I scheduled two separate appointments with Stanley Steemer, and they did not disappoint either time. The first appointment was for carpet cleaning at my boss's house, and she was beyond thrilled with the results. The team was professional, efficient, and did an excellent job. The second appointment was for a couch cleaning at our business location, and Antoine and Lafayette were absolutely amazing! They were professional, respectful, and took great care in their work. On top of that, every time I called customer service, they were just as pleasant and helpful, great experience all around. I will definitely be using them again for future cleaning needs. I'm happy enough. Dryer vent cleaned (I let it go a bit long), carpets look good and house smells much fresher. Techs were respectful and careful. Dryer vent took about an hour, and 4 rooms, two staircases, a hallway and two pieces of furniture a bit over two hours. I am extremely disappointed with the level of professionalism and service I received from Stanley Steemer. My appointment was scheduled for a Saturday floor cleaning. When the technician arrived, I was informed that his equipment was broken and that the service could not be completed. While things happen, the real issue began with the rescheduling. I explained very clearly that I work all week and needed an appointment after 4:00 PM. The technician specifically told me he would work around my schedule and make me his last stop, arriving after 4 PM. Based on that assurance, I agreed to reschedule. However, on the day of the rescheduled appointment, the technician showed up at 2:00 PM, while I was still at work. When I contacted customer service to explain the situation, they placed me on hold, contacted the technician, and then told me that he denied ever agreeing to come after 4 PM. This directly contradicted what was clearly discussed and promised to me. At that point, the lack of accountability, miscommunication, and unprofessional handling of the situation was unacceptable. As a paying customer who made multiple attempts to accommodate their schedule, I felt completely disregarded. This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Between the broken equipment, failure to honor a scheduling commitment, and being told conflicting information, I have lost all confidence in this company. Hired Stanley Steemer to do both duct and carpet cleaning work. Per the Duct cleaning took about 3.5 to 4 hours, which was expected. Three minor issues. (1) the person who went around placing tape to cover the vents was very thorough. Some intake vents were high to get to and, without even asking, just helped himself to a step-ladder to get to them. I can understand that he needed it to reach but it would have been respectful to the home owner to first ask. To ensure the "vacuum" process had the full effect, I then went around and re-did some of his taping for he did not fully cover them - on some he seemed to just slap the tape on without fully covering the opening. I had to point out to him the vents that he had missed. They did do a good job on clean-up and given the nature of the work, the guy doing the actual duct cleaning did not account for all cleaning up all the places duct debris fell nor was I informed of that so I knew I had to do a bit of clean up, myself. After I had paid them and they left, the house began to feel cold after a while. I went to turn up the heat up but the furnace did not turn on at all. At first, I thought the furnace system had somehow been damage. Although they do turn off the main circuit switch to furnace to begin work, that was turned back on; however, the failed to turn the switch to the furnace itself back on, from when they turned it off and did not bother to tell me that. I had to find that out, myself. They do email you 'before and after' photos. However, one duct section 'before' photo looked the same as the "after' photo. I called the office to just inquire and, after I explained the issue to the woman who answered the phone, she put me hold for several minutes; she came back and told me she had checked with the manager, who apparently looked at the pictures, who said it as just a "discoloration". Not being knowledgeable on the duct work "discoloration", I questioned it for I was not sure what that even meant. What bothered me is the manager did not have the decency, or just didn't want to be bothered, to get on the line and talk to me directly.....a paying customer. Apparently, once you pay them, you don't really matter to management. I do recommend them but that is the reasons for only three stars. Per the carpet cleaning job, no issues. They did a fine job and got all the stains out that I thought were permanent. Bottom line, I would recommend them; the guys how who came out for both jobs were kind and courteous. Given the post-work issues mentioned from the duct-cleaning service, however, is the reasons for giving only three stars. read more

Totally got taken advantage of by this company. Estimated quote online to clean grout for kitchen and very small power room was $250. I knew this was low and expected to pay a bit more as you can't get anything done for under $500 these days. Somehow the kid charged us $870 saying our tile was stone and he had to use a special process (our tile is ceramic). Unfortunately I wasn't home at the time they had started and my husband told him it was stone. In any case, there was no special cleaning process that I could tell. He then tried to sell us a sealant for $600. Don't use this company for anything. Had an appointment for carpet cleaning on 7/31. After nobody showed during the appointment time I called customer service and was told the crew would be late and I would get a discount as a "late" courtesy. Nobody showed up and nobody from Stanley reached out to offer an explanation or try to make it right. When I reached out today, they refused to do anything other than the small "late" discount they already applied. I'm reasonable and if I had gotten a call the next day apologizing and explaining what had happened I probably would've been OK. But to receive no communication and then when being given a chance to make the situation right to have the company basically tell me "tough luck" is completely unacceptable. Honestly, if I had gotten either a proactive courtesy call the next day or another $10-25 off as a courtesy when I had to call and reschedule, I'd have been satisfied but now I think I'm going to be taking my business elsewhere and suggest my friends, family and coworkers to do the same. read more

