If you need simple, cookie cutter dentistry, this may work for you. However, if you want a Dental Clinic where you can actually discuss your dental health with the dentist, this may not be the place for you. I had been a patient for 7 years. This place used to be more patient focused, but after recent interactions, I made the decision to "fire" Stanley Dentistry and find a dentist with less arrogance and a bit smaller ego, and a stable office environment. I'll explain.. I had a recent need for pretty extenisive work. I asked the Stanleys for help. In this process, the staff scheduled me for various "consults" and cleanings. Several of these were botched in terms of getting the reason for the visit correct. On one occasion, I was booked to see Dr Bobbie, but when I got there, it seemed like a total suprise to the staff, including Dr Bobbie who showed up in street clothes, peeked in my mouth and told me I had to come back for consultation. This after 3 or 4 previous visits, several imaging events etc. This visit was a total waste of time and I was sent home after essentially nothing was done, except I had to agree to pay $2500 for Dr Bobbie to develop a plan to correct my bite. I relectantly agreed because it seemed like a lot just to put a plan together. The plan came in. We went over it together, it was extremely expesive. ($50K). I dont have dental insurance, so I needed to figure out how I could make this happen. In the process, I had the opportunity to seek consultation from 3 other dental practices, including maxilliofacial, orthodontic specialists and implant specialists, jaw surgeons...... there was not a shortage of qualified doctors. I got some quotes. Less than half of the previous. However, ALL OF THEM told me that the "plan" from Dr Bobbie would be detrimental to my long term health, and one told me that "Anyone who will fix this with just implants, extractions and crowns is just taking your money, its not ethical, not good medicine, not in your best interest" Soooooo.... I decided to seek more info from the jaw surgeon I had at UNC, as well as circle back to Stanley Dentistry to discuss this infromation and inquire about what they would be doing differently than the other Doctors might have perceived. BUT, at Stanley Dentistry, you're not allowed to question the Stanleys gigantic but apparently very fragile EGO. This is nothing but extreme arrogance and greed. They dont know their own boundaries and capabilities, because their ego and arrogance gets in the way of them practicing ethical quality medicine. I was told that I would have to pay an additional $188 consulting fee to talk to the almighty Dr about the $50K plan... ....THAT I ALREADY PAID $2400 FOR!!!!!! This all begs the question,.......... Why would a DDS practice in Cary NC be very eager to do this $50K plan, when 3 other dental clinics wouldnt do it for way less, because it wasnt an ethical plan? It seems to me that there might be some financial strife here in this practice. I think as a paitient over the past 2 years or so Ive seen this office environment get more and more toxic, hygenists and office staff turnover, the commandeering dictator like managment style driving them away and creating a level of fear and lack of confidence in the remaining staff. I was treated with disrespect, told falsehoods, charged excessively...... I AND YOU deserve better. Patients deserve to be treated better. Many many dentists can do crowns, extractions, implants etc.... Not all provide PATIENT CARE..... not all care for the person, beyond the wallet. Stanley Dentistry had become a toxic factory dentistry shoving patients thru without any care for their true health. The Stanleys are out for their own good only. Pathetic. The hygenists are generally good, so if all you need is an expensive cleaning, give them a call. Dont say I didnt warn you though. read more

I have had temporary crowns for 7 weeks. I was supposed to get my real crowns tomorrow and found out the day before that there must have been a problem with the lab and my case was not there. Who waits till the last minute before checking to make sure your crowns are there for your patient. I had to pay 16,000 up front which is a huge chunk of change! I haven't even got my final crowns yet and I had to pay for them. I thought this office was more professional! read more

