I will preface this review by saying, Evangeline (the optician I was so fortunate to be assigned) MADE this entire experience a pleasure. The place itself is nice, the staff is polite enough and accommodating. If you get there on a weekday when they open, there is not much wait, if any and I don't think $59.00 for 2 pair of glasses (ready in about an hour) can be beat. Having said all of that, Evangeline is what really makes this a 5 star review. Stanton is lucky to have her in their employ. Helpful is an understatement and EVEN IF the place wasn't decent to start with, I'd go back just because of her. Went to Stanton because my normal civilian eye doctors office closed down. I have to pay out of pocket for an eye exam in order to get contacts. The front desk girl was quiet and seemed like she was just going through the motions. Would qualify her is overly friendly. Once I did the pre-exam testing, I was sat in the room alone and a doctor did the exam virtually from who knows where!? It was my first experience with a virtual eye exam where the equipment was controlled virtually. Very weird. Afterwards I met with another lady to get my contacts ordered, she was very kind and much friendlier. I ordered, paid and was on my way. No one contacted me when my contacts arrived so after waiting a few weeks I finally called and asked if they were ready. They were but no one could explain why I wasn't contacted. I don't recommend Stanton Optical at all. I had to switch eye doctors due to a change in my insurance. I called Stanton to verify that they accept my insurance and the representative could not tell me for sure. He stated they would tell me before my exam, which seemed strange, but I was able to get a Saturday appointment so it was convenient. My appointment was for 11:30 but I did not end up getting in until much later due to some scheduling issue. I was not aware that the visit with the doctor is telehealth, which would've been a good thing to know beforehand. I received my prescription and of course they tried to sell me glasses. I had to decline several times and only wanted my RX. I ordered glasses online with this new RX that only changed slightly and realized that my vision was blurry with them. I gave it some time and still blurry. I double checked the prescription and everything. Since I can still see with my old RX, I believe that there is a mistake with the prescription I was provided. Disappointed - no customer service! Initial visit doors were locked, and the person responded after knocking on doors twice. No doctors onsite! Never stated anywhere this would be a virtual doctor visit. It's been 2 weeks since I placed my order and they are not ready. a "GLITCH" and the order was not processed. No one followed-up to see why. Brian the manager has no idea when they will be ready. Not willing to take responsibility for their mistake. Tried local store earlier but after 30 minutes went to a phone survey. I was on hold for 45 minutes with their 800 number before I even reached someone in my local store. After spending almost 400 on 2 pairs of glasses and being told that they will be ready in 2 weeks it took them a month before I was offered a free pair until the 2 pair I paid for to be ready. 2 weeks later after being given the free pair 1 of the 2 pairs I order was ready which no one at the location called to tell me it was ready I had to be the one to keep calling and asking about it. A month later after getting 1 of 2 pairs the 2nd pair was finally ready which again I had to call and ask about. I am so annoyed with Stanton Optical I ordered contacts November 29th 2022 while continually checking on my order it was still in process When I had enough of their excuses I went into the store at Military and Forest Hill on January 2nd to learn my order was never placed, they proceeded to reorder and now a month later I am told they will be in Saturday This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Needless to say I am contacting corporate tomorrow and getting a full refund for my purchase that I still do not have. This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I specifically came to the store for the 2 for $79 + Eye Exam Special. I scheduled an appointment and the wait time was terribly long. When I was finally seen the machines were not working properly which resulted in me having to redo multiple portions of the exam 4 or 5 times. After being placed in the waiting room again I was finally seen my the telehealth person. I did not know prior to coming that I would not be seen by an in-person doctor. My experience with the virtual person was very cold and unwelcoming. I just did not feel seen. More so just another number in a factory chain line. After 2 hours of chaos it was finally time to take my prescription and see how long the turn around time would be for my glasses. Then I am told that my prescription doesn't qualify for the promotion and I can either purchase a pair of bogo glasses for $169+ or spend $200+ to have the new prescription put into old frames. Complete waste of my time and poor communication from associates. read more

