I recently had an unfortunate customer service experience at the North Andover Staples. First, they were short-staffed, which I understand and waited patiently in line with the cashier alternated between Amazon and Staples customers. Once I approached the line to return a package, the cashier took three other customers before me, which was unfair. When I asked him about assisting me, he got an attitude and said he had to help those customers. His colleague rudely interrupted our conversation and said he had to help the paying customers first. Well, I was a paying customer, too. The cashier returned my package after which I promptly returned to the floor the merchandise I was going to purchase. Never again. We went in to get posters for the funeral of our brother, who died unexpectedly at 27. Abeer in the print shop was so kind and compassionate and helped us make sure the posters were exactly what we needed to honor our brother. I go to staples typically 4 times or so a year for school supplies, calendars, printing needs occasionally and always for printer ink. My most recent trip was last week. I got ink for my printer there. The service was great and the staff were friendly. I was in an out quickly and I found my product fast. They offer a good variety of papers, office supplies and have a cool little clearance section in the back that I always check out for random deals. I appreciate having such a good office store so close by! read more

This Staples just felt a little different in terms of organization and layout. It had more of a warehouse feel than a store feel, perhaps because of the lighting, the very high shelves along the back walls, and the unusual layout of the products. Things are at least well marked so that you will eventually be able to find what you wanted. But for a weeknight, it also felt like it was slightly understaffed, especially with only one person working the register, a bit of a line, and the appearance of not being able to call anyone else up to assist. We found what we needed, but it took slightly longer to find it and check it out than expected. read more

I should have listened the printing service here is extremely slow, I needed business cards and I was told it can be only done online so got home and started to design myself some cards, after paying it said any orders before 2pm will be done same day. I called around 4 that day and they were not ready. I call the next day same story, still not ready. Ok lady that answered said they will be ready later on that night. I decide to wait till the next day. I am here now at this location and my cards are ready but they need to be cut. I am still here waiting. read more

I am writing this review on my new laptop that I purchased at another retailer 20 minutes after I was told by the assistant manager that he would not let me skip his process (aka checklist to a very lame sales pitch) and just buy a laptop. His exact reply was "we don't let people walk out of here with just ANY laptop." I repeated three times that I already researched the one I want and just would please like to purchase it because I had no time for the "process", he refused. Most awkward shopping experience I have ever had. Hope staples isn't making their employees adhere to this as any means of income because its a sucky process. read more

I just have to post something nice about this store after my experience yesterday. I was printing a color booklet for a free workshop. It was 8:00pm, and the copy center was very busy. The associate was very busy printing jobs and helping customers, so when she offered to print my copies, she accidentally printed it before giving me my quote. (This is majorly summed up, I was there for about 30 minutes last night.) I also did not ask or do the math myself...that was my mistake. I didn't realize that color copies were 49 cents a side...and my document was nearly all color pages, in total, 408 pages. Well, if you do the math, you can see how much I owed Staples! I was shocked. I had no idea, because I stupidly didn't calculate the cost. Since it was a free workshop, I really should have priced it out. Well the associate saw my shocked face and guessed that I was really not expecting it to be that much and she apologized for not giving me a quote. She played with the numbers a bit, trying to get the price down and then asked the manager if she could discount my copies. She ended up charging me for the black and white cost instead, which was less than a third of the original cost - and I readily agreed being so embarrassed as to have them make all these copies and then not be prepared to pay! I've never done anything like this before. So I was so grateful. AM grateful! They were really very accommodating and sweet about it. I can't thank them enough for working to help me. I hope they know that if I could have paid the full price, I would have. The copies are beautiful and worth the 49 cents each. Thank you...and I won't be making that blunder again! read more

This is a great Staples location with a decent size parking lot. Getting in and out of it, mostly out can be a challenge as they route you around the back to a central exit. This is a fantastic story to go to for back to school shopping. They have tons of employees positioned throughout the store helping you to locate the items on your respective lists. Price wise I thing they are more than reasonable during the back to school shopping event. They also price match which can add additional savings if you can pull it then other stores pricing on your price or with a print out from home. They have greatly increased their electronics department and now carry a wide variety of Apple products including the Verizon iPhone 6. Nice store, helpful staff, good location help to make this a decent selection for school or office supplies. read more

I went to Staples today, just to buy a new cartridge for my printer.There were only 2 employees on the huge floor (fairly new retail store for Staples), and NO one offered help or was even available on a holiday Monday, when there are only 10 or less customers on the floor at all. The only one near me was helping a woman buy a printer, I think.... and she was older and neither she nor her daughter/friend (?) seemed to complete the sale. I told the gentleman waiting on her for quite some time, as I roamed thru the printer cartridges, that I still needed some help. Finally, he was done with that women, and confirmed what cartridge I needed. The End. Staples tries to employ as few associates on the floor as possible. The CEO should read these Yelp reviews and other ones, to see how he got so rich, and NOT by hiring more staff on a long weekend. read more

Needed simple B/W copy prints. Totally dysfunctional! Went to store with file on flash drive. They were very busy w/holiday orders and suggested I use their kiosk to order prints. All three were out of order. CSR suggested I take their e-mail address and send my request and print via e-mail. I complied and received a confirmation that the file was received. After 4 days, I tried to call - placed on permanent "hold". Visited the store for pick-up only to learn they never received my order. Expressed frustration to manager only to learn "we have been having problems with our e-mail/ordering system". Why pray tell, would the employee suggested to me that I email the order!!! The manager was very indifferent to my problem. . . .consequently, I found another local print resource in town. read more

