I brought in a pair of broken eyeglasses which I didn't buy there to be fixed with new screw. Ismael took care of them immediately. It turned out the the frame was broken and needed to be replaced. He showed me the difference and it made sense. He had a similar frame which was on discount. The glasses had to be grounded out which I wasn't charged for. My new eyeglasses came out perfect in 10 minutes. I am so happy with the services, especially with Ismael!!! He said he loved his job and loved helping people! Absolutely terrible customer service, run by young adults who lack professionalism, work ethic, and basic customer service skills. The actual eye doctor was good, and the exam for my 6-year-old son went well. We were told his eyes were healthy and that he did not need glasses. However, immediately afterward, the manager contradicted this by saying my son would need glasses for an astigmatism--something the doctor never mentioned. When I asked for clarification, the manager said he'd be back in a minute, then proceeded to spend over 15 minutes chatting casually with an off-the-clock coworker. While waiting, I picked up a retail pair of blue-light glasses for my son, clearly marked at $24.99. When I went to pay for the exam and glasses, everything turned into a confusing mess. I never received a clear explanation of why my son supposedly needed glasses. The exam was supposed to be $10 with insurance, but I was then charged an undisclosed $39 retinal scan fee that was never explained or offered as optional before the appointment. To make matters worse, the staff told me that if I didn't use my "full benefits," I would lose them--but no one could explain why or how that worked. Typically, front office staff in a medical setting are knowledgeable about insurance and billing. That was clearly not the case here. The staff and manager seemed uninterested in helping or working with customers. The entire experience felt like a push to upsell unnecessary services and products under the guise of insurance benefits. Overall, this place feels disorganized, misleading, and unprofessional. I assumed they were better quality and considering after I grabbed them I was hoping to get hard cases, instead they gave me those cheap cloth ones. After my intital appt i needed to go back in for a recheck and was told i needed to pay for a retinal scan. When i tried to ask what that was for i was treated like an idiot and still had no further explanation as to why i needed it or why i had to pay for the wrong prescription. The first issue is that when you book an appointment online, there is absolutely nothing that indicates that you will NOT be seen by an actual doctor during your exam. When you arrive, they don't tell you that you won't be seen by a doctor for your exam, nor at any time during the entire time you are there. They work on commission, so ignore what you tell them you want, do not disclose all offers for discounts or specials they are running, or offer the lowest end products even when asked. They charge about $40 more than any other place online for contact lenses. They did not check my prescription glasses when I picked them up and it turns out the prescription I was given was completely wrong. I originally went to the Clovis location and they only have a virtual optometrist, but still did the appt back in August. When my contacts came back they didn't fit my eyes correctly, but I didn't try them immediately as I wear glasses 95% of the time. By the time I returned to the Clovis store to report the problem, they said that I'd need my eyes rechecked by an actual Dr, which they don't have. They told me I'd have to make an appt at the Blackstone location. They let me know since it's been over 30 days I would have to pay a re-check fee of $29.99. Not happy but okay, my fault for taking too long I guess. A week or so later is when I had my appt here at Blackstone and Herndon. Place is dirty and smells. Many of the frames on display are dusty or have greasy fingerprints. The layout is unclear as to which station is what, and there is not a good flow. I was unsure of where to go when 1st walking in, and noticed several others doing the same after me. They reviewed my chart then told me now it's been over 60 days so I have to start from scratch and do an entire new patient exam for the original cost. Don't remember the exact dollar amount, but something to the effect of $160. Now I'm pissed and I walked out. I will never return to any Stanton location for future services. 0 stars. read more

Made an appointment for 4:30. At 5 I go ask them about it, and THEN they tell me they double booked for the day. They didn't think they should call people and tell them that, or tell us as we walk in that we will be waiting forever now because of this. They also lied about taking Medical, which a guy on the phone told me that they did. THEN on their tablet is says $69 for an eye exam. When I talk to someone there, it magically goes up to $98. The absolute WORST service. They have every excuse in the world for their inability to give even decent customer service. The 2 for 1 is a total rip-off. After weeks of getting the run-a-round, they finally credited my account and I bought one pair (which is all I really wanted) from Costco on W. Shaw for less than half of Stanton's charges and enjoyed excellent Customer Service. If you are not a Costco member, join. You will save the annual membership fee every time you enter the warehouse. Called to make appointment and they were unable to tell me if my visit would be covered by my insurance. First red flag. After waiting for 45 minutes on my appointment day I was told there would be a $40 surcharge in addition to my copay for my eye exam. The Dr would not give me an eyeglasses prescription unless I allowed him to chemically dilate my eyes, insisting that it was his "routine." Not great, friends. Cannot recommend. The process is not consumer friendly. They provide you a tablet and have you sign digital forms and DO NOT GIVE YOU A COPY! They automatically check record your conversation and video you so they can say, not justify, that they told you something. I asked for copies of the documents as they charged me for a service I did not request. They said I did and clerk kept being abrupt that they did. She brought a manager and the manager printed out the forms I signed and as I kept focusing on, they didn't inform me of a service they provided, but charged me for it. Use a credit card so you can dispute any charges that you were not informed of. Shelves were very dirty and dusty and many frames were made of cheap plastic and would easily break. Saw a few customers who were there for that reason. They were attempting to charge me more, for putting new lenses in my old glasses, than I paid at Costco for new lenses to be placed in my old glasses and for a new pair of sunglasses! While Costco doesnt have same day, they have savings and quality. read more