I really don't know how the pathetic "professionals" that worked on my father look in the mirror and don't say to themselves "wow, I'm a piece of crap who takes advantage of nice people". My father spent $48k on top and bottom implants, and it was easily the worst experience of his life. Their terrible, self-made implants and poor prosthetics caused unnecessary weight loss and pain to a patient that's already underweight. When experiencing pain and product failure on their end after the surgery they simply kept searching for more money instead of fixing their failure. Why? You haven't provided what was paid for. Embarrassing they consult business like this. Worse than used car salesmen or ambulance chasers! There are far better options in the area for implants and you would be wise to go elsewhere. I hope someone at Stanley reads this because I really want to them to grasp how pathetic and trashy their greedy behavior is. A new low for Stanley Dental. I have additional charges on my bill (almost $3000, that they "estimated" to be paid by my insurance company, but without getting pre-authorization). I am appealing this decision and told them I would pay after consulting the insurance company. They charged my credit card for this money without my authorization to bill the card. They just take, are not accountable for questionable practices. Don't give them your credit card number, they'll abuse the privilege and you won't know it until you get your statement and see you have a bill that you did not agree to. I paid about $4k just for one implant And now that I call them , one of the rep said she will call me on Monday and here 2 days later they did not unless I did.... they say they can't help me or even look at it after all the money of mine is eaten up by them. This is the most ridiculous place I have visited who don't take care of their patients. Oh yeah they also fire patients if you are different looking by saying some random reason which is not even true. I called this place because I had some PAIN/DISCOMFORT IN A ROOT CANAL! when I called the female on the other end said this doctor was one of the best and I will leave their office without any pain. DID I MENTIONED I ALREADY HAVE A ROOT CANAL! YES and it's bothering me. Anyways she assured me their doctor will take care of me. My appointment was made and when I came in the front lady showed me around, all their CERITIFICATES and THROPHIES they have in their. She also mentioned they do everything because they don't like to refer out. Once their doctor saw me he said they don't treat root canals. Referred me out of his office. Now I'm being charged $300 plus dollars. I paid $100 for my appointment and $50 that day. Now they are asking for $105.00more and my insurance paid $30.00 This place just care about MONEY MONEY MONEY to make their office look nice!! Stay away! I am one who has been very fearful of the dentist for years knowing I needed to have quite a bit of dental work done. The staff has gone above and beyond to make me feel so welcome so comfortable and at ease during each and every visit. I would highly recommend going somewhere else, unless you like paying really high dentist bills. The staff here stated that they are not in network with any carrier so that they are not restricted by insurance companies as to how they treat patients, I don't believe this is accurate. They charge the highest rates of any dentist I have ever had and ended up paying $60+ out of pocket for a routine check up and our insurance is phenomenal. They think that their technology is state of the art, however, my husbands dentist in North Raleigh has more advanced equipment (like hand held and smaller x-ray technology that doesn't cause discomfort). I don't doubt that Dr. Bobbi is a highly qualified dentist and very skilled at her trade, however the prices are sky high and the insurance/accounting staff need help. They called me multiple times, month after month about an Invisalign bill that was being paid by the ins. co. and if they had simply read the notes they would have seen that instead of hounding me for payments. I had to call them at least 3 times to submit a claim to my insurance company correctly, I finally had to beg them to please pick up the phone and call my ins co to find out what the problem is, this went on for months. Then they asked for payment in full for a cavity knowing that we are DOUBLE COVERED with insurance, but still required us to pay over $700 up front for the procedure, knowing that they would get the funds from the Ins Co. I'm currently waiting on a large refund going on a month now and they haven't even processed my refund yet, so it will be another couple weeks until I see it and it should've been completed 2 weeks ago. Procedure was in September and it will be January before I see a refund, completely unacceptable. Go elsewhere!!! Unless you really like paying high prices for poor customer service. read more

