I had a very concerning experience with this company. Just one week after our inspection, my tenants noticed a severe odor coming from the bathroom area. I had to hire a plumber and insulation specialists, who immediately spotted significant rodent droppings in the attic. The issue was so obvious that the contractors were shocked it was completely missed in the inspection report. Had a rodent not died and created an immediate smell, this undetected activity could have led to severe structural, electrical, and insulation damage. Communication following the oversight was equally frustrating. Promised callbacks never happened, and I had to follow up repeatedly over several weeks just to get a response. While they acknowledged the oversight and offered a partial refund, the lack of thoroughness in their core service--and the poor follow-up process--makes it impossible for me to recommend them. read more

We needed the inspection done immediately because we're trying to sell a house and buy a house at the same time and we wanted everything to go quickly. Stanton accepted my last minute request for a partial inspection (as my previous inspector did not do their job right). He inspected the home at a very short notice. Stanton worked diligently and professionally to complete a home inspection for our 1 year warranty on a new build. Listened to our findings and guided us with what could be covered under warranty. He helped explain how to solve several issues that were outside of warranty which we appreciated, since he did not have to do that. They missed over $20,000 in things that have to be repaired right away - the biggest one being a galvanized water line with the meter 200ft up the street, that is so bad we can't even run a hose (only checked the static pressure, which is fine). Next was a gas water heater that was illegally installed (wrong type of water heater for the way it's vented), so that has to be replaced before the city will turn on our gas back on again. Finally, they missed the live knob and tube that was fully exposed. read more

Im sure they do a great job on standard scheduled home inspections but in the crazy Seattle market where last minute pre-contract inspections are the norm, my experience was just so-so. I've had home inspections in the past so I know average/complacent to good service. I'd love to give them a higher rating but their communication with me, their paying customer, was lackluster (confirmations were automated, direct email to inspector unanswered, problems encountered on morning of inspection were not reported, no follow up or satisfaction survey after payment). I pointed out a typo for a material defect and was promised a correction, which never came, and had to ask about obvious items that should have been in the report but weren't (and they weren't excluded items). Part of the reason that I chose my agent's recommendation was because of how highly they were referred and I explicitly asked to be present so I could learn. The inspection was cut short to accommodate another agent's inspector and I was not notified. I took time off work and drove across the city only to find someone else at the house during my time block - This may have been more of a failure on the part of my agent if it was communicated to her and she failed to inform me but That was not relayed to me. I do appreciate that they are experienced, qualified and credentialed by NACHI - the report turn around time was about 3 hours and he used a drone for the roof. For the high-end price I paid for the service I received, I would likely think twice about using them again, even if it was just a fluke. read more

Stanton was referred to me by my fabulous agent, as a first time home buyer and a single mom I was nervous about ending up in a place that may fall down around me. Besides making time to inspect the home within a few days, and being willing to drive to Camano Island, Stanton was great and explained everything good and bad in detail. He noted both things he suggest I hire someone to do and explained how to do everything he thought I could do with a little research and elbow grease. Here is the BIG above and beyond he did for me, last night I developed a water leak (***nothing he missed things happen). I neglected to immediately find the water shut off upon moving into the house, so when a geyser appeared and I was frantically searching everywhere, including crawling under the house while on the phone with my agent making jokes about the dead rats Stanton had found, and how whoever did that clean up did great job. However nothing there, but water. She and I decided to make some calls mine being to Stanton to see if he recalled where it was. So at 9pm he picks up I ramble of a bunch of stuff, he calmly asked me to refresh his memory on the exact property. After just a few details he recalled the home, he booted up his computer to pull up the report to see his notes on where it was located. In the mean time he walked me through all possible locations as I am scrambling around he directs me to the main water line from the community well. He kept it simple 1) find powerlines into the ground out front 2) find electrical box 3) search surrounding area for water box. Great I found it now what? No problem Stanton is on the phone! before his computer was up and going, from 3 counties away, one iphone flashlight, and a tool that was not the most appropriate for the job he helped me find my water line, and walked me through how to shut it off. He then had me text him pictures of the pipe so he could tell me what needed to be done and what a fair price range should be to have someone repair it. read more
