The Copy Center is ALWAYS understaffed. At most there are 3 people there. Those of us with a printing job or Amazon return must wait up to half an hour to receive any service. They REALLY should hire more people. Also, the computer in self-serve has been down for about a month now. The employees claim it's being fix, but I doubt It'll happen anytime soon. If you need a specialty business card made (e.g. It's embossed or something similar) forget about it and go ANYWHERE ELSE. They have to send these designs out of the store and it can take up to months at a time, and half the time it arrives in a terrible quality! Seriously, who okays a blurry image? The store itself is just okay, however, some employees are very unhelpful. The lady's bathroom always smells like literal shit, Idk how, but they should deep clean the thing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend going here unless you need to buy office supplies or something similar, but even then there are far better and cheaper alternatives. read more

I had to wait over 20 minutes to be helped because the "manager" couldn't leave the "front" because the other staff person was in the bathroom. Worst shopping experience ever. And then lo and behold when he finally did leave the front after I persistently complained it took him less than a second to get the software I needed. If that's the manager they need to train him in customer service, professionalism and how to effectively manage the store so you do not lose customers Poor customer service. I rarely come to this location because all the employees look unhappy. I went in to find thank you stickers for my packages since I was waiting for mine to arrive. I asked the girl in the faxing area if they had them. She looked annoyed I interrupted whatever she was doing and abruptly said no but I can check aisle 18 if they did. And behold the stickers! I tried letting her know they had them because as us small business people these are things we do use. She didn't acknowledge me and was glued to her computer screen. Check out line poor guy looked as if he was beaten with a yard stick, looked exhausted, sad. Who on earth is the manager? I know this location has major turn over so maybe corporate needs to look at who is running this location. Years ago, and I mean yeeeeeeears ago it was a pleasure going there! Printing was great, service, employees. It's as if this generation has zero ability on how to socialize. It's sad really. read more

Probably the most under-staffed Staples I've patronized. I've been to this store several times, and there is no one in any of the aisles who is available to answer a question, should you have one. The best thing about this location is the UPS kiosk for returning Amazon packages, which functions well. Otherwise, somewhat lacking. The physical setup of the entrance and exit is also bizarre, as customers are forced into "a full square," requiring foot traffic past the registers in order to leave. In other words, you cannot go out the same door which you enter through. Makes absolutely no spatial sense. read more

I was in Staples today to make copies. First of all, the copies center machines were not working. I finally was able to get assistance from a copy center employee who after several request came to my aid. 4 machines and only one available. Another customer wanted to make one copy = but cannot get the assistance to have it done. While run my copies an elderly woman needed to make copies - she asked for assistance to show her how to use the machine. she was refused and told she can leave the file and pick up tomorrow. She asked me if I worked there, I replied NO. But offered to help her make the 5 copies of important papers she needed. total cost was seventy cents. Not over staffed at all, three girls talking away in copies, 2 tech talking with no customers and one cashier with another person helping her. One customer at check out. I guess customers are not their most important asset. read more

Even though the little strip mall this store is located in is a bit run down looking, that is the furthest from the truth when it comes to here. The store is clean, well stocked, and the staff is friendly! I came here for the self service section today, and was impressed. They have the newest equipment I've seen in a staples so far. There was a line for the traditional looking fax machine so I went to the new copiers and sent the fax, doing it this way took a bit longer but I'm glad they had this option for me. I ended up just looking around the store after to see what other new and exciting things they had, and found a colored sharpie I've been looking for!! read more

