I was due to order my annual boxes of contacts and needed an eye exam first. Stanton was relatively new in Kenosha so I decided to give them a try. I was a little taken aback when I was walked into an exam room and left in there with a virtual doctor up on a screen. The rest of the appointment was rather uneventful, but the biggest problem came afterward. They wouldn't print me a prescription, but said they would email it. I did not receive the email, so after two weeks of waiting I ordered contacts from a "big name" online retailer. I selected for them to verify my prescription. When they contacted Stanton, they were told that my prescription was expired. It has been 3 weeks since my exam. When calling, you can select "new patient" or "speak to someone regarding my prescription". When I selected second option, I waited on hold for 33 minutes before hanging up and trying again. Second time I waited on hold for 22 minutes before hanging up. Third time I selected "new patient" and was able to speak to someone within 1 minute. However, when I told them I was in need of my prescription, I was placed back on hold. Waited another 25 minutes before a human picked up. From there, I was told 4 different times that my prescription was expired after being put on hold again "to look into it" in between each time they said that. Again, I was just seen a few weeks ago, and explained this to them and gave them the date. I asked to speak to the manager multiple times and the person on the phone wouldn't acknowledge my request. When I finally INSISTED on speaking with a manager and that I now wanted a refund from my eye exam just weeks before if they were not able to provide me with a prescription, I was told that one would call me back but it would take up to two business days. When I agreed to this (not happy with two days, but I was getting nowhere otherwise), I was told "I'm sorry ma'am but you are correct, your prescription is not expired". Took me over two hours to get that fixed. Then we had an issue with the length of time it would take them to correct the issue. In the end, I've been on the phone either on hold or speaking with someone for 2 hours and 13 minutes. They answer quickly when it's someone wanted to give them money, but once you've already paid them, they want nothing to do with you. Be aware, this place is not worth the headache. This has quite literally been the worst experience working with this company. I've never had glasses before and was having issues seeing (near) distance. Went in for an eye exam and they gave me a "prescription," and now I can't see long distances. Prescription=wrong. I understand their need to send out to their office in FL (due to COVID) to have the frames and lenses put together. It's a two week turnaround. Ok, got my glasses after the two week window and not even a month later, the frame breaks. I went in to the store, the gentleman said they had a replacement frame in stock; he couldn't find it. So, another two weeks for new frames. Called after the two weeks (never received a call from them), and they still were not in. I asked another associate to locate the one they had in stock, and WOW she found it. Went in to have the frames swapped out, the associate cracked my lenses putting them in the new frames. TWO MORE WEEKS FOR NEW LENSES. Never. Never again going here. I'll choose real eye doctors next time with professionals that know how to effectively do their job. read more

There is so much wrong with my experience at Stanton Optical, I'll just hit the key points for brevity: 1) Only one person seems to know what is going on at any time. The rest just shrug and point helplessly. The employees seemed unfamiliar with the eye testing equipment, and the software they had seemed to never work. 2) There is no optometrist there. You are at the mercy of some skype'd in eye "doctor" that may or may not guess correctly. 3) My initial prescription was incorrect. I had to re-do it, and my contact lens prescription is still incorrect. There is no way my eyes are better now than they were 7 years ago, but their latest prescription indicates that. 4) After receiving my glasses with the incorrect prescription about 4 hours after my eye exam on a day where I was among maybe 3 customers, it took them over 48 hours to get me correct glasses. Apparently the one person who could do anything with glasses simply didn't show up one day, and no answer for why nothing happened the day after. 5) The price is as much or higher for competing more competent eye care places. I honestly received better service, prices, and correct prescriptions from Walmart's optical center when I went there in a pinch. With all due respect to the 2 females working there that were the only competent people on duty at the time, I cannot recommend anyone going to such an amateur operation. read more

Although being from out of town ( Virginia) while I was visiting my daughter had to pick up her glasses from there so I just browsed their selection. I had been looking for a new pair of glasses for over a year and I can't believe I found exactly what I was looking for at this location! Although it was a little peculiar having a remote optician, the equipment is a essentially the same but controlled elsewhere. Because this is new technology The customer should be cognizant of how the contraption seats on their face. If it's not sitting properly then of course you'll get a different prescription results. Upon my return I explained the prescription was wrong and they offered to remake the glasses and then mail them to me! When they came they were perfect! Albeit they needed to be fitted to my face but I just went to Costco and that was done on the spot! Very happy with my experience and I would have no regrets of using them in the future! read more
