I brought my PC here specifically to have my BIOS updated because I was getting crashes and an Intel CPU stability warning. I was explicitly told the BIOS was updated and everything was fixed. When I got home, my PC was still crashing, and the exact same warning was still there. I checked System Information (msinfo32) and my BIOS date was still from 2023, meaning they never updated it at all. They either: * Didn't know how to update a BIOS, or * Lied and said the work was done when it wasn't On top of that, they downloaded/changed things on my PC without fixing the actual problem I paid for. We brought my son's computer in to fix a problem with the machine starting up. After two weeks and multiple calls to check on the status, they told my son over the phone they didn't have the parts to fix it???? When we arrived to retrieve the laptop, we asked what they determined was wrong. The guy couldn't tell us because allegedly the tech that worked on it was "unavailable." Needless to say we will not attempt to have anything repaired here again. Poor communication, no notes on what was wrong and very suspect answers. I had to switch from an in-home visit from Asurion to a visit to this uBreakiFix store in Norridge to have an older iPhone screen replaced. Not only was the service excellent, timely and complete, the young man who repaired the screen was clearly capable and provided terrific customer service when he outlined how long the replacement would take. I now plan to bring a laptop that has needed a new screen for two years and look forward to the exemplary service this particular shop provides. (I have been to other units of this chain and have been sorely disappointed by their attitudes and their levels of customer service.) I will be back! Took my iphone to AT&T- they did nothing but tell me the port wasn't working properly, which I already knew and offer a new phone upgrade. They did, however, recommend going to uBreakiFix-- so I did. I explained the problem and said the charging port was wiggly. The young guy took my phone to the back and when he returned he said there was a lot of dust and now when he plugs it in it's not wiggling anymore and seems to be charging. REALLY? That's it? He showed me & it was working perfectly! I asked for the bill & he said it was free! Amazing service! I brought my Samsung Galaxy S9+ in for a cracked screen repair. Esteban checked me in at 10a & let me know it was a busy day but he would most likely have the repair complete before closing at 7pm. When I spoke to him at 6p to check in he said it was almost ready & needed to run a final diagnostic check. There was an issue with a software update, and he stayed after closing time to ensure that I would be able to get my phone back that night instead of having to wait until the next morning at Noon. (Can you say panicked?!?!?) I am SO grateful to him for staying, and for the amazing service provided. I rarely write reviews but this location voided my Samsung phone warranty without even touching my device. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS. Samsung directed me to this location to replace the charging port as my device was still under warranty. I went to the store on Sunday and was told they did not have the part in stock. They created a ticket to order the part. I took my phone with me and was told to bring it back on Tuesday for the repair. I called the store before driving there again to ensure the part was in stock. After being on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that they cancelled my ticket due service not being covered by warranty (even though Samsung had already confirmed the repair was covered). AGAIN they did NOT run any diagnostic or even touch my phone but logged with Samsung that the phone had water damage. So now the remainder of my factory warranty has been voided and no other place can repair my device under warranty. read more

terrible place. they didnt install the two screws at the bottom of my iphone xsmax when replacing my screen. I rinsed my phone the other day and water got in. I broke my phone apparently. Do these folks ever pick up the phone? Calling and calling, no answers. Are they actually in business? My item has been in their hands for a month, with no update. 010821 update_ Finally found my computer, having had to call their corporate office. Lots of songs, dance, and assurances. ultimately, the computer was returned...UNFIXED. replaced the battery that needed a repair (according to their diagnostic), but I was never able to get a confirmation that this was the correct diagnosis. Once their district manager had received the case due to the lack of communication, I was told it would be done the next day, a week+ later the computer arrived; no paperwork, no diagnosis, not working. Had to call customer service again then after the standard long hold, and documents search determined that the device is unfixable by them. moral- after 6 weeks - if you have a bad battery, they may be able to help Wouldn't waste time with them, if they can get it done in a couple of days. read more