Good service - nice staff and doctors but not happy with the business practice. We set up an appointment and told them specifically we have specific insurance plan from Delta Dental. They said they accept it. When we showed up they claimed they didn't accept our specific delta dental insurance! Unbelievable. They should have validated acceptability on the phone when we requested the appointment, instead of telling us later when you showed up with kid. I also, asked for an estimate before starting the service. They said they will provide it but didn't. They have charged us a very high amount and now we need to through reimbursement process and pay 20% because we're out of network. We have top notch insurance and we didn't expect this experience. They also don't list which insurance they accept either on their website. Such a large facility should get these basics right. I know I usually review food establishments, but once in a while, you eat too many sweets and need a dentist. Hands down, THESE are the guys you want to see. The entire facility emits a "state-of-the-art" atmosphere, while maintaining the warmth, welcoming, friendly aura of a mom and pop family dental clinic. I was immediately welcomed by Brenda upon checking in, offered me coffee or water, gave me a tour, explained all the facility's capabilities, and placed me in a gorgeous, modern conference room with piped-in music, to finish my dental history and consent forms. By the way, all those 'papers' were done electronically via iPad. I can always appreciate a facility that embraces technology, and speaking of which, I was informed that all the providers frequently attend continuing educations and conferences to keep up-to-date with their techniques, procedures, and training. Brenda finished the tour in the main exam area, where I sat in the chair and waited for the dentist, with cable TV to keep me busy. Did I mention they also have free WiFi? It was a short wait, but I got to enjoy the super SUPER soft blankets they provide for their patients while waiting... Seriously, I need to get my hands on one of those blankets! After a quick exam by Dr. Bobbi, who thoroughly explained my options, she provided nearly immediate quotes for what I was visiting for - a great price that easily beat other quotes from other facilities - and upon agreement, they fortunately had enough time to do the molds and explain it all! They also have another room dedicated to head shots and photography, and as an amateur photographer, let's just say I was jealous of their gear and studio set up. I'm sure they could run an easy side business of taking professional head shots! I also got to meet Dr. Rob, a very welcoming and friendly personality that happened to be a photography aficionado, so we got to have a quick friendly chat about that before I left. Even the "M's" at the front desk were very accommodating and made the checkout process understandable and painless. I came in for a free consultation and left with a complete dental plan that fit the bill and was exactly what I was looking - and hoping - for! I highly recommend this location for anyone looking for new dentists! I just wish they were closer to where we live in Chapel Hill, but still well worth our drive and time! read more

This is a great dental practice, they have very nice operatories and offer a lot of comfort amenities like warm blankets and headphones. You can tell they really put a lot of time and thought into their office to make it a comfortable place. The staff is super nice and have been there a long time, and you can tell that Dr. Rob and Dr. Bobbi really know what they're doing. I like the fact that they offer a broad range of dental services, it helps to keep me from running around town to different practices. Now they may be a little more expensive than your average dentist, but I believe they offer a higher level of care. I've searched all over Cary for a dentist that came anywhere near what I had up in Powell, OH. I really had high hopes that Stanley Dentistry would be my final stop. Alas, they've proved to be yet another pit-stop instead. While the staff is very kind, I also found them to be slightly obnoxious...constantly trying to up-sell me on something I didn't need or want. All I wanted was to go in and get my teeth cleaned. They also work with those that have been diagnosed with sleep apnea to get mouth pieces that may help them sleep. My husband had been diagnosed and was fitted with a mouth piece. We have very good medical insurance, so the piece itself was not overly expensive. Unfortunately, we were billed up front and paid our deductible to them at purchase. They neglected to submit the claim to our insurance for over six months. I had to call them regarding it because we were getting bills from other medical issues and I knew that the deductible had already been paid. After three phone calls they said they had sent it in. I waited a month and still saw no claims on our insurance for this. I finally had to contact our insurance advocate through work and she made sure that the claim got submitted as the insurance confirmed that they had never received anything from the dentist. After receiving the EOB for this particular claim, you guessed it, we shouldn't have had to pay anything due to the fact that they submitted outside the 6 month period. We had to contact the dentist to get our money back. And now, I'm heading to yet another dentist. So, I would say watch your insurance with these people. They are also super expensive and really try to push you into buying things you may not want. read more

