The vibe has changed there also since being purchased by Eyecare Specialties of Illinois. It seems that anytime a healthcare provider is purchased by one of these companies, care starts to decline, but pricing increases. We were called again this year to change our appointments. We are tired and do not wish to drive almost two hours round trip for this continued reduced care. We will find someone closer. :-(

Dr Horner proved that my first (emergency) appointment this past summer; where it was blatantly obvious to me a newbie to eye care needs; that she left my previous eye doctor at the starting gate at med-school. Dr Horner was through, accurate, concerned, compassionate and aggressive at correcting immediate eye care needs as well as quickly detailing an action plan for weeks to months forward. I have been having eye issues and I can't thank the Johnson Eye Care team for being so patient and focused on helping me. I have been wearing glasses since I have been a kid and was extremely impressed with how sophisticated all of the equipment their equipment was. It's extremely professional and was able to get to the root of the issues with my issue while Dr Schoepke did a deep look into what I have going on. Being that I am a very technical person ... I was geeking out with all the gear the have ( can you tell ). Oh btw no Air blowing in your eyes here to check your pressure... on top of it Dr Schoepke said those tests are no very reliable. Here's the deal... a year ago I was told from sketchy Dr in the western suburbs that I have a rare eye issue and I would have to go to Canada to stop for going blind in the future. I was relieved that this is not true and the issue I have just needs to be monitored. I have had a weight on my shoulders since that last visit.... I can believe I waited this long. To top it off the they have a great selection of glasses and Mary was extremely helpful picking out the right frames for me. Big thank you to the Johnson Eye care Team. She did a very thorough exam, discussed everything in detail and answered every question I had. She is a wonderful Dr who cares about her patients. The experience was positive, from making the appointment on the phone to getting help picking out frames for glasses, and placing the order. Kudos to all the staff at Johnson Eye Care!
