I'm sharing my personal experience so others can make informed decisions. On January 17th, I visited Stanton Optical for a contact lens exam as a first-time contact wearer. After the exam, I was told to return a few days later for trial lenses. During my follow-up visits, I did not receive hands-on instruction for inserting or removing contacts and was advised to purchase a tool online to help. After using the tool, I had difficulty removing the lens and returned to the office multiple times. I was told there was no lens in my eye. However, I continued to experience ongoing irritation and discomfort and sought care at urgent care, where I was given antibiotic drops as a precaution. Several weeks later, the contact lens came out of my eye. Due to the overall experience and continued discomfort, I returned to request a refund, which was provided. I encourage first-time contact lens wearers to ensure they receive thorough instruction and feel confident with insertion and removal before leaving any provider. If I could give negative stars I would. Beware of Stanton Optical. Non existent customer service and sub quality products. When my husband and I went into the store to check on an issue, the staff acted like they cared and would assist in correcting the issue. Once we approached the door to leave, we heard them laughing and mocking us. Very rude and unprofessional. The store on 71st & Sheridan will give you a contact high from the shop next door. Everything should improve. Ordered glasses and they came in late. When I received them the quality was awful. I returned them and they never sent the money back to my insurance company. I have to agree with others who posted here. This location needs help. The Latina salesperson is not only rude but deliberately combative as, like some have said, she is just miserable with her job. Maybe dealing with the public is not her forte. I would advise no one to use this provider. It took six plus weeks to get a simple pair of glasses. I ordered two pair but only one pair came in and the salesperson wasn't too interested in finding out why nor discovering when they would be ready. They are happy to take your money but not at all concerned about getting your merchandise to you. If you buy glasses at this store make sure you get frames that are in stock at the store and that your glasses don't have to be sent off to some mysterious lab. I don't think they could fail any more than they already do. Unprofessional, no one ever seems to know what they are doing. The sales reps always seem to be frustrated and miserable with their job. I paid for the 2-year subscription, when I went back for my 2nd year exam, they tried to make me pay for it. It took speaking to multiple people to get it sorted out. My exam was in November and they switched me to a brand that makes my eyes dry. I called in April to ask about changing the brand and they said I would have to pay for a whole new eye exam to get the BRAND updated. I called several other eye doctors in the area, many of which said that they get A LOT of frustrated customers switching over from Stanton to them. They also all assured me that I can come back any time and try on new contact brands and they will never refuse to switch me if I'm uncomfortable in what I have. I am switching to the place right across the street from them and I could not be more relieved to never go back to that place again. read more

Stanton Optical is a scam! They have virtual exams, don't give you honest exams! They told my husband he had astigmatism to charge him more for his contact lenses, when he got home to try on the contacts he couldn't even see out of the contacts. We looked at his prescription from his optometrist for his eyeglasses and astigmatism was never diagnosed. When I called Stanton to tell them they didn't even apologize they said to take the old prescription from the other optometrist and they would go off that prescription. The sales men were so sketchy. When they were figuring out total cost of my glasses he was covering price list with his hand and trying to calculate in his head, it was very strange. Not to mention $309 for glasses with insurance. Paid extra for contact lens eye exam because it included a "free 30 day trial" which I never received. Had to keep calling over and over and finally they only gave 7day trial. Super frustrated that they don't honor what they said they would. Run from Stanton Optical. They took my $$$ 5 months ago and still have not delivered on any of their "promises". Heck I can't even speak to anyone to resolve the issues. Stay away from them. All confidence has been damaged by this business. I went in on May 28,2022, was treated well by who I learned turned out to be a temporary employee. I selected 4 pairs of frames, was upsold on services and products (4 pairs with all the bells and whistles in 2 years for $x amount, Contact lenses, Sunbit) on a $750+ purchase that to this day-10/19/22 has not been fulfilled. I was also promised a sample pair of CL since my rx power was not in stock and it had to be ordered. I got the message my order was ready, when I sent someone to pick it up nothing was there nor ready to pick up. I was promised my order would be shipped since nothing was ready to be picked up in early June. What was shipped in late July/early August were only 2 pairs of frames with no prescription lenses in them. Ever since then there has been ABSOLUTELY NO ONE available to do anything to bring resolve. I have even requested to leave messages with the Customer Service/call center dept for someone at the store to get in