If I could give this place zero stars I would. The girl at the copy & print center has very bad attitude and is not friendly at all. I think she was mad because my wife and I interrupted her while she was cleaning. She immediately started giving us an attitude even though I asked her politely if she could help us when she had a moment. My wife being pregnant and being friendly also didn't budge for this girl she continued, but was being friendly to other customers. It seemed like a pride thing because she had to stop what she was doing because we need help that she instantly got mad at us. Sorry, but that's your job. If you didn't want to help people than you shouldn't have a customer service job. We were asking her minimal questions about products and instead of saying things like I'm not sure I could find out, or sorry I'm not sure, she just said heh umm I don't know, I wouldn't know that. Well we wanted to know if we bought a certain sticker paper is the whole back a sticker or certain sections. The stickers were $25 bucks so yes, we don't want to waste money. She didn't care she still had an attitude while she was saying umm don't know, wouldn't know that, ugh can you ask someone who will? What kind of service is this. Isabel (the manager) had the best service! I decided to do last min. back to school shopping and ordered a desk from this store. It was ready the next morning after ordering. (I ordered at 10pm) When I was getting ready to put it together I noticed there was a piece missing. I went back to the store to see what we can do because I loved this desk, Isabel looked around for and extra part but there was not one available but another store had the part I was missing. The next day Isabel went to that store to get me the part. For the inconvenience she refund my desk for the price I payed online and resold it to me for store price plus an additional discount! Bought me a desk and a book shelf here on the weekend. Store itself is pretty nice decent size. Prices are adequate. Usually buy this stuff online, but when it comes to furniture of anykind, you just want to rub yourself all over it and feel it before you buy, so hence the reason I came in. worst experience at this staples very disappointing. I was trying to print some documents on a weekday evening and for some reason the email server was not working because i kept sending my documents to the "staples@printme.com" so they could sent me back the barcode to print my documents and well it just wasn't working. I asked the employee designated to the printing area if there was any other way to print my documents bei kept sending them and received nothing back for almost 29 minutes nothing. He said do you have any other email and i said yes i've sent them using both none of my inboxes at showing them not in spam or nothing. Frustrating so i asked can i send them to a different email or server i really need theses printed tonight. . HE LEGIT SAID THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO. I. mean sure maybe there wasn't but a good employee would have tried alternatives or maybe call a manager to help me out but not he kept saying there's nothing he can do ...ok but this is your job budddy?! This store doesn't operate like any Staples I have visited. There is always a problem, no consistency regarding policies and little to no assistance but plenty of associates standing around talking. There is never an available manager to resolve or clarify an issue. I am making a choice not to disclose this last incident but this time I will be reporting corporate. I don't remember if his name was Juan or Jose. But the guy who helped me at the copy/media services area was amazing! I had a map pdf file I needed edited/photoshopped and Jose(or Juan) did a great job. Not only was he fast, but he was also very patient with me as I requested one or two tweaks after his initial editing. Courteous throughout as well. Horrible, by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I'm sorry but, it does look prosperous for Staples in Downey. I walk in to the store and get acknowledged by an associate, great job, now help the customer with what they came in to get. I asked for assistance not one, but twice. All Melissa did was smile, great smile by the way. The problem is Staples needs more than a smile to help the customers get in and out with all the products they need. I came out empty handed, no one even cared they don't make an additional $500 in revenue. I went to the print center and had one problem after another. First the card dispenser was broken. Then the printer wouldn't read my USB. So we tried emailing the docs, and the response time from the website was horrible. Finally the sales associate took my flash drive to a back room and - boom - done. The only reason I'm giving them a 3 is because the sales associate was super helpful and didn't end up charging me for the documents. read more

