His approach in firm and slow and consistent with checking on your comfort level. His office is clean and comfortable. I can't say enough great things about his work. I wanted to give a very positive review for my experience with Jay. I had a back issue that was going on and I went to Jay for some desperately needed help. He was very knowledgeable and helped relief some of the pain. He also was more than willing to work with my doctor in case there was anything special that he could do to help the situation. My schedule hasn't worked for me to get back to see Jay but my back issue has been solved and Jay had a lot to do with that process. I have been going to Jay for about 4 years. He is my "to go" guy and his massage is A+. Jay will listen to your needs to be able to determine what massage therapy is best. Sometimes my massage session starts with a stretching session, so the massage is more effective. I also like Jay's flexible schedule when he can see me right after work. Skeptic to regular When I first decided to take the leap to get a massage I attempted a well known and marketed place and honestly the entire experience was uncomfortable and I felt like an ATM. After some research I decided to go local and ended up at Stanforth Massage. Jay is great! I went for a massage with Jay while visiting the Columbus area. I was experiencing some acute neck and back pain and Jay was able to fit me on on the Saturday morning of Easter weekend - which I was very grateful for. The massage studio created a relaxing atmosphere, as did the soft music. Jay asked a number of questions to understand any issues I might currently have, as well as to help identify what my current needs were. Throughout the massage, Jay was extremely professional, courteous, and thorough. He was respectful of my comfort level and checked in occasionally to make sure he was not working too hard on the massage. I can say that, without a doubt, this was the best massage I have ever had. Jay managed to work through the acute muscle spasms I was experiencing and work out the knots. I have never left a massage feeling as great as I did from this. I would not hesitate to recommend Jay to anyone looking for a highly skilled, professional massage experience - particularly if you are experiencing any kind of issues. I get massages about every two weeks or so. Im very active job as well as a strenuous gym routine. Very often the tightness that lives in my body goes completely unnoticed. Its always tricky going to a new massage therapist, but five minutes on the table and I knew I had made the right choice. Jay provided the most welcoming, professional, environment immediately. He was able to really dig deep and work some deep rooted knots out of my shoulders and traps. There was also an emotional release that came out of nowhere, and with grace and care, Jay , eased me through it. I have never really had that type of emotional connection with the release of a knot before but Jay was stellar in this situation, without me feeling humiliated. Complete waste of money, talk about being ripped off. This ranks and the absolute worst NON-MASSAGE I have ever actually paid for. I don't know where or how this person has any training whatsoever, there was never any manipulation, not even so much as myofascial release. All he does is press his forearms into your body as if he is exchanging energy with you. It almost felt like a molestation, what with his taking advantage to touch my body without ever actually delivering ANY massage techniques whatsoever. Never mind how many times he pressed his crotch up against me in hopes that I would reciprocate with a carressing touch? Don't be misled, nothing about his touch was caressing. Nothing. Honestly, I should have demanded a refund because this person is not a masseur. When I called and booked the appointment, Jay asked where I saw his ad, I mentioned 'Yelp', so much for the falsely advertised Yelp discount. That never happened. I have had at least 100 massages in my lifetime, by actually professionals, I'm not sure how to classify this experience other than a violation and weird. read more

Plus he has a wide range of massage techniques, knows how to apply them and can intuitively tell when things are working well or need an adjustment.