contact with me. Nil. I have been in contact with their customer service/call center number (877-518-5788) trying to resolve my issue of not receiving what I paid for. When I call the local store numbers (918-550-5297, 539-242-5684, 918-215-4252), there is no answer and the call is transferred to Stanton's cust srvc line (the 877#). Each representative spews the scripted "promise to make it right" but it's a scam because they cannot find my order anymore and the only option they give me is to call the store number. They have frequent turnover of staff and managers as I have spoken to 3 different managers since I made my purchase. All who promise "this is not the standard at which they operate". When I called the Customer service/cal cener number last week, I was given the name of yet a different manager and the same number to call because they can no longer locate my order. I would like to get a FULL REFUND and ALL my money back and not ever have to deal with this establishment in any capacity ever again. Just an update to my previous review. I received an email asking why I missed my appointment and wanting me to reschedule. ( I didn't miss the appointment the doctor did). Today I received another email asking me to reschedule. I looked and there is nowhere to request them to remove me from their email nor is there any way for me to remove all of the medical information that I filled out on line before going to my appointment. I realize I require progressives, so that part is a given, but if single vision glasses can be 2 for $79 (I haven't heard of anyone who actually got that deal), should progressives be almost $400??? I should have known better when I walked into an "eye clinic" that was blasting twerk anthems and synth-pop. I briefly considered dropping it like it was hot, but was wordlessly handed one of numerous flashy but inoperative iPads to sign in. Even if the receptionist had greeted me, I wouldn't have heard her over those beats, man. If I knew I was going to an eye doctor rave, I would have excitedly dropped some X and ate some edibles in the parking lot. The appointment was held over a video conference. It was strange. I've worn a -9.5 lens for 15 years but y'all determined that I miraculously and puzzlingly gained back some of my degenerative sight. She's HEALED, halleluiah! JK, your interwebz doctor messed up my prescip... But I digress.. Afterwards the vision employee left me sans contacts (blind af) to stumble to the adjoining store. I ended up standing in the lobby and calling my boyfriend on his cell to come over and escort me as the seemingly mute receptionist just sat there. Nice. Modeled after similar aggressive upselling companies such as Victoria's Secret, Stanton must do well with vapid customers who can be cajoled and flirted into blithely signing up for a credit card that was designed for financing people getting surgery in HIGH-END PLASTIC SURGERY OFFICES. I still cant process your business legitimizing or rationalizing this. I signed up for a credit card once to go to Scotland, BUT CONTACT LENSES?! Who applies for a line of credit for A HUNDRED BUCKS?! Exactly what the in the circus sideshow hell is going on here? The slyly concealed greed of taking advantage of unassuming people without disposable income is pretty gross, man. As expected, the commission-hungry associate became curt in answers and willingness to help me when I asked for what was implicitly advertised in their coupon. Nice professional selling behavior, dude. Way to alienate your price-conscious marketing pool, Stanton. I have never felt so awkward and almost ashamed of having a coupon...in a store that paints its coupon deals on its storefront window ten feet frickin neon high. I concluded that I was being gaslighted for sick entertainment purposes by some sociopathic and/or sadist-driven social experiment front, and that Ashton Kutcher was gonna spring out from behind the counter with a trucker hat on. Your store is pretty much a seedy used-car lot ran by entitled hipsters that give side-eye and wedgies for not being cool enough to bend over for $500 wire frames on their super rad CREDIT CARD, GUYS. Meanwhile, I couldnt even hear myself think with brostep 200 beats-a-minute techno music blaring and bass practically vibrating spectacles off the shelves. Those edibles are sounding good, man, because at this point your store is giving me a 5-star panic attack just recalling it. You cant tell me that music appeals to anyone post-puberty and not having a midlife crisis IN A "MEDICAL" OFFICE SETTING. This isn't Forever 21, I don't wanna disclose my medical info to y'all and then be interrupted with "bust it open". I'm sweaty just recalling this. 2 weeks later: I never got my contacts shipped as promised. After my bf complained, they overnighted my lenses. We opened the box to see that my advertised 3 month supply is in fact 3 pairs of generic contacts aptly labeled, "sample, not for sale". I put them in and four days later the left contact started migrating off my iris. I tried a new pair and they lasted 9 days. I can't see out of them well anyways seeing as they are not a high enough strength, a whole point off. This whole place is such a trainwreck in the Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch variety. I can't even. They made no attempt to rectify this, in which a monetary recompensation (refund) is not only expected but unethical to deny myself or anyone else they rip off. Shame. The person over the phone doing the scheduling will say whatever to get you in the office. I asked if they take soonercare and he said they