are lots of problems." and then said to bring it back. But seeing as by this time he had it for a month, had charged me just under $1200 (would have been more if I hadn't caught the random extras he tried to charge me!), and hadn't fixed a thing, I did not do that. I had it towed to the Volkswagen dealer service shop in Cranbrook, explained everything to them and the first response was "Nothing he did makes any sense at all. He went about it completely wrong). They Looked at the Head gaskets and said the internal engine components were so over heated they had turned blue and probably were all warped. They sent the gaskets to a machine shop and confirmed this and recommended a whole new engine. They said that there was NO coolant in the van and that I had been driving around like that. In the end they fixed it because this guy has no idea what the hell he is doing. One of my friends had an oil change here in is new Ford, and a few weeks later drove to Calgary. While he was there his oil light came and the car wouldn't start. He took it to a dealership and they said it was just a faulty oil filter. I do not recommend any one goes here for anything no matter how small. He has no clue what he is doing and had terrible communication through out the entire process. In the words some one else who has dealt with him "I wouldn't trust that guy to pour me a coffee".

The 'check tire pressure' light came on as we were driving from Calgary to Canmore. A few minutes…read morelater the 'low tire' warning light came. We stopped at the Husky at Dead Man's Flats. They don't fix tires but recommended Ben's. We added air (it was even free!!!) and arrived at Ben's at 11:45 AM. The girl at the desk said it would take around 45 minutes but the techs would be going on lunch break in 15. I must have looked crestfallen because she said, "I'll get it done." One of the techs graciously postponed her lunch to repair the tire (1/2" screw embedded) and we were on our way in 30 minutes. The cost was $30. At a buck-a-minute, it was worth every penny. Everyone was very acomodating and helpful. I'll be a return visitor if I ever need tire repair in the Canmore area again.

I was told that I absolutely needed new tires and that there appeared to be uneven wear on tires. I requested a 4 wheel alignment in case that was the issue. When I went back to pick up my vehicle I was told that the only way to correct the vibration was to buy new tires. When I got home, we took the tires off and rotated. One of the tires had a big chunk of tar stuck to the inside of the rim. We removed the chunk of tar and no more vibration. Consumer beware - service agent was extremely pushy and mechanic did not do his job - if you can avoid this place I would highly recommend that you do so.

Scott MacCabe was the person answering the call. He was very helpful and polite. He explained in details what he will do and he came to meet me right in my hotel; in less than 30 minutes he showed up (I was really surprised!!!!!!). We went to the parking garage and after assessing the damage he explained step by step again how he will proceed in order to fix the problem. In about an hour later, he had completed the work. Scott was very professional and friendly. I really appreciate his help; we dont want this type of experiences away from home while on vacation but having someone ready to help in an outstanding manner definitely makes it less stressful.
