The only complaint would be, there was a guy outside the shop, he said his name was Kieran Wertheim or something like that. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS WITH YOUR CAR TIM STANFORD IS SCAM LIKE. FEW OTHER POSTERS POINTED OUT HIS LACK OF CARE FOR TOWING THEIR CAR. WELL THE SAME APPLIES TO HIS ACTUAL WORK. THERES A REASON HE ISNT ON GOOGLE. I slipped on ice in January on the highway going 65 mph. Tow bill over $2.5k to remove it from a small median and go 20 minutes down the road. When it came time to repair the vehicle he charged me 3k for the repairs. Not only did Tim Stanford not fix my brakes, brake lights oil leaks, and lights. When confronted about the 4 miss diagnosis of those things he lashed out verbally assaulted me. Even coming to my place of work with my property after the Meredith PD told him to give me back my property. Then when in the middle of my workday he caused a huge disturbance in my place of work yelling and threatening. I called the cops again as he took off with my tires again. He refused to give me my tires back. He wouldnt take ownership of his failed 4 miss diagnosis. Then when i asked him to do a partial refund for the oil leaks that are still present he lost it even further! In the end i got my tires back thanks to meredith police. This place is a scam. He picked up my car from an accident on a Friday, called them 4x to come get it the next day on Saturday, and said they aren't open on weekends and won't release it to me until Monday. When I told them that sounds wrong as now I have to pay for 3 days of their storage fees and also don't live in the state and needed my car back before the work week, they immediately told me if I have a problem to call the cops. I did, and the officer I spoke with quite literally told me "I would get my car back as soon as you can, otherwise it will be crazy expensive". Stanford did not budge after I told them I had spoke to the police and told them what they told me. When I went to pick up my car Monday, the business did not answer multiple calls from me, and I had to call the police AGAIN to finally get in contact with the owner to get MY PROPERTY back. And he charged me $1600. This place is a scam, and the owner is a bully and that is how he gets away with scamming people. read more

I was on holiday from the United Kingdom and travelling with my family of 4 when my rental car suddenly stopped and refused to restart in the middle of the highway! Tim came straight out and moved the car quickly to a safe place. He then waited with us for 4 hours while the hire car company tired and failed to recover us and replace our vehicle. Eventually, the hire car company decided we should stay overnight in a local hotel. Tim helped us find accommodation and moved the car to the hotel so I didn't have to spend the night waiting in the car. Tim was fantastic throughout, he goes the extra mile for his customers. I recommend you stay away from Sanford Towing. They are not a professional company. They caused 6,000 dollars worth of damage to my car by improperly removing it from going off the road in a snowstorm. Two mechanics who are licensed stated that with a towed hitch in the rear of the vehicle removing it from the tires at one time would have exerted 6,000 pounds pressure on my rear sub frame. I have not had my car for two months and they have taken zero responsibility for the damage and time I have spent with this completely avoidable situation. I spoke to the "owner" of the company who when asked if they dealt with Agero roadside assistance responded with agh um no ya sometimes. This company is out of Meredith NH do not use them, they can't be a reputable company if they do not know how to properly remove a car. read more

TIm Stanford has to be one of the biggest liars I have ever met. He completely took advantage of one of my employees that was barely off the road in an ice storm. I called him to ask why he towed my vehicle to his yard instead of just letting my employee pay for the extraction. He told me that their was many lights displayed on the dash which I knew was a lie since I have HUM and did not get a check engine alert in my email. I asked was there any fluids leaking which he said yes (another Lie). I went to his (yard) to get my vehicle back which he did not hesitate to let me drive it out. So why was it a big deal to drive it the night before and not the next morning? So he could charge me $445 bucks to take it. LOL read more

I highly recommend you steer clear of Stanford Towing & Recovery! Not only did they practice negligence when towing a car from my property, but they denied it, took zero responsibility, and were far from professional in their response to my inquiry. They replied by e-mail with haste, misspellings, false accusations, anger, denial, and name calling. They refused to look into the situation because if they had, they would know that the so-called facts they stated in the e-mail were false. The tow truck driver had me sign a waiver but it was dark so I had to ask what I was signing - it was stating that I would not hold them liable for damage to the car (nothing about the property) - but they didn't give me a copy of it. Both the car and my driveway were damaged from the tow truck operator. The owners of Stanford Towing should be compassionate and sorry that damage occurred and should be willing to make it right. That's what good companies do. This company is not good and I hope that you will never have to deal with them. I just think people should do the right thing, not become immediately defensive and angry. read more
