During the huge April 2025 rainstorms (review…read morewritten in March 2026) this company was recommended to us by our insurance agent when we had some flooding in our basement and we needed mitigation. Our experience started out great but then turned into a nightmare. When we first called, I really appreciated the sense of urgency that they worked with. They came right away and were able to rip up the carpet and the drywall as needed to get the space dried up. This is the extent of my positive experience with them. We offered them the reconstruction project, asking if they could work with the remainder of the insurance money we had, with some flexibility as needed. Since I was so grateful for the work they did on the mitigation, I told them to not worry about the timeline, that we wouldn't rush them. This came back to bite me hard, since all the employees that were sent a) did a laughably mediocre job, b) were crying, demanding to be paid in full when the work was nowhere near done, c) were incapable of accurately communicating when they would be over to do work, causing me to miss meetings and medical appointment while I sat at home waiting for them to not show up. This entire saga dragged on for literally nine months, and all of this was while I was pregnant. I understand I gave flexibility with timing, and some with budget, but nine months of empty promises and blowing the budget with BS rework is unreasonable by any standard. The business owner, for months, repeatedly apologized and promise to make it right. I understand some of the circumstances were out of his control, but again, 9+ months of dragging out a simple drywall and flooring project for us who has given them all the grace in the world is disappointing and unacceptable. It ended with me texting him to just forget about everything, that we will learn our lesson, take our fat L, and just hire someone reliable. It was upsetting, frustrating, but fitting that this last message didn't get a reply or an acknowledgment. The ironic part is that we are in the market for a carpet cleaner, and we would love to go with someone local. Shoot me recommendations!

    If you have water damage "DO NOT CALL SERVPRO!"…read more I had a basement leak, Farmers insurance assigned them, Dustin and his partner came out for 45 minutes and said the entire house needed to be packed up and floors and walls ripped out. Days went by and insurance thought it was done, they never called, returned or fixed it. Farmers insurance submitted them as a company to blacklist. Meanwhile I'm back to square one!

The first month it sat there with fans blowing on everything. Many promises made, so many. Then nothing. first it was "oh its holidays, then oh team got covid, then oh its christmas, then its team members quit. Jan 15th still nothing done on home. Set limits, and higher expectations and always met with excuses and promises. Original promise date of March 1 came and went with nothing. Then a little work done, but the worst workmanship ever seen. It just kept getting worse. It is now 7 months later and I still am not home and my house, what has been done is so poorly completed its a disgrace. Nothing even, or correct or clean or level or professional. The workmanship is a shame. Finally in May after begging to finish was blown off again. I discussed with insurance and agreed had to fire. Little did I know Insurance had paid them and now was no longer going to cover to finish house and had to get from Servpro. So many excuses for a complete failure of a renovation. The worse was always hearing others in need. I was always on back burner. Left over, fit in, find a subcontractor at cheapest price and just ignore all my pleas for help. I would never ever recommend the company with their lack of professionalism today.

We interviewed three companies and without a doubt Vanguard Restoration was the most responsive and had an amazing attention to detail. Al and Ken are not only professional but responsive, throughout the process they answered dozens of our questions and concerns as well as keeping us updated on their progress. Both have a sense of calmness in an incredibly stressful situation. I was kept informed throughout the process and the place was left spotless. Could not ask for more.     OK, so I called last week and got an appointment pretty fast for carpet cleaning. All good. Today,…read moreday of appointment (26 May 2022), I called to confirm as I did not get a text or reminder of any sort so I almost forgot and scrambled to get the items picked up off the floor for my 0930 appointment. I talk to someone who was OK - but seemed put off that I wasnt going to be there to make payment. I informed him, if they had to be paid upon completion, no problem. Could he please facetime me so that I can view the carpet that he cleaned? He said that is not how they do things. Totally understand - but we are a working family and I have had many carpet people in the past and I paid over the phone - but I had seen their work before so it was never an issue. This was a new company that I wanted to try and wished to keep if they did a good job. Anyways, we hang up. 5 minutes later the owner calls me and tells me that me wishing to see the carpet facetime draws a "red flag". I asked him why. He said no one has ever asked that before. I reminded him that I work full time and so does my husband, we are retired military and currently GS civilians on base and that I just wanted 5 minutes to view it before paying. He said that is not how he does business and he wants to cancel. I mean, really???? Your going to lose a possible new customer, who, BTW, is a carpet freak and loves my carpet cleaned at least every 2-3 months because you dont want to spend 5 minutes showing me the carpet before I pay you???? I am just shocked. Maybe, just maybe they do amazing cleaning on carpets - sadly, we will never know OR maybe, he doesnt care to lose a future customer. I dont know.