take all kinds of insurance. Get to the office and was told they are "out of network" and it would be a discounted exam at $25 dollars. The receptionist has no way to to handle that many people at one time, she stated that several times. I came 06/30/2019; had a great deal with $59 eye exam and cheap glasses too. Came again 06/30/2020 for a yearly check up and because I had lost one of my glasses. I was not satisfied with the service this time. My appointment was set for a certain time and I had to wait for an hour and a half to finally be seen. I brushed it off because I needed glasses so I then selected both pair of glasses I needed; they were running a buy one get one free promo. I selected two frames that were priced at $29 and was then charged more than last year for the lens. Last year my grand total didn't exceed $70, this year I paid over $110+. I felt like they were trying to meet their own commission but I wasn't pleased. My rating is based on waiting time, attitude from the concierge, pricing and overall experience. read more

My wife and I were looking for new glasses, and since this place was close to our optometrist, we decided to give it a shot. I would say this place had bad service, but the would imply there was any service to begin with. We browsed for a bit and after we found a couple pairs we wanted, we were instructed to have a seat and someone would come find us. We then watched as a couple who came in some time after us receive service. We also overheard another customer being told to sign in as she arrived. We had not been told there was a sign-in so my wife went to go let them know we've been waiting some time. The lady had her sign in and said we would be next. NOPE! We continued to be ignored as others after us were helped. The whole store and set-up was rather confusing with no clear direction. The store and its employees seemed very disorganized and a bit understaffed. I don't feel as though we were just unlucky, because other customers in the store seemed to be pretty upset as well. We ended up leaving our selections on the counter and leaving. I RARELY give bad reviews, because I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I like to think I am a very patient person. Their customer service is terrible. The call center is rude. I sat and waited on the phone to be transferred to the office on Sheridan and they could never get anyone to answer, the call would be transferred back to the call center and this went on and on. I never got through to them. I asked the call center about the glasses, they didn't know where they was. I never received notification on the glasses. So, i drove over there to find out that they was there and to come to find out my bifocals was off. The guy that was helping me argued with me trying to tell me that I needed to get used to them. I could not read out of them it was blurry. He blamed it on the distance. and then he told me that he didnt have to activate the transitions that it'll do it by themselves. That was a lie!!! Absolutely crazy warranty on lenses. I purchased two pair of glasses less than a year ago. One pair has multiple cracks around the edge of the lenses. I paid $397 for the two pair. I went to Stanton today to inquire if they were under warranty and was told that they were. I was then informed that my cost was $120 to get the lenses. She then went on to explain that the lenses were $600 and I had to pay 20% of that cost. When I stated that the lenses I purchased weren't $600 she then explained that I have to pay 20% of the full retail price without any discounts thus my fee of $120. This is absolutely crazy. I would have no issue if they charged 20% of what I paid...but 20% of their rack rate which no one pays is downright wrong. What a poor policy for customers with legitimate issues with the quality of the product. Take your business elsewhere as this is no way to generate repeat customers. read more

Both times they assured me they did only to be told at my appointment that they in fact do NOT but would offer me a discount on my exam. The receptionist says, "you must have spoken to our call center who doesn't know we were bought out 11 months ago." What does that even mean?? I just made my NINTH trip to their place of non-business to get a simple pair of glasses, and I live nearly 50 miles away - a 100 mile round trip. I have experienced them making my glasses different from my Rx, poor quality & workmanship, and lenses which did not fit the frames. All served with an attitude of "who cares". Stanton=The Shit Show My fiancé and I came in at noon on 6/27/20 and we didn't leave until close. They said our glasses would take 3-5 business days and that they would call us when they came in. Two weeks pass and still no call. So we check the website and they're in. We go pick them up and they still hadn't received my contacts and that it would be the 27th of July. Fast forward to today 8/8/20. I go in and said I need to pick up my contacts and was told I had to wait 20 minutes before they could help me. I sat down and 40 minutes pass meanwhile my lunch has officially gotten cold since I figured I'd be in and out real quick. The guy finally comes and gets my info and it's still not in yet. It's now been well over a month. They wanna feed me some bull excuse and give me test contacts but at this point I'll never rely on them again so I told them to refund my money and give me my prescription and I will take my business elsewhere. I paid cash so now I have to wait 30-60 days for my refund. Do not go there if you are in a time crunch. Don't go there period.