I came to return some items I had purchased and I couldn't have found a worse time. It's back to school season and there were kids and parents everywhere. The line looked long but it wasn't, there were 3 cashiers ringing up customers and one long line which went pretty quick. We were looking to purchasing a good fancy/expensive pen. We wanted to test some out but they said we couldn't and that there was a paper with a picture of the pen and that's all we had to go off on. You couldn't feel, carry, write with the pen until after you have purchased it. Then after that if you don't like it then you would have to come back and return it (Inconvenient). The "pictures of the pens" were in the back to school department which was trashed with kids running around. I thought it was ridiculous as to how you would drop money $100-$200 on a pen you see in a picture. Before we left I went to go use the restroom and it was DISGUSTING. The toilet bowls were almost black/yellow/gray color and the sink to wash your hands in was black/gray all over. It hadn't been cleaned in a long time. It looked like a gas station restroom. I've been to gas station restrooms that were soooo much cleaner than that. So do yourself a favor, if you need to use the restroom, go elsewhere! read more

I always come to this Staples for my office needs. Everyone there is very friendly, I am always given top service by Ty and Gino. The workers here help you carry heavy items, such as a big desk or chair to the car. Their prices are within moderation, and the best part is the offers they have every now and then, I get couples via Email to save on certain products on sale. But before purchases I always look up reviews on the item/product I'm about to get. It's not the store's fault an item is faulty or not what a guest expects. I'm always asked if I need help finding items, as well as treated really well for a guest. I recommend this place, because the associates here make it a great atmosphere. read more

Gasp, what a shocker. I did a review about how I came here all the time to get things printed and whatnot and how they would tell me I needed to wait hours for 1 page printed. Well I e-mailed one page I needed done (yes, just ONE 8.5" x 11" color print) because I was in a hurry and just needed to grab and go. I e-mailed it 2 hours ago. I got the e-mail confirmation stating it was good to go. I show up just now and get told I will have to wait 45 minutes. For one page. You have multiple printers and you can't do ONE page? It was also dead in the copy/print area, by the way. Of course their computer that you can print off of for a whole dollar extra is not turned on either. Seriously you guys, you're awful. read more

