After calling 3 times in a day, no one answered my call. I had to buy a new computer and wanted to speak with someone about them. Needless to say I went to BestBuy. I got an answer on the phone even before I went to shop there. I don't know how Staples stays in business. I will never step foot in that store. read more

Horrible service! Spent 1hour and a half to have my passport and son's pictures taken properly. Incompetent staff ! NONE OF THEM knew how to take a passport picture properly except for RILEY who got really annoyed by me asking for him to take that damn picture after 1hour of wait! Avoid at all cost! 50 bucks for aggressive and incompetent behaviour! I will reach out to a manager and have that staff retrain or fire! read more

I asked the lady at the cashier if they price match Amazon.ca, she said yes. She asked another lady for help in checking the item on their computer. I tried to show the lady the item on my amazon.ca app (I scanned the barcode from the box). It was about $5 cheaper. The amazon.ca app clearly says "Ships from and sold by amazon.ca". They refuse to price-match because according to their computer, it's sold by Amazon but it's not their product. I explained to her she ended up at the part of amazon website where they show same product but from alternative sellers. She wouldn't listen. Their employees need further training. It's hard to reason with them. I wanted to support them because they're local but from that day on, to avoid the hassle, I'll go into their store, look at the physical item, scan it and order it from amazon.ca. I had purchased an original Canon black ink cartridge to replace an empty one on my printer. I also decided to purchase a colour one to be ready for when it ran out . The colour one was a Staples remanufactured cartridge. I went to install it today and as soon as I opened the silver bag inside the box, ink was everywhere. It got all over my hands. I returned it to the store for a refund/replacement. No apology for mess and inconvenience. To top it off when I got home I realized I was charged an extra six dollars plus taxes! Don't use the fed ex service here. I attempted to send my child's passport application to the UK and the customer service person kept asking me about the address and whether all the info needs to be in it - yes it does because UK passport office want your online application code included in the address field! Honestly I really ding thing they know what they are doing. I asked them if they had ever sent anything to the uk because there are plenty of British expats in Langley and Surrey! Of course they said no. I decided to leave without using the service and went to a different fed ex location. Btw I've sent a previous application to passport office at the fed ex centre in downtown Vancouver and it was never an issue with the address! read more

Staples customer service needs an upgrade. I was operating their self-serving printer only to be frustrated at the long processing. Because of this, I decided to nicely ask for help at the counter only to receive some sassy attitude and poor assistance. "I'm sorry, but the printer keeps processing and it's already been five minutes. I've already printed 5 pages of something else and it took less than a minute." To which she replies with an irritated expression, like I bothered her to actually do her job, "Well, your file's probably too big." "But the last document was the same size as the one I want to print off right now." "Well, just wait." And she walks off like nothing ever happened. JUST WAIT? Okay, perhaps I'm strongly over-reacting, but to hear this small sliver of advice instead of actually coming out of her counter area and walking to the super close printer to see if there's a problem? I was totally discouraged by her lack of duty. I ended up asking another girl who actually helped me print my pages at her counter. The other girl gave me a glare as I walked out. Thanks for the lovely experience, Staples. ( Regardless, Staples has cool merchandise. It just needs cooler people. ) read more

Staples is as Staples does.... First of all the 75% off bin had so much cool stuff in it, I pretty much emptied it. Talk about retail therapy... I was like a drug addict that hit the purest heroine ever to come into town... Then... still high on 1 dollar sharpies, I actually started to walk around looking for the three items I originally came to buy. Here is the part that made me stop and shake my head at myself. I had NO idea where to look for the three items on my list. In the time I was looking around, 5 staff asked me if I needed help... I thanked them politely and went on mindlessly searching. It was only afterwards that I thought this conundrum through and realized why it happened. I am so used to poor service at big box stores, and am TOTALLY programmed to look around by myself rather than ask some bored idiot teenager who shrugs and knows nothing that even in the face of competent interested customer service ambassadors... I shrink away. I wander around trying to see where Sony mini recordable DVDs are... and pencil sharpeners. Any one of those nice people could have told me where to find these things, yet I am trained not to ask. Is it just me or is that bizarre??? I was there on Dec. 14th between 10:30-11am and was over by the copy machines. I was next to an older couple using the copy machine and they were confused. Which I understand because they arent the basic printer with lots of buttons and options. They went to get a women sales associate to help them and I was shocked on how she treated them. She talked to them like they were stupid! She was extremely short and rude. No one should be treated that way especially when they just asked for help. She was talking down to them and they definitely were an inconvenience to her! I wish I could of seen her name to write it on here but I hope a manager sees this. Bad experience with this location, especially in printing department. First they quote one price for printing per page and won't share the additional charges related to document server charge, same day service charge etc. Had a terrible experience for printing simple document. Wont recommend this Staples Langley BC location to anyone for printing services. read more

I recently bought a brother printer. at the checkout the clerk asked if I wanted the extended warranty. I said no thank you. (it is a $40.00 multifunction printer) then he asked if I wanted to buy extra inks when I said no he said "The ink that comes with the printer will only print 20 pages" WOW... I contacted brother and they said the ink with the printer will actually print half of a normal cartridge. normal=300, so starter=150. I understand that they are trying to sell more overpriced ink (I get the 600 page inks much cheaper) but WOW. when the printer will do 150 pages but you tell people it will only do 20. you are EVIL! I should have said if it stops in 20 pages I will be returning it! I guess they will lie about anything to increase sales. read more

AVOID at all costs! Most despicable manager anyone could ever hope to encounter. The hard drive on my parents' old computer died, and supposedly could not be fixed, so they bought a brand new computer at this Staples location. Then, paid some local guy $500 (!!!) to transfer the data from their old computer, and help them set up the new one. Not impressed with him either!, but that is the subject of another review. Anyway, the next day, their ONE-DAY-OLD COMPUTER DIED. They went in to Staples, explaining that the brand new computer they bought there had quit working within a day, AFTER they spent $500 getting it set up with all their data. At first, Staples seemed helpful, and said they would replace it the next day and transfer the data free of charge. After not hearing anything for a couple days, dad went in, and the tech asked him to pay $150 for data transfer! Dad asked to speak to the manager, and reminded him that this was supposed to be free of charge. The scumbag reneged!, and belligerently told dad that he had never said any such thing, data transfer was $150! From the computer HE sold that died within one day! If Staples is smart, they will fire this guy before he drives the store out of business. read more