I will not return to this practice. Their dentistry is passable, but not outstanding. But I believe they have the most venal, greedy, self-aggrandizing practice I have ever experienced anywhere. The office appears over-staffed; there are always people standing around in the reception area. This is relevant because today they demanded that I fill out their online patient forms as if I had never been there before, rather than to ask me to provide any updated information. I refused to waste my time doing their work, and then one of the excuses, in addition to "office policy" was that they have a new online program. Get one of those people standing around to reenter the information, folks. At the prices they charge I am not doing their work. They would keep my appointment, but only if I signed a "refusal" to provide my information--which they already have! I walked out. The office is an "optional" masked enterprise. What? Mask guidelines call for masks to be worn at health care-related places, and this dentist office is more assuredly health-care related--in fact, that is why they demanded that I fill out all my patient medical history forms all over again. No one was masked, except me. Is this a 100% vaccinated office? if not, then there is no "optional" about their mask policy, even if it were not health care-related. The two TV screens in the waiting area endlessly loop advertising the Stanley services. Distracting and obnoxious. Their weekly emails endlessly tout the Stanley services. Obnoxious. After routine appointments, each patient receives their "special" gift to patients: a useless clear plastic bag with Stanley advertising, containing all the freebies any dentist gets from companies. After any kind of procedure involving sedation, patients receive a Stanley-logo "special" gift bag containing those "special" foods they want patients to eat: a can of Campbells chicken noodle soup and a bottle of Ensure! Nothing very special there, folks. I have never experienced a practice so self-aggrandizing. Need to think your marketing strategies, Stanley Dentistry. Two days before my appointment this week, I received a text that my on-file credit card would be charged THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT "to minimize social interactions" in the pandemic. This from a maskless office! I had to contact them to insist that my card be charged only AFTER they had actually performed services for me. Their services are so expensive, and they do not take insurance as payment. Patients must pay cash upfront, and then patients must mess around with their insurance companies to be reimbursed. Somehow dentists in other States manage to take insurance as payment and have patients pay the co-pay or difference. Not this practice, though. Cash is king at Stanley Dentistry. If you have a choice for your dental care, run away from Stanley Dentistry. There are many other dentists at least as competent as Stanley and not as expensive, venal, or obnoxious in their marketing practices. read more

Paid over $3k in dental work, only to find out from an honest dentist that I didn't need any of the work they did and half of what they did had to be redone! Be very careful if using this dentistry. I was forced to pay the total cost up-front and was assured that they had extensive experience with my dental insurance agency. Two colleagues both attested that I would receive a reimbursement of $426 and instead received $304. They told me I could not be helped when I asked for reimbursement of the difference referencing their verbal guarantees during my visit. They are vigilant with upselling to the extent that they mislead me about my permanent retainer being loose before trying to refer me to their orthodontics department for a measly $2.6k. They also will comment on any possible flaw with your teeth in order to sell you on in-house services, not to mention other exams, cleanings, and treatments that are unnecessary. read more

I have not been to the Dentist in many years. Since I have always hated going to the Dentist and it has been a few years my anxiety was sky high. Although I have to get some work done and didn't get the greatest news (my own fault) I still had a great visit! The whole staff is amazing! They make you feel comfortable and they are very compassionate. They even offer you a fuzzy blanket if you are chilly! I would recommend them to anybody!!! So I wrote this in the waiting room before my deep cleaning. I just wanted to make another post about my experience. Jennifer my hygienist was amazing! After our recent move to the area we had some trepidation about finding the perfect "family dentist'. We were thrilled with Stanley Dentistry in every way. They were wonderfully accommodating with our family of five in scheduling and the cost was well within reason. The atmosphere is actually calming (not a sense of rushing to get to the next patient) which we found to be a nice change. They take their time as if you are the only one on their schedule. That dedication is evident in everyone from the "front staff", assistants, hygienists, to the doctors. Although we didn't require much more than a couple of fillings and cleanings Stanley also offers a full range of other care from cosmetic dentistry to sedated extractions. It's nice to know we won't have to go to a specialist if needed. From our experience, we highly recommend Stanley Dentistry for ages five through forty-five. read more

I highly recommend Stanley Dentistry. I had a professional teeth whitening done recently. Dr. Bobbi Stanley and the ladies at the front desk were professional and friendly. I had never had whitening done before, and everyone went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable before and during the process. I received a follow up call to make sure I was feeling good post-procedure (a common side effect is temporary tooth sensitivity).