Terrible, terrible service! Hired them to clean my sofa and chair, service man did a horrible job! Service man didn't even try to move my furniture to do the back of sofa or chair. I had to point this out to him as he stated he was "finished". And my furniture was filthy from sitting in storage for over a year. They give you a time window from 8-1 or 12-6. The 2 times they were out was on the late side of the time frame. I called the first time to see if I could get an idea and the woman said she had no way of doing that. We had 2 bedrooms and an area rug cleaned and that took 2 1/2 hours. The spots we had from our dogs didn't come out so they came back and that took 2 hours! He worked on the stains and they are still just as visible as when he came. Didn't get all the spots cleaned..Rush apparently, called back customer service and have to wait four days for them to fix their crappy service. If you hire these "service" people, stay and watch like the children they are, cause my 10 year child could have done a better job with wet Swifter... I should have just gone and rented a Rug Doctor from Home Depot and been happier. I was scheduled a 5 hour window of 8a-1p, which seamed pretty large a window but I was hoping that day-of updates would allow me to plan around it a little better. 8a came and went... 9, 10, 11... I called the call center to inquire about technician ETA and she reached out and was told 12-1230. I made sure all my furniture was moved (not an easy task) and waited. 12, 1230, 1p.... Still nothing. I called AGAIN and the technician update then was 4pm. I was SO frustrated by the lack of communication. My time was totally wasted. I couldn't believe I didn't hear from them ONCE to update me. What a waste of a day off and time. I IMMEDIATELY called Hagopian to get on the books for a 1 hour morning window on my next day off. The worst experience ever! Stanley Steemer ruined our hardwood floors. We ordered carpet cleaning but the tech said that she wanted to clean our hardwood floors also to make them "Shinier". When she completed them, their was a lake throughout on our hardwood floors. The wood cupped and separated and has squeaks throughout. Stanley Steemer is offering us $6,000 to replace the hardwood floor in the first floor of our home - we have an estimate of $25,000 to replace the floor including moving furniture, of course. Stanley Steemer refuses to speak to us about it after 2 of their managers came to look at the damage and agreed that it needed replaced. The worst customer service in my life! And now I am living with ruined hardwood floors or paying $19,000 to correct their HUGE bad service. read more

Stanley Steemer cleaned my vents on June 14 20252. They were supposed to clean the cool air returns per estimate but didnt. They said it was wasn't necessary. They also cleaned my dryer vent. I paid estimated price of paid $600. They had the nerve to ASK for a tip. My husband felt compelled to give $50 tip. I always tip resturants, doordash, pizza delivery, instakart generously but never was asked for a tip for roofers, painters, carpet layers etc. I was in the hospital at the time, if I was home this would have never happened. Then my neighbor who has a condo just like mine, same square footage only paid $400 just this week same job on June 20 2022 . She didnt have dryer vent cleaned. I paid $600 2 weeks ago. I had my dryer vent cleaned also but on the quote it was priced at $79. This place is a rip off. They said they were going to email pic of vent but never did. I called them to clean pee off our couch. They gave me a time range when they'd get here I got up so be on time for the start of the range, they were late. I got a text saying so, then another telling me they'd be late again. Finally someone showed up. He told me he didn't have the equipment to do the job. He left and I called them back and told them about that and they told me someone was finished with a job and he'd be here in 30 mnts. I called again the day before for the ducts cleaning service and everything looked good, they would honor it, which was of sort a pre-requisite to go ahead with the job. Have used Stanley Steemer in Livonia before. Had them come back as we signed a prepaid year contract with them, because of the Covid stuff it had been a few months since we had seen them. The tech showed up during the time frame they gave us- no mask as required, No idea what his name was as he did not tell me. He walked through our house with no protective boot covers leaving water and muddy water across wooden floors, white carpet, up our stairs and hallway which they were not cleaning. We were defrauded. The person who came spent very little time and the carpets were hardly damp. We called mostly because of a pet accident but also needed the carpets cleaned. We were suspicious that the work was very sub par but it was hard to determine. Two weeks later we needed carpet stretching and when the other carpet people came they commented that the carpets didn't look like they were cleaned. On the 5th of this month we had Stanley Steemer come to my Parents home to clean out the ductwork. There were two workers by the name of Christopher Davis and Sean Urrea driving vehicle 3587 that came out. Well why we trust it these two guys in our home we did not keep a close eye on them not thinking that they were two thieves. Somehow these two guys walked out with my fathers Dewalt Impact drill that was on the basement table along with three rechargeable batteries. I'm a Police Sergeant so of course I took the necessary actions by filing a police report and i will continue to pursue further criminal actions. I contacted the company and was told that customer service will be contacting us, still waiting! This company has no idea who they are hiring, so with that being said please watch everyone this company have come out to your home with a CLOSE EYE. I do not recommend this company until they stop getting these criminals to work for them. Then after all of that I looked at the receipt and it says "customer was unavailable to sign", when me and my father were both they're at the home yet we were never asked to sign anything. I hired Stanley to clean my tiles and color the grout in the bathroom I was quoted $105 with my coupon. When they arrived they said I was quoted wrong and it would be $320 just for my small bathroom! It needed to be done so I agreed they ended up scuffing my tile with their machine and I was told a manger would have to come out to get the scuffs out. So I had to take another day off work for him to come out. He got majority of the scuffs off but now when cleaning I still see small tiny scuffs in the tile. Pretty much looks worse than it was before they came. All the guys that came out were extremely nice and polite but I'm just not happy with the outcome. read more

When they left my carpet was soaking wet well into the next day. They were having trouble with the truck, twice, and rather than offing to reschedule the job they did was awful. I'm so disappointed in the way Stanley Steamer did a sneak change for my price once they arrived to my apartment. We were quoted $150 and the price went up automatically $100 more because we lived in an apartment. We asked for specific prices for an apartment and gave them our apartment number. Once they arrived they said you know its an extra hundred because we have to use a portable. Our supervisor said to tell its because you live in an apartment. What!!!
