I've been getting massages at Standley lake for 10 years and am a pretty consistent regular. I like the homey feel of the place, each room has a comfortable theme. I've been to several massage therapists in my career, and Brenda is one of a handful ranked at the top of my list. She keeps meticulous notes after each visit, and always asks what areas need attention. She has an intuitive way also and getting right to the spot. I like my muscles to be worked for release, so no foo-foo massage for me, and Brenda delivers. She is also quite knowledgeable on various modalities, I always learn a lot too. I had a massage with Brenda today, I left there a new person. First of all I left them a message in the middle of the night, begging for an appointment as my back seized up. As a new client I was very impressed that the secretary called me before office hours to fit me in. Brenda took the time to ask about my concerns and addressed them with her wonderful massage techniques, answering all my questions and taking her time. This is the best massage place I've ever been to and I've had massages everywhere...Turkey, among other countries. It's great! Long hours, a variety of therapists to get the perfect "fit." I see that some reviewers are complaining about the massage starting late. That's because someone in real pain needed an extra long session. This is not a valid complaint. "Do unto others... Luke 6:31." I'm partial to Yutaka sp? but have had other good therapists over the past 10 or 12 years. One of the owners even changed a flat tire for me once. And another found one of my $4000 hearing aids on the outside walk, at dusk, and saved it for me. HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A GRACIOUS GESTURE! I don't know how he even saw it. I couldn't have. I found this place off SpaFinder.com because someone had given me a gift card. I've been getting massages at different places for the past 5 years and this place is a joke. The worst place by far. The place is old and very outdated. Nothing relaxing about it. Just plain gross. I got there early to fill out some paper work about 11:15am. My appointment wasn't until 11:30am. The lady brought me back to the room at 11:30am but the actually massage didn't start until 11:45am. I was laying on the table for about 10 minutes waiting. I was suppose to get a 1 hour massage but I actually got a 45 minute massage that cost me $75!!! What a rip off!! It was an okay massage... nothing great and nothing horrible. I would not recommend going there. WAY over priced. Massages there should cost $30 because that's how bad it is. DO NOT GO! You'll thank me later. read more

I've been going to Standley Lake for years now and while it isn't a fancy place it feels like a nice home you want to visit again and again. I've had several of the therapists and while they are vary they are all very good. Robb is awesome and Rochelle is amazing. No amenities like showers or steam rooms, so yes, it's a very simple place that feels like it came straight out of the 70s (but in a good way.) They always make you feel welcome and very important. They are always on time and most recently Robb called when he had a cancellation so i could come in! read more

I haven't got a lot of experience with massage clinics, so that is why there are not 5 stars, but this experience was great! I was greeted warmly when I arrived by the receptionist and my massage therapist, Ann was attentive and open to my needs for the session. She gave me the choice to focus on my trouble areas or do full body massage. Her hands were very good and she had no trouble finding my spots and working them loose in a pain-free way. I've gone to this place for several years when I want serious massage therapy to address issues and not a spa massage that is for indulgence. They have a lady who is trained on dealing with bad hips who is awesome. They managed to get me in quickly once when I got a bad kink in my neck and the guy gently eased it. They don't have office staff in the evenings, so you might have to wait a bit if you are there after hours. read more

Arrived 20min. early to fill out paperwork waited for the gal an additional 20min. because the gal was sitting in the break room. Advised areas that were tight and Notty that I wanted extra attention paid to and was the primary reason for appointment as well as relaxation. Ended up listening to a life story I have no interest in, no calming music, not a knot was addressed, not a muscle was worked, useless. On top of it the massage was less than an hour and the young gal taking payment had the nerve to ask what tip I wanted to give. Really, $75 for a crappy massage and they want a tip, I didn't think they deserved the $75. Tips are for exceptional service as a thank you for exceeding expectations not for below par. Save your time and money, they are more interested in insurance billing and that should tell you something. read more

My boss gave me a spafinder gift card and I chose to use it at Standley Lake massage based on the positive reviews on spafinder, google place, and yelp. It was a horrible experience. To make a long story short- my massage started over 20 minutes late, it took the girl 10 minutes to figure out how to charge me after it was over, the massage therapist had long fingernails that kept digging into me (gross and ouch), and it wasn't a good massage at all. Also noticed a sign that they give discounts to customers who leave positive online reviews. So no wonder there are so many false positive reviews!! Lame. Not very ethical of a business to false promote themselves. read more

I went to see Robb at Standley Lake Massage Therapy for treatment of an ankle injury I received while jogging. He identified the muscles causing the pain and treated them. He was very professional, had good techniques for decreasing pain and the stress it caused. The office staff was very friendly and I was able to complete my transaction without disrupting my relaxed mood. Very relaxing and money well spent!!! I went in for a deep tissue massage on my legs and it really helped to relieve a lot of the tension and stress. They even used some stim therapy during the massage to really target the areas that needed extra work. read more
