I made a great decision by having Jesse do my 11 month warranty home inspection. The reviews were spot on. Jesse is awesome. Home inspection only took a couple of hours and he was able to point out some issues with our home that could become a big deal if not fixed asap. I was then able to go back to the builder and request some fixes under the warranty. He is saving me money and headaches. I want to highlight the addition of the drone Jesse uses to see issues on the rooftop. I don't believe many are using this tech, which helps set him apart. I watched my neighbors house get inspected and their guy was on their roof for over an hour. Jesse took pics within 10 min and was able to show me the condition of my rooftop from a birds eye view. You will not get this service with others. Time is a big deal for me as I WFH and can't be spending all day following an inspector around taking notes. Jesse made this easy! Again.. great guy, great photos and plenty of FYI notes on water heater/furnace/electric annual maintenance for me to keep in mind as we continue to live here for many years to come. Recently had my roof replaced. Saw that the roofers did not follow normal roofing procedures. Had several other roofers look it over and they found multiple issues. After reviewing several comments and complaints on several home inspectors, plus desiring an inspector that is licensed (which I did review at the WA state contractors licensing web page) we decided to use Northwest Home Inspector. Factors that I felt were a home run for us were: - detailed inspection report samples on their website - their website allows for additional items to bring to their attention like attic and crawl space inspection - their website allows for scheduling and payment - communication is easy via phone, text or email Day of inspection: Jesse spent nearly 2.5-3 hours inspecting and educating us on shutoff valves and electrical switches. He conveyed items that we should discuss with the builder (I was taking notes and he mentioned all items that he was discussing would be in the report, when I got the report and compared it to my notes all items were there). Raised the inspection issues to the builder and all items were addressed by the builder. One item I noticed in reviews were folks mentioning about the cost for a home inspection, and while prices could vary from inspectors I felt the cost and service from Jesse was money well spent. Jesse mentioned to me about an inspection before the one year builder warranty and I mentioned to him that I didn't see an option on his website to do a follow up appointment so I hope he gets that added in or sends clients a reminder email. Also, Jesse is a nice and personable guy to talk to, we had a good laughs during his inspection like when I opened the fuse box panel and he said to me "are you license to open that" then I quickly closed it then realized he was kidding because I've always resent breakers in other homes. read more

I have used NW Home Inspector twice, both on super short notice. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating, as the two instances had different needs. Checked every nook and crawl space. Greg did a thorough job of inspecting a lakeside cabin we had made an offer for. He spent almost 3 hours working on it from roof to interior to crawlspace and all of the main indoor and outdoor features. He then went through each aspect of what we needed to consider for needed repairs, etc. Main thing, is he made us aware of what we needed to know up front. I was able to quickly schedule an inspection with a short turn around. Jesse provided an excellent inspection, thoroughly explaining everything during the process and happy to answer questions. He was able to quickly identify construction materials in the house and was familiar not only with proper use but how use recommendations of the products had changed over time (for example the siding of the house was correctly installed for when the house was constructed, but Jesse was also familiar with how current best practices had evolved over time). My goal in researching the sea of inspectors was identifying someone that offers infared as part of their package. Long story short, the infared saved me a Ton of money. WOW!!!!! Currently in escrow on my third home, and attempting to close in three weeks. Straight up NW Home Inspector beats whoever else is out there. His website is better. His scheduling application is better-- its Google Calendar - which was awesome. The report you will get is better. And his price is better. At first I wasn't certain that his price was better. My realtor provided several home inspector options to me and NW Home Inspector appeared to be in the middle on price. However, as I reviewed the websites of the other recommended Home Inspectors, it was clear that NW was gonna beat the other guys. The other inspectors my realtor recommended had a lower "base rate" than NW. But they were going to nickel and dime (well $70 - $150 me) for each "added" item. These "added" items were going to add up to well over NW's fee. NW will bring an infrared camera (allows you to see heat distribution, and leaks, behind walls), test every single outlet in the home, every crawlspace, and identify hazards and risks. The other companies were going to charge extra for the infrared camera. And the infrared camera is something you absolutely need as you have no idea what is behind the walls. And buying a home, especially an older home, without knowing that, is a huge risk that can result in significant financial loss -- see my review of REIG in San Diego, CA. NW explained every single item in detail that he noted. This is extremely important as it allowed me to gather an accurate quote on repair or replacement that I then presented the seller. Without NW's assistance, I wouldn't have been able to effectively negotiate my conditions and contingencies for purchase. You might think that, yes what I listed above is what any home inspector would do. I can assure you that it is not. In short pick NorthWest Home Inspector for whatever your needs are. He was fairly priced, did awesome imaging with his drone, used infrared to make sure there were no gas or water leaks, and was very detailed in his inspection.
