I recently moved into my new place and wanted the carpet cleaned. Our entry stairs are the only carpeted area and they took a beating to all the trips bringing inside. I knew I wanted to get them professionally cleaned, and I ended up going with my friend's suggestion. It was easy to schedule via chat. Just like Comcast, you pick a day and schedule a 4 hour window. I saw a deal online for 2 bedrooms for $99. Since I only have carpet on the 14 stairs, that's all I was interested in having cleaned. They charge $5 per stair and since that didn't exceed $99, I opted to add the carpet protection (around $40). There's a $25 service fee added to the process too. I ended up spending about $140. Ernesto was the cleaner that showed up on the desired date. He called me 20 minutes prior to arrival to give me fair warning. The whole time he was very friendly and informative. He was courteous about where he parked and the whole process maybe took about 30-40 minutes. He let me know when he was done and it was a very easy process. I would book them in the future when needed.

The first technician left too much water in the carpet on one of the staircases which led to mold, then their attempt to fix by charging us for a bio treatment left the staircase stinking of a Raid bug spray smell that would not come out. Zero Rez has done Zero to correct their mistakes and in running our carpet. The three rooms, hallway and one set of stairs turned out decent. The second set of stairs has been a nightmare. The original technician did not pull up enough water after the application. After 24 hours everything was dry except the one staircase and the bottom landing. It was still soaking, and I mean soaking wet. We placed fans in the staircase to help dry it out. All to no avail. We called customer service after 24hrs, and they sent out another technician the next day. Carpet now soaking wet for over 48hrs. The second technician attempted to pull some of the excess water out of the carpet on the stairs that had now been sitting soaking wet for going on 48 hours. At the 72hr mark a horrible smell of mold was overwhelming in the staircase. We called customer service again and had to wait for Mike the Manager/supervisor to approve another visit. He said it would not be good to re-clean the carpet and that they would treat it instead with a Bio compound and deodorizer. The next day another technician applied the Bio compound. The mold smell was replaced with the smell of the Bio compound which smells like Raid bug spray. Another 24 hours later (total time to completely dry = 144 hours) and the carpet in the stairwell is now dry but there is a lingering smell of the bio compound which smells like heavy bug spray. We called and spoke with customer service who could not help and had to transfer us to leave a message with Mike the Manager but received no call back and no attempt to resolve the Zero Rez caused problem. Adding insult to injury the original technician took a photo of our credit card front and back. Very suspicious. We received our invoice, and we were charged an extra $150.00 for the Bio treatment. We have since cancelled our CC and had to have a new one issued. We also have family coming to visit and with no help at all from Zero Rez or Mike the Manager to resolve the issue they created we have been forced to replace the carpet on the stairs at a cost of $1,400.00. It is the only way to get the Raid bug spray smell out of our stairs and home.

OK, this review is not regarding their actual cleaning methods because after waiting almost 3 weeks…read morefor their appointment to clean my 2 large wool oriental rugs and a large cotton berber, on the date of the appointment, the owner told me that the only way he would be able to clean them is if I signed a complete waiver regarding his work. Of course, I wasn't going to do that. When I initially answered his wife's very specific questions over the phone - they are a husband and wife team - about the type of rugs I had, she gave me a price and a date that they would be out to complete the work. I had told her that 2 of them were large wool oriental rugs and rested on finished hardwood. She told me that the way they do the job protects both the rugs and the floors. There was NO indication from her that they might not be able to do the work on oriental rugs. Upon arriving, 3 weeks later, the owner tells me that they may need to be dipped to potentially prevent any dyes from running. That was before he even saw the rugs. After seeing them he said he wasn't sure what kind of dyes they were ... but if I signed the waiver he would proceed. I was in a time bind but still refused to sign the waiver. I had visitors arriving from out of town in 11 days. He said that if I didn't sign the waiver I needed to call someone else to have them dipped (he had no idea who dipped them). This company's phone estimates are worthless and a significant amount of time is lost if you wait for them to come out to "do the work." If they had done a true estimate - coming out and actually looking at the rugs for the 10 minutes the guy was here, I would have known what was required of them to do the work. Then I would have skipped their company and immediately looked elsewhere. But hey, not to worry, the guy apologized and that makes everything OK, right? What you do with this knowledge is up to you.