This place should UBREAKiROB!! This so called business will rob you and your elderly mother. I highly recommend you do not allow your elderly parents to enter this business alone because they will take complete advantage of them. I witnessed the interactions between the associates and three customers and instead of fixing the problem all they tried to do was upsell every transaction. They tried to charge me 150 just for an HDMI port replacement on a PlayStation 4 and it was going to be a 10 day wait!! The employee said it would have to be shipped to Orlando. Absolutely ridiculous!! I can purchase a New console with that amount of money. This place is a joke with no integrity. FYI ! I waited in line to get a phone screen repaired and four people in line in front of me were told that they couldn't fix their devices due to lack of parts or some other reason. When it was my turn, the guy told me it would cost more to fix my screen than it would if I just went to the apple store itself. My daughter cracked her screen and I showed up on a very busy day. Line was long, cars were waiting in the parking lot. I did have to wait a little too long for a scheduled drop off, but they were friendly, apologetic and quick on the repair which I felt made up for it. They did a great job! read more

Do not trust this store with your device. I went in to have a cracked screen repaired and they broke the entire phone. When I handed the phone off it worked perfectly fine, except for a crack in the glass. When I returned, the glass was still cracked, but the phone wouldn't even turn on. They refused to take responsibility, despite the tech initially mentioning he dropped it behind the counter, and actively prevented the issue from being resolved with Assurant, my Google phone insurance company that sent me to uBreakiFix to begin with. What was supposed to be a two hour repair, turned into a week and a half without a phone. I still don't have my phone, but after several hours on the phone Assurant was finally able to close to the repair order and approve a refurbished replacement. I wouldn't trust these jokers to change a lightbulb for me after this experience. read more

To say that this was the worst experience I have ever had is an understatement. I brought in my iPhone for a charging port issue, my phone worked great otherwise. I dealt with Angel who told me they could fix it no problem. They returned my phone and the charging port worked, but now I sounded like I was underwater when making a phone call. I contacted them and they told me to bring it in because this happens all the time and they will take a look at it. I brought my phone back and when I came to pick it up Angel informed me that my phones motherboard was now not working and that they didn't cause it, he then proceeded to refund me my money for the charging port they installed (which if the motherboard not working wasn't their fault why would you return me my money for a service you provided). I now had to purchase and entirely new phone, and upon doing this I noticed my charging port was now not responding at all after Angel attempted to fix the problem, I contacted him and he told me to bring my phone into the store and it was just a wire that needed to be placed correctly. I attempted to back up my phone but could not complete the task due to it needing to be connected to a power source in order to complete, at this point my phone is still working perfectly besides the charging port not responding. I brought it back and when I returned Angel informed me that now my phone wont respond at all only the apple picture shows up and that he didn't do it that was how I dropped it off, which was completely untrue. Angel was extremely rude, unprofessional and ignorant, he was sarcastic in his responses telling me that "no one brings them things that aren't broken", and that they didn't break my phone and I have the number for corporate he wouldn't let me speak to anyone above him. I have lost all the data from my phone including photos of deceased family I am attempting to recover but may never. I went from having a perfectly working phone with a charging port issue to over $1000.00 in bills to fix what Angel and UBREAKIFIX broke. They made zero effort to fix the problem they caused and had an attitude that they could not care less. I will be contacting their corporate number and filing a complaint. I would not take anything you value here because you are risking putting something in the hands of people who will do more damage than help. read more

This place is a joke. All I needed was repair estimate and for almost two weeks I did not get it. I made an appointment, I came but they sad their system broke, so I needed to make another appointment. I made it I came again, they told me motherboard was broke so they can send me repair estimate on my email (I need it for my credit card). After two days I called them I said I still didn't receive any email, and they said I need to come another time. Plus twice I talked to them they were pretty rude, only the third time I talked to them, someone nice was on the phone. read more