I asked for a quote for one year supply and the girl told me $800. When I told her I can get it from somewhere cheaper, she then said $460. I asked the doctor inside the exam room to compare my new prescription to my old prescription. He didn't understand, but I said, and just mumbled some words. Go to target optical people. Came here because it was open on a sunday (not really common) and it was pretty late too but still managed to get my first eye exam and was able to purchase prescription lenses for my ray bans club masters! It took less than a week for it to be ready to pick up and I was very happy with the end result. Customer service was helpful and knowledgable which made me feel less nervous bout the process. And to top it off, they have a good variety of music and the employees laughed at my jokes so that's always a plus. Worst eye exam ever. Homeless people, camping, and sleeping outside of Fresno Blackstone . Ants all over the counters no soap in the room to take out contacts and technicians were watching TV in there and had to be asked to leave the room so I could change my contacts. I was told multiple different prices for the eye exam within a 15 minute period before seeing the doctor. Glasses are very overpriced. My insurance would've covered majority of any eye exam, but they were charging so much out-of-pocket. It was crazy just for an exam. read more

I bought my glasses from Stanton opt I cal a few years ago, woke up one morning and a screw had Backes out of one of the handles, took it down to Stanton where a ni e lady promptly repaired my glasses even though my warranty had expired. Just appreciate that kind of service, and of course, I will be a repeat customer. Their frame selections are of great quality, and the tech knew what they were doing g and helped me with every stage from picking out the frames that fit my face to adding what I needed with glasses. I have taken my mom there. She does not have vision insurance. They were very happy to set and appointment for her. Once we got there, they took very good care of her. My mother who is 90 was very happy with the treatment she received since she had never been to an eye doctor. Her glasses were ready with in a two week time period. Had to go back again because I needed to get seeing glasses for my mother. They took her in the same day and she was instantly helped since they already had her prescription. She picked out her frame and we were done. Many glasses are made in the store but with my mother, her prescription has to be sent out. I love the service at this location. read more

From an eye apt with a virtual dr to being charged separately for everything when they advertise something completely different . The guy knew u needed these same day for a dm apt I have coming up they needed to send mine out but he said u could pick them up next day for the apt than we can send them in for the progressive lease. That did not happen they just sent them in anyways. I called but you get the customer we have line and if the store is busy they "leave a message" so you can't really talk to anyone. Received a text from Stanton offering a "one day only free eye exam", Followed the link to schedule an appointment at the Fresno/Pinedale store. Arrived early, went to the exam desk, was informed it would be 29.00 dollars for the "eye health test" so that the attending Dr. could gauge my eye health. Told the receptionist I received a text for a FREE exam and I was fine without that test, was told "sorry, you can't see a live Dr. then, it will only be a virtual exam". Informed her, nothing in the link stated that, only that it was a FREE exam. Looked at me like I was an idiot. Really Stanton, still using "Bait & Switch" tactic ? How pathetic. I have read quite a few recent reviews and I cannot disagree with most of what was said. I will add that the condition of both the grounds, the building and the inside of the building were in a state of obvious disrepair. There was trash in the parking lot, graffiti on the building, the carpet was filthy and just a general run down look to the walls and display cases. Customer service is painful - I made an appointment this past Sunday and there were only 2 sales reps working and approximately 30 people needing assistance. I spent three hours there, between the check in, the exam and ordering my glasses. On a positive note, I was able to get 2 pairs the next day, which was very helpful, and the two reps were working very hard and doing their best to accommodate the workload. In regard to the exam, it was a bit disconcerting to have a remote Dr. doing the exam, and there was no feedback as to whether there were any issues with my eyes. Overall, not a great experience and I will not be coming back for any future eyeglass / exam needs. Follow up to business owner response: I think I was pretty clear what some of the issues were during my visit...your response to all of us who give less than positive reviews is pretty disingenuous. recommendations would be: clean your grounds, wash your windows, take care of the graffiti in a timely manner, brush the cobwebs off the building and glass, vacuum and have carpets professionally cleaned, wash the walls or repaint, be clear about the telecommuting Dr, let customers know what was or wasn't discovered in the "exam", hire more staff, if understaffing will be the norm-limit the number of appointments and advise customers how long the wait will be, provide better signage do customers know where to go for exam vs pickup...that should get you guys started. read more

The whole goal of this place is to sell you glasses. It's a frame mill. I don't trust the exam I got - it was a remote session with someone, somewhere with remote control over the exam machine. The sales guy tried to scare me into buying glasses there - which I had no intention of doing after looking over their inventory. Something about "I talked to another woman who said coming here for an exam and then trying to purchase glasses elsewhere said they used all of her insurance and she couldn't buy anywhere else." Okay guy! Staff was all BSing rather than helping or engaging customers. If you like their inventory, maybe buy glasses here, but they don't have your optical health in mind.