Having this Staples located in Newton/Hampton has always been convenient, and they usually have those unique office, small business or school project supplies you need all in one place without having to deal with an overcrowded store with long lines, like their big-blue competitor right across the street. You will pay a little more, or exactly the retail price for the products, but it's usually worth it since they actually are going to have what you need when you need it. Unfortunately, this Staples store's pitfall is the Customer Service, which comes off as not very helpful, useful, polite or kind whatsoever. I had checked the store inventory online to determine whether there was a Rocketbook notebook in-stock, and there were several. This product is a $30 infinite-life notebook which allows you to scan the pages of written text with your phone...it's for those of us who need to take lots of organized notes at work, but don't want to spend $500+ on some tablet and who still prefer writing on paper anyway. I get to the store, and can't find where the notebooks are located, so I kindly check with a nearby junior sales associate whether they have a Rocketbook notebook. She says she doesn't know, then asks someone through the radio whether they have the product. She doesn't really get a response back, so she asks a nearby senior sales associate doing another stocking task. Without even checking or putting any effort in, he immediately stares me in the eye and tells me they don't have any in stock. As a 40 yo, I'm not emotionally ignorant when it comes to social psychological behaviors, and immediately detected the G-F-YS attitude that for some reason was also delivered to me from this employee. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I kindly informed him that it appeared there were several in stock after checking online, which is the reason I went in the store, and that maybe there are some in the store. He goes back to doing what he was doing, again without attempting to help me. After finding the notebook area myself (since I didn't know where they were to begin with), I immediately located a handful of Rocketbooks - and hold one up showing him that the store had them in stock and where they were located for his future reference in case another paying customer asks. He dropped what he was doing, then marched over to me to check. I pointed the products out to him, and he immediately turned around and mumbled something about spending $30 on a notebook while returning to his task. I paid, then left. I have absolutely no reason to make any of this up, and can't make this up. This is how the store managers and regional store managers at not just Staples but all the bigger box stores in Sussex County are allowing their store employees to behave and act on the job to the very customers who keep their stores alive. Not worth complaining to Staples, but its basic little interactions like this that encourage me to less and less shop anywhere Sussex County, and to simply buy 100% online from Amazon for consumables. I encourage everyone to just objectively write and post the actual details and story to one of the Social Media platforms for everyone else to read if and when you have store experiences like mine! And stop supporting these stores until their employee behaviors improve! Not sure I'll be returning to this Staples next time I need that second $30 notebook. read more

I found it ridiculous to print something out there I had to go on the computer to get my files and I had to pay a fee to use the computer per minute . It is also way to expensive I had to pay $16 to print 20 regular pages. Went here on a whim to buy a computer desk and a printer. Asked the only person I could find for some help with a few questions. As i asked him he basically waved his hands in a fashion like "Why are you asking me?" Why? Cause its your job thats why. After pretty much getting a blank stare i realized this guy had no idea what he's doing. Finally decided to fend for myself and made a selection. Then moved onto the desk portion. Found something to settle on from the limited selection, unfortunately the only person to ask if they had it was Mr. Idontknow wavy hands guy. Comes back a few minutes later and says "We dont have that one. I dont know when its coming in, may be on the next truck but they just send us whatever." Some inventory system you got there. Basically we were just frustrated at that point with the service. We ended up just leaving the printer there and walking out. Not spending money at an establishment that obviously could care less. They're good for staples and paper clips, nothing more. Never buy a computer or get repairs done at Staples its a total waste of money. Coming from someone thats computer savvy Ive fixed a few computers that have been "repaired" from Staples. I kid you not they come back from there worse than when they went in. read more

Called once to find out where my textbook rental was considering I dropped it off to be returned through UPS. The girl working asked if I wanted the receipt and given I had no problems in the past I said no. Two weeks later and after not one but TWO late charges from Amazon, I tried calling and got nowhere. I called back because I got put on hold then taken off of hold and no one was answering. My third time calling I was not put on hold and heard the sales associate Diana say "I feel like she's gonna throw a fit" and the other coworker Miranda said "I don't care, let her" and then I was hung up on after they realized I was not on hold and I heard all of this. I called back and they put me on hold the minute I started calling again. Miranda then denied anything that was said and put me on hold and claimed my barcode was wrong when I got it directly from my amazon rental... now I will have to pay the $105 buy out price since they have lost my book. Terrible customer service. If you can find someone to help, they have received no training on their products and can't answer basic questions. They don't stand behind their products either.Buyers must contact manufacturers if a product is faulty. Staples is happy to make the profit but has no interest in assisting customers when products fail. 3 very bad customer experiences in a row. 3 strikes and Staples is out. Will not shop there again.