Horrible place...scam and totally unprofessional swindlers. I brought in my iPhone for a screen repair. Mind you only the screen was broken. Everything else worked perfectly including my Face ID. Even though my phone screen was cracked my Face ID worked. After about 3 hours When I came to pick up my phone I made sure it was functioning properly before I left. I noticed that my Face ID was not working and I was unable to hear anything when making phone calls. The so called "manager" blamed me and said the phone was like that when I brought it in and the reason why my Face ID was not working was because I didn't turn off the find my iPhone application. They tried to charge me 160 for the repair even though they damaged my phone even more. I refused and made them lower down to 100 which was still too much. They tried to make me feel like I was crazy and that my Face ID was already broken. I took my phone to another place called tec.1 8 repairs (Which offered me faster and an affordable repair) they verified my suspicion about my Face ID, my Face ID component in my phone was MISSING not only that my ear piece in my phone was missing as well. You break I fix took out my Face ID and ear piece component and didn't even tell me and tried to blame me and hid the fact that they messed up on top of that they tried to omake me pay full price. Do not and I mean absolutely do not come to this place. If you want better service and affordable prices go to tec. 1 8 repairs on Elston ave. They fixed my phone in 30 min and only charged 80 bucks. read more

Read carefully because this is the most accurate representation of this location you'll find. Do not believe the majority of positive reviews especially one saying they had a free service because this location is stingy on everything( i accidentally order the wrong color for my back housing on my phone and i realized when i got into the store. Lucky they had the right color but STILL charged me the expedited shipping for the other color because they still had to order the other color as well. that is terrible customer service right off the bat.)and the only things they ever seem to properly repair are units that just need to be cleaned out. Now read my experience I would not recommend ever coming to the Norridge location for any repair whatsoever. I came here to replace the front screen and back housing on my note 9, and now due to what I believe was improper installation water was able to get into my phone and ruined it. when I dropped my phone at the pool in Mexico water rushed in through the physical control buttons on the side and now, I believe the phone is a gonner. The phone heated up tremendously and the water trapped in the phone evaporated inside the phone (the fog in the camera lenses you see in the picture is water droplets stuck in there, whichshould have never been able to get into). The reason I knew water got in through the physical buttons was because when I blew in through the speaker side to check for a weak seal, there was a lot of resistance on each opening, charge port aux pen speaker that side was good, but when I started blowing through the physical buttons it sounded like a shitty whistle and I could hear the water being pushed by the air. A phone that has an ip68 rating and not even 2 days after getting it COMPLETELY repaired, I drop it into 2 feet of water for 5 seconds top and its shot. I did not have to get my screen fixed but aesthetically it was bothering me. Functionality it had no issues, always took it in the shower to listen to music, didn't need to get it fixed and I wish I never did. When I initially came in the store, they had just given a different customer their "repaired iPhone", I overheard the issue with the phone I heard that his home button wasn't working, and the customer had replaced it with the app that helps you get around it. Not knowing this the service tech started tapping the button installed from the app to show the customer the phone was finally working after claiming to have realigned the sensors and fixing it, not realizing she was hitting the wrong button AND after being corrected she tried testing the home button it still did not work. talk about lack of knowledge and experience and a complete embarrassment. This should have been the first sign to walk right the fuck out but since I was in a rush having a vacation starting the day after I went ahead anyway giving the store the benefit of the doubt. Even after the damage I thought maybe it was just being weird and that it wasn't a faulty install, but after coming across a customer review on yelp by the name of David k. I saw that he had a similar issue. Went to get screen replaced on phone, wasn't done properly and gave him more issues you can look and see his review for yourself. I saw other low reviews on yelp and google with the same issue, lazy or half assed installs giving you different problems than you came in with. What bothers me the most is that after reading these reviews I wonder why hasn't the employee either improved or been replaced and why management hasn't seemed to have done anything to improve the checking and testing of units before they go out back into customers hands? And since no warranty covers water damage or liquid that enters the phone I'm now in Mexico without a working cellphone for 4 more days, out 300 bucks for a shit install, and soon to be another 1300+ for a new phone that I'm going to have to buy the instant I land because I'll have work the following day. now I'll have no problem to pay the extra fucking money and have the products manufacturer resolve any issues read more
