At that time, this cost included installation and all the items needed for an AC unit to run correctly. They did not state there were any other things we may need to purchase to make the unit run. At the end of May, we had another technician come out to the house to check on the unit, as it air was loud, like there was a waterfall in the house, when it was cycling. We wanted to make sure the unit was installed correctly. At that time, my elderly parents were at the house. The technician told them they needed to install a new start assist, as the amps were running high, a surge protector and a trip fee. The cost, $757. I was not in town and was unaware of the extra costs. In October, the company called to have us do our 6 month inspection, which was included in the original purchase. I found out at this time, that the $757 had been paid at the last visit. I contacted the company to see why these costs were charged and was informed the trip fee was a mistake. They couldn't tell me why the other things were charged to my parents, as that should have been included in the original costs or should have been covered by warrantee. I have tried at least five times to speak to a supervisor and have not had anyone call me back. We had a wonderful technician, Nate, come to do the inspection and it was found they never installed the filtration system on the AC unit and it had been running daily in the Florida heat for seven months. Nate, contacted the installation supervisor, who saw that we originally paid to have the filtration system put in and that they now needed to come out to do that. I tried to call a supervisor again after this visit and was directed to a voicemail. I am not happy that my elderly parents may have been taken advantage of or that our concerns have not been investigated. When installing such an expensive unit, I would assume all of the parts necessary to make the unit run would be included in the original costs. Other than the great contact we had with Nate, I am not happy with the service we have received in regards to getting the overcharges looked at and the unit not having the filtration unit installed.

The two techs in charge of the installation (both named Josh!) were polite, efficient and clean (to the degree it was possible removing such an old system) but, most importantly, they were more than willing to explain in detail everything about the new system working and even questions we may have had out of just sheer curiosity. They did not waste any time in their job but were never in any hurry interacting with us. It was a pleasure doing business with them and with Mid Florida Heating and Air.

He was able to book and accommodate to timing. His technician came during the stated arrival window and completed the dryer vent cleaning within a decent time frame. They changed the tubing to a newer one that won't catch on fire as easily. I also joined their program where they come and check on the dryer on a regular basis. I highly recommend this company. Spookily (not their fault) my A/C completely broke down last night. I called at 7:30 am and the technician picked up (their 24-hour service isn't just a voicemail or answering service). Mike was here by 9:30 and had my A/C fixed (new capacitor) and back up and running by 10 all for under $200. He cleaned the drain line for free and coached me in how to keep it clean (1 cup of vinegar every 3-4 months). Both technicians were responsive and efficient - and incredibly nice. I have used other A/C companies in Gainesville and there's no comparison.