Had an Appointment at 10am. I was standing outside for 10 minutes before the girl would open the door. She was confrontational, bowed up and just plain nasty about putting a mask on. I did put one on but she stood in the doorway and wouldn't let me through. I had 4 multi-focal pairs of glasses that I needed to buy including sunglasses. I came in the store for a new pair since mine broke, I have insurance through them and I had to wait over an 1hr for my new pair because the woman at the front desk forgot about the order I put in 2 weeks prior. After she gave me the glasses, I noticed a couple small scratches and the edges had some scratches as well. I didn't say anything because I don't plan on returning to the company. They charged me $180 for one pair glasses and an eye exam the first time I went. After they had a promo for a free eye exam. The insurance was only $25. read more

My name is Dave and I recently turned 55 and had been needing glasses for some time. At work I have a magnifying glass which makes me look like Inspector Clouseau. My wife Amy who is an RN has been using cheaters and has them all over the house. Finally, we both decided to get some help and went to our local Stanton Optical where we met the most amazing person... Ms. Evangeline Schlick. We informed her that neither of us has ever had glasses before. Evangeline then proceeded to educate us about the different options that were available. She schooled us about Transition Lenses, Photochromic, ultraviolet and a host of other terms which she explained with patience and expertise. She did not rush us to make a decision. She even let us hold her personal glasses as an example of Transition Lenses which is what we both decided to get. She helped us by finding frames that suited our individual styles. Simply said, Evangeline Schlick made shopping for eye ware fun. I work for Lexus and know all about customer service. Our experience at Stanton Optical at the 1990 North Military Trail location in West Palm Beach was beyond our expectations. I had a really bad experience here. I went in to get an eyeglass and contact exam. I have never worn contacts before. I was told that I had 30 minutes to get both contacts in and out of my eyes or they would not let me order contacts. They then left me in the back room with contacts and solution. I was given no directions and felt really uncomfortable from the pressure. I was able to get them in and out in the allotted amount of time. Then, I was sent my contacts. My contacts did not correct my vision. Eventually, it was found that I was given the wrong contact RX! I had to get re-tested at a new store, who had no idea what was going on. I had to personally try to explain the negligence of the previous doctor to the new doctor, who definitely hated his job and wasn't listening to a word I said. I ended up returning my contacts all together and I never wear my glasses. This place cannot be trusted to do an acceptable job for giving you an rx or proper customer service. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Eye & Ear in Boynton for a long time but being I live in Loxahatchee, I thought I might give Stanton a try as they are much closer. BIG MISTAKE! All I needed was a replacement set of lens for my current glasses as they were scratched. Initially, the staff was very nice and helpful and I supplied them with the prescription they needed to make the new lenses and they told me it would take two weeks and they would call me. At the end of three weeks and not hearing from them I stopped by the store and surprise, the glasses were there. So I tried them on, they seemed ok and I left. After getting home and wearing them outside I realized that even though I paid good money, (almost $300.00), for transition lenses they provided no sun protection. I took them back the next day and they realized that the lenses were supposed to be grey but were brown offering little sun protection. So they said it would be ANOTHER two weeks and even though I told them I was going on vacation at the end of their two week turn around, they made no attempt to put a rush on the correction or return mail so I could have them at the end of two weeks. I went into the store after the two weeks were up and they said maybe another three days? So I postponed my vacation just to get the glasses and five days after the two weeks were up I received a call that they were in. SEVEN WEEKS LATER FOR ONE PAIR OF LENSES!! I went into the store to pick them up and not so much as an apology or attempt to compensate me for all the aggravation, (INCLUDING HAVING TO POSTPONE MY VACATION). NEVER EVER AGAIN!! I would give the Military store 0 stars if I could VERY POOR SERVICE at the MILITARY DR STORE . MY first experience with Stanton was at the NORTHLAKE Blvd location. GM Mike Freeman - excellent service - Dr and staff extremely professional. That was one year ago. I purchased glasses and contacts. I misplaced my eyeglasses and needed on Sunday 3/24. I scheduled an appointment online for 4:45pm , the last appointment of the day at the MILITARY DR STORE I called the store at 2:15 pm to make sure my appointment was set. The man who answered the phone found me in the system and said I was all set. I called again at 3:11 pm to make sure I would be able to have an exam at 4:45 for progressive lenses. He said yes. I showed at 4:46pm . The gentleman from the phone was vacuuming and the Dr was looking at glasses . I asked if I could get an eye exam. The Dr pretends to go check some kind of machine in the back and tells me that they are unable to give an exam. BS. If you don't want to work a couple minutes over 5pm , do not set appointments at 4:45pm. I will spend my money with a company that wants to serve me. read more