I had gone to the Ups store because is was on my way home. I spent a good amount of time trying to print some work documents. I ended coming here to staples. I've been here many times and they're staff is really helpful. I've came here for multiple types of service. Including my grandfathers funeral program. i was having trouble printing some documents. I asked the associate Andrew if he could help. He rebooted the printer and explained why my documents weren't being read. Something so simple. I came in today to get ink for my printer and the store was lonely. I was in and out within 10min. I give this place 3 stars because I was walking to the register and there was no line. The cashier and i made eye contact and he was waiting for me to get there to ring me up and once I was at the register, out of nowhere this kid and her grandfather get infront of me eventhough I got there before them and the guy at the register helped them first. It was weird! I expected the guy to say something like "I'll be right with you" but he just got red when I was next. If I could give negative stars I would. I just wasted my time standing at the copy center for nothing. The cashier across the way made eye contact with me and then spoke into his headset so I assumed he was calling someone to help me so I waited. I watched a manager come out of the back, he made eye contact with me and smiled so I continued to wait. After 10 minutes with no one coming to help me at the counter I left. I made a comment as I left that I guess no one wanted to help me and the cashier just looked at me. No comment, no apology, nothing. That's the last time I go to that Staples. I went to another Staples and the lady at the copy center was so nice and helpful and even though her machines couldn't do what I needed she gave me names of a couple places I could try. Terrible customer service from Manager himself and bad service off the website. I purchased a prepaid phone online and because I was in a hurry and needed the phone the same day for my son who I was going to drop off at practice, I selected the pick up at store option. That process was surprisingly easy and the worker was pleasant. I signed and was on my way. On the way out, the alarm set off and the worker just waved at me that it was ok. I was not able to activate the phone with tracfone.com. I called them and they saw that the phone was INACTIVE status. They proceeded to ask me questions to confirm that I actually PAID for the phone. I called the Staples Downey store and asked for the Manager. I felt I lucked out when Aaron answered and said he was the manager. After I explained my dilemma he went on to say that it's because I bought it online, they don't have to scan it. If they would have scanned it, they would have charged me again. I asked him why would I buy a phone I cannot activate? His solution was to bring phone back, return it and purchase again. And he gave me the Staples number and cut the conversation short. That evening I went into the store to return and I saw that Aaron was at the register so i waited for him. I told him we spoke on the phone, he did my return without making eye contact, looked terribly irritated, gave me a receipt and sent me on my way. In my car I tried to activate my phone on my own cell phone before I left the parking lot. Guess what..... same problem. Tracfone rep told me it still showed INACTIVE and refreshed his screen many times. Went back inside and told different cashier my issue and she was polite and willing to help. She called Aaron on her headset and she said, "all we can do is do a return for you". She proceeded to tell me that the Staples server was down and they couldn't even activate gift cards. What? Not once did Aaron give me this explanation. I would have gone somewhere else. To top it off, I could only get store credit back instead of my getting by money back onto my card. Now I'm stuck having to go back and repurchase my phone when their "server" is back up. I have emailed Staples.com with this issue without response. How has this company stayed in business. My problem with this staples is that I can NEVER get any help on the floor. I can NEVER find any help, ANYWHERE, not even at the register. You would think that there would be someone, stocking, or tidying, or straightening up displays - BUT NEVER. They don't even have good prices and a good selection. I just don't find them customer friendly at all. Staples use to be a place you could shop with confidence that your getting quality service. I guess that went out the window with there help at the store. Not shopping here and more not even on occasion. Manager at this location is unprofessional and actions isn't in the best interest of their customers. Long story short during the research process of choosing the right products for my business, tried to exchange a unopened software of $149 for printer of $299 and was embarrassed and denied by current manager to process this transaction. First, the manager insisted that their policy states that the total amount of the purchase needed to be returned to original store. Which nothing in their customer service return policy states anything in that nature. So I decide to get the printer there since they had one left and I'll return the unopened software later. So I stood in line and manager yelled across the store saying I couldn't return it there and I replied yes I knew that is it ok if I purchase the printer. At the register employee was nice and rang me up and charged my card but no discount was honored. So manager jumps in looking furious and told staff to void the transaction and recharge my card. My card was declined and overdrafted my business account. So now I'm irritated and ask the worker to show me where does it state returns of x amount needed to be returned at the original location. Neither myself nor the worker could find it so analyzing the situation I concluded that this location wasn't making its numbers and being the last day of the month the manager didn't want anything returned in his store; but didn't realize I wanted to exchange it for something of greater value. During my next free day I headed to the original store (alondra Staples) and what a great staff they had there. No hassle during the exchange process. And I acknowledge their service and informed them about the horrible Service undeceived from the Downey Landing location and they thought it Was weird for the manger to detour me into returning the product at the original location. In addition the guy that helped me find the printer I was looking for validated that this printer was best choice for my business. He asked why and stated how its functions would be most efficient and save me $$ in the long run. Overall, I would love to continue driving the extra mile to Staples (on Alondra on Norwalk) but compared Office Depot (on Firestone in Norwalk) and Concluded that customer experience was the best out of all my trials am errors using different locations. I know Staples has better promotions but if I wanted to be treated like shit I can always go there. But I'm happy with Office Depot and it's services for my business. read more

Easy tech service was very bad. I got my laptop computer restored at $300+ . Gave me a free Microsoft anti virus software & was never offered a regular software like Norton. After few months my computer got a virus. When I took it back they wanted me to pay them $140 to remove the virus. And on top of that they wanted me to buy Norton anti virus. As you can see they trapped me to buy their products by not offering the right products to begin with. General manager Mr. Aaron Hammock was very unprofessional & never offered any courtesy to resolve this issue. I do not recommend Staples's Easytech services to anybody. Bestbuy was much better and had great customer service and prices were reasonable. Staples Easytech department is a ripoff. read more
