The optometrist was very sweet to my son. We were seen immediately, so no wait time. Delilah was our tech and she was exceptional. Friendly, helpful and made us laugh. My son had a comfortable experience and that's good enough for me. I definitely recommend Pearle Vision.

Since they originally issued my prescription, I figured they could provide it quickly. I asked if they could give me the standard DMV vision letter. They told me the doctor "wasn't in," but then said that if I did a vision test and my prescription stayed the same, they could give me the report. Based on that assurance, I agreed and paid $90 for a new exam. After the test, they confirmed my prescription hadn't changed -- but then refused to give me the DMV report anyway. At that point it felt like a complete scam. Their refusal meant I couldn't complete my same-day appointment and had to start the whole DMV process over on another day. Because they wouldn't provide the report, I ended up buying a new pair of glasses I didn't even need just so I could finish my DMV renewal during the limited time I was in town. The glasses weren't optional -- their refusal forced me into it. I'm extremely disappointed. The staff gave me information that turned out to be false, wasted my time, cost me money I didn't need to spend, and left me without the simple document I came in for. Completely unprofessional and absolutely not a place I'd ever trust again.

You start in one room for initial screening. After that you move to a second room, sit in a comfortable chair that rolls so smoothly you wonder if it's actually in touch with the ground or floating via mag lev. Finally you go to a third and final room where she finishes the exam, shares test results, and orders any lenses you need. I received one or two tests no other optometrist has given me, including a peripheral vision test. It was a great experience, very professional.

Without any questions, after they saw the glasses, they stood by their warranty and ordered new frames. (Unfortunately they were not in stock). I was told it would take a few weeks. A week or so later, I received a call from them letting me know there was a backorder on that frame from the manufacturer - not their fault but frustrating we'd have to wait and use an outdated prescription for a while - we're talking months of backorder. However, a few weeks later they called to say they were able to get them replaced sooner. So, we picked up the new glasses within the week of getting their call. While they are more expensive than the chain optical stores or stores like Costco, they stand by their work and provide "service with a smile."

There was a black-haired man in Optical also--I don't know if he's still there. The last time I was there, I'd asked him a question about the way my glasses rested on my face. At first, he dismissed me. When I pressed for an answer, he became agitated, scowling and loudly telling me he didn't "understand." I tried to calmly explain again as he stood there, arms crossed with the scowl on his face until a kind, blonde woman intervened. There was some expected stinging the first 1-2 hours post-op which can be alleviated with some comfort drops that they send you home with. They also provide other eye drops that you will need the next two weeks so that was great. Slept after putting in some comfort drops, and woke up with no discomfort and was able to see 20/20. Yay!

How many Doctors do you…read moreknow that will take a call 5 minutes before they close on a Saturday, telling them that you have been referred from an urgent care doctor that "couldn't find anything wrong"? Dr. Atwell is the answer. He goes out of his way to take care of his patients. Usually I show up at the end of the year to get new glasses and that us usually that. His office didn't hesitate to stick around make sure I was cared for at the highest standard, given a prescription, a personal cell phone number in case things didn't get better with stern directions to call, and a follow up appointment "anytime you can come in" Monday. Dr Atwell is not a typical 9-5 doctor, he is a rare breed of physician that cares for his patients, will bend over backwards for his patients and provides the best standard of care. Batavia is a small town and more people need to know about Dr. Atwell. He and his staff are hidden gems in our little town. If you need eye care, even if its glasses, contacts or medical issues, you need Dr. Atwell. I haven't found anyone else that compares.