Costco next time: I asked if Stanton would fix my glasses if my eye doctor said their prescription lenses weren't right. They said they would. The lenses weren't in accord with the prescription, my eye doctor said. Stanton said they were close enough and they wouldn't fix them. What they did kindly do is they put new temples on my old lenses so I could wear my old prescription longer, but it wasn't really correct, either. I'll never go there again. Consumer Reports checked lens accuracy, and Costco is in the top tier. That's where I'll go from now on! They're about half the price of standard stores. read more

Went to this newer location. Parking is in the back. Then you walk around the building to the front.Inside was clean. The sales person name was Donald. He was pleasant. I came in with the vision test done and looking for glasses to be made. I found two frames. The glasses are able to be made there much faster then most places. 3 days ! Was very happy about that. My old places was 2 weeks Even tho I saw poor reviews on the near by locations I didn't get it. Thought things went well until time for pick up. I came in at 6:15. No one said that they notify you your glasses can be picked up but you have to make it there before 6. The women who helped me was not nice. (No name tag). She told me I had a balance. I was paid in full. 300 dollars and 2 pairs of glasses she said they could not be fitted at this time. I would have to come back when the doctor was in. I said ok I will come back tomorrow. She said I have to take the glasses. I said they are not fitted yet. She said it didn't matter. She never told me they couldn't adjusted or tried on or needed to be adjusted only by the dr that is only there till 6. That should be posted in the store and told at time of purchase !!!!!!The attitude at pick up was a complete turn around from the sales person. For 300 cash horrible customer services. Sale guy was nice but the pick was not good. Over all I would keep looking for another store. I personally would not go back. read more

Going to Stanton Optical at 1990 West Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33409 was a miserable experience. The associate (or possibly the owner of the franchise) lied to me - right to my face. When I asked about the deal I had seen on television, she immediately told me that the deal only applied to inferior frames that would not last. When I asked for an eye exam, I was told that it was done all by machines. I went to the area for the exam and discovered that all their seating for the machines were small stools on rollers, which I could not use due to a problem with balance. I was told that they had no seats to use without rollers. I tried to do the first machine, but because I am very short, it was impossible. So, I decided to go with my last prescription and get new glasses anyway. I waited my turn, as I had expected to do and when I was seen by the woman who seemed to running the shop, I was disgusted with her "sell, sell, sell" attitude. She is the woman who was so quick to inform me that the special was for inferior product. When I asked her to find my old prescription that I was given by an optician at another location, she told me that although she found my records, she could not locate the prescription because it had been too long ago. When I pushed the issue, she SUDDENLY was able to find the prescription. By this time I was so disgusted with her and the entire experience that I just wanted to get my prescription and go. But she told me that she could not give me the prescription - and that I would not be able to use it even if she did give it to me because it is illegal for anyone, anywhere in the entire world to fill an old eyeglass prescription. I laughed when she actually used the phrase "in the entire world", so she amended her statement to "the entire country". I said I thought that it was possible to do this online and she told me that I was wrong. I finally was able to get her to actually give me my prescription and left. The moment I got home, I went online, found a well known online site and was easily able to order excellent glasses, with all the options I wanted at a much lower cost and none of the aggravation that I received from this horrible Stanton Optical representative. I can confidently state that I will never, ever walk into that store again. I don't like dealing with liars. read more

went to this place attract by the false advertising 2 pair and eye exam for $59.99 I am to old but felt for it. have eyes check on tv monitor and was told to find the frame pick up frame and my total $170.00 just the basic they will call in 7 to 10 days 3 weeks later I called and was on the phone for over 10 minutes hang up called again and got transfer to who knows who, wait for 20 minutes grab my son phone call and while I am waiting I explained to the person no to transfer me that I was on the other line for 25 minutes they don't care got transfer again and have to hang up they don't have costumer service so I cancelled my CC payment they don't even list a Phone number on the invoice that I got from them, terrible experience when I was at the store I heard at least 2 people calling to complained and 1 person at the store complaining about their glasses. 3 red flags in one short visit should open my eyes even I needed glasses hope some one will find this helpful 1990 Military rd WPB read more
