Dwayne did an absolutely AMAZING job! Every stain was removed from our carpets. He was also very careful not to bring debris in the house by using shoe covers. He was friendly, courteous, respectful of our property (furniture), and explained how the process worked prior to starting. We are so happy with our like-new carpets! Don't use Stanley Steemer. New management and turnover of staff has changed their service delivery. Used them in the past because of the expert service and customer responsiveness and I never had a problem. Now with Saxton managing the office he will send a one-person crew to your house. If he does, don't leave any room unattended. The man who came didn't remove spots, damaged an expensive baseboard to the bed. There was also property missing from the bedroom. He also had issues running 2 credit cards, which should have been another red flag. When addressing it with Saxton he was dismissive and protective of his staff and non-responsive to the needs of the customer. Before the service tech left he said to stay off the carpeting for 24 hours. Since I had great service in the past I relied on that and didn't notice until late in the evening all of these flaws. No one else was on the 2nd floor and in the house and all steps were re-traced and the conclusion is that the property was missing. So if you want property missing, a below average cleaning and issues with management then take this location out for a test drive. You will be disappointed. I was an advocate of Stanley Steemer for 2 years because of the previous techs, but with what happened in July, they wont be back or trusted in the home again. read more

After waiting for a while called the company at 2pm after the rude and inconsiderate employee parked her van in the very narrow street blocking off the whole street for around an hour and refusing to move her van. After speaking with the company, they claimed that they would call their employee and have her move the van. This situation not only impeded me from getting to my house but also impeded multiple neighbors from going in and out of their own street. After forcing us to miss important appointments the employee decided to stop blocking the street around 02:30 pm. Not to mention we tried to talk to her to move to let us in and out, as well as it being illegal to block a residential street due to the possibility of emergency. read more

Stanley Steemer was hired by my insurance company to extract/dry flooded finished basement. Two workers arrived within an hour, set up their equipment, and began the extraction. Left 2 industrial dehumidifiers and a few fans running. Returned the second day to measure moisture, etc. Second day the insurance company denied claim but said that they were liable for the first day of SS service. I hired SS the second day because equipment was already set up and I needed the finished basement dried so mold could not begin. I was not provided with the cost up front, they did not go over each item's charge, and was told that no personal checks above $500 were accepted. Had to give credit card info for $1,600!!!! Upon hiring them, they took pictures, measured moisture and plugged in 4 additional fans. Third day they measured moisture and took pictures. Fourth day no one showed up. On last day they showed up at 9 am with no notice, which shortened my full days of service by approximately 5-6 hours. I reviewed the e-invoice (all done via tablet) and saw that I was charged an emergency fee and a set up fee (they had already been set up day B4 so no emergency on my part and set up fee should have been paid by insurance company for the first day). Contacted customer service and someone called to inform me that they would contact the local independently owned SS to call me. They called and agreed that I should not have been charged an emergency fee but would not budge on charging me set up fee, so SS got paid twice for set up! They refunded the emergency fee but did not include the tax I paid on it. In addition, the report said that they were at my home each day to measure moisture and monitor but never showed up on one of the days yet made up moisture levels for the report. Deceptive for sure. I tried several times via email to get a resolution on my case (was given a case ID number), but 2 months have gone by and I haven't received any response. I have been completely ignored. Do not hire the Plains/Wilkes Barre PA Stanley Steemer if it's an emergency; they'll overcharge you and you will be ignored if any issues are brought up to them. I would leave a "zero" if I could. We just moved into our house 3 days ago. We hired Stanley Steemer out of Wilkes Barre. We paid them $530 for one hours work. Our house.is 3000 sf amd the carpeted areas are 1600 sf. How can you carpet.clean a family room, set of stairs, hallway amd 3 bedrooms in an hour? Easy, you.u load and setup.for 10 minutes, Load back up another 10 minutes and RIP through as fast as you can by getting the carpet damp. My wife has swept up load after load of filth. My 82 year old parents had a few rooms in their home cleaned by Stanley Steemer of Wilkes Barre PA. The immediate reaction to the process was a success. But the next day they found stains in their carpet from the technician kneeling on the carpet to put these plastic protectors underneath their wooden furniture. these spots are no where else just exactly where this technician placed his knee to insert the plastic protector. they have put my parents through the ringer in trying to get this corrected. They returned the next day and attempted to rectify the situation but their efforts did now work. The attempted again on additional days with again no success, and quite honestly they made some spots even worse. My parents just wanted their carpets cleaned. Now they have these spots. They did get a cost for replacing the carpet and requested that Stanley Steemer take care of this. Stanley Steemer, Jessie, the manager instead hired a "third party" company to come look at the carpet. They paid for this gentleman to fly in from Somerset, PA on his private plane with his pilot. When this third party, Jim, was asked what he was paid to fly in for this carpet inspection, his answer was that they certainly made it worth his while. So imagine the cost! The cost to replace the damaged carpet would be less than $2,000. Fueling up the plan and paying this gentleman and his pilot had to well exceed $2000. This third party company, Magic Mist, who says they have no connection to Stanley Steemer? Well he says that the spot is chemical. I am not exactly sure what that means and i do not yet have the report but i am completely dissatisfied that this company is taking advantage of these senior citizens who have worked hard their whole life for what they have to avoid having to replace a carpet that did not have spots until Stanley Steemer "cleaned" the carpet. This third party vendor pointed out the Stanley Steemer is a large company. So why exactly would they spend all this money to avoid correcting their mistake. We will reach out to the Attorney General as well as the local magistrate. This is clearly a big company pushing around two senior citizens. read more

Recently booked Stanley Steemer to come in and clean all our floors in preparation for a new baby. When the crew showed up they talked to me about the quote I got online, told me about some additional services and gave me a new quote. We agreed on a price and I left for 2 hours to let them do their thing. When I returned to the house, the price he had given me RIGHT before I left, had now gone up and the technician couldn't explain why, he just told me it was a "mistake by the office". Once they left I gave a closer inspection to their work, and it was not good. There were spots that they clearly missed on a basic hardwood floor. I booked Stanley Steemer for a professional clean, and the results look like something I could have achieved with a Swiffer and a vacuum. The regional manager called me to smooth things over, but the best he could do was offer to send them back to clean again. No thanks. The work was poor quality, and the techs either don't understand the pricing, or are pulling shady practices to scam customers, either way it is unacceptable. I had my carpets cleaned and deodorized. The cleaning was alright however the deodorizing was very bad. It smelled just as bad as it was before they started. The extra cost was not worth it. I will never use them again. I called them about the deodorizing and they were not very helpful. Not happy with service!!! I did not have the exact amount for them so they told me they don't have any change. So it cost me an extra $15.00. read more