Do not buy any extended warranty from Staples. They push hard to sell it with all electronic products . They say it will replace any defective or broken with out any hassle . When my printer stop working , they provided ME WITH non working number. They want nothing to do with the warranty they sold me. Staples in North Andover are unhelpful , rude and lazy. Instead of helping me , they team up on me to have leave the store. By the way, the warranty company is not bad. read more

When dropping off a very small printing job; black ink-no color-45 sheets total, I was asked if I'd like to wait or come back. Since there were no other customers there at the time, I said, "I'd wait". They said, "Fine". They did the job, packaged it and sent me on my way. As I was looking at my receipt I found a charge for $3.36 labeled "Express Guarantee". I called the store and asked what this was. I was told they automatically charge this fee if a customer waits for a printing job; but if the job is left and the customer returns later there is no fee. This is not posted anywhere nor do they tell you about it at the time of ordering. They did remove the charge from my card but it took a phone call and talking to 2 different managers! read more

Beware of the self copy center!!! The copy machines are not clearly labeled, I used the color copier to make 14 black & white copies and was charged $14. The sign on the machine said .49 cents for color copies but didn't indicate that ALL copies are.49cents. When I went to see if I could get the $5.60 back that I was over charged because I didn't make a color copy the condescending manager told me this rarely happens, its my fault, and he wasn't going to do anything!!! I have spent a lot of money at Staples, but after this interaction I think there are a lot of other places around town that appreciate your business. read more

UPDATE on the review below...The package they sent was returned to me because they got it all wrong. Totally incompetent. I wish I could give the zero stars. I went to have copies made of a 20 page document and was told I had to do it myself on their equipment. Then, I needed to mail something. So I was told to go to the postal desk, which was not staffed and was 12 feet away in full view of the copy desk. There was no one else in line at the copy desk but the copy person did not come over to help me mail my package. Someone else was called in and he did not know what to do. He froze the system. The copy person came over and un froze it. Then he still didn't know what to do so they called in someone else who also did not know what to do. Then, the copy person, who all the time knew what to do finally came over to help... started to help me and said, 'Wait I have to go help that new person over at the copy desk.' I recoiled in a way of expressing total disbelief. She stayed and helped me, taking literally 2 minutes to process my package. This copy/postage desk just stinks. read more

It amazes me that I have placed the same copy order multiple times at different locations and not one staples can get it right. Lines are often long and the staff appear inexperienced or unfamiliar with the computer system. Ultimately I order was wrong and another week for the correct one to come. Frustrating. I verified the order multiple times as clearly as possible when placing it and even provided a sample of how the document should appear. Looks like staff needs better training and manager should be more readily available when needed. read more

Do not go here for any printing. Especially anything important. The customer service is terrible. When you ask them to print something, they look at you like you have just threatened their entire family. Then when you pick it up, it is wrong. I noticed that my print outs looked a bit pixilated. I asked about it. They tried to tell me it was my file. Now I've been a Graphic Designer for over 17 years. It's my industry... Nice try but it was definitely Not my file! They stood their ground and wouldn't back down. These things can happen and they made me question myself. When I got home, I checked my file which was a high resolution pdf: it was fine. And I printed it. My printout was fine and not pixilated. I noticed that on the thumb drive I had given them there were jpgs. Now I did not create these and would never supply jpgs for a print file. Someone there must have created them and then must have printed from them... They were not high res. I don't know why they did not print from the file I gave them. (Which are types of files I always give any professional printing service with no problems) I brought them back along with my print out to show the difference. The girl at the counter this time was super confrontational at the start. I simply was explaining what happened and why I wanted to return it. She told me she could not tell the difference. She called a manager over and I explained what happened and she tried to tell me it was my file at first and when I started talking about printing from a pixel based file vs a vector she realized she could not win that conversation, but she felt threatened and instead of just saying "we will do them over" she felt the need to say "I know this, I deal with this all day" She never said sorry that they did them wrong... They made me feel like I had inconvenienced them!!! So I had my receipt. Got my money back. As I left, this manager made a scene by throwing my print outs loudly into the trash. This was front of other customers and in front of her employees. Don't go here! Not worth it! read more

I regularly have to copy or scan and occasionally need to run to Staples in North Andover (Route 114) and, each time, I'm reminded of how unhelpful the staff there is and how unreliable the machines are (there's never a full compliment of working machines). If you can, avoid. read more

I would just like to say I've had to deal with Staples print center about 5 times in the past 2 weeks and the service has been alright, but when I went to pick up a reprint that was also incorrectly printed, one of the workers was VERY rude and loud with me when I politely said it was still incorrect and that I told the gentleman working the day before that it was a different file to be printed she continued to blame me and another worker had to quiet her down. I will not be returning there for future services. Majority of the print center staff I have worked with have been so slow and act like they do not care what so ever. read more

Went in to get business cards because the online system was giving me a hard time. The copy and print center had two employees, neither of which offered to help. When they did decide to ask me what I needed I explained to them about my dilemma and if i could have them do it for me. They refused to even try to help me out and just told me to go online and do it myself, "it's easy, just go online" she told me. The staples in reading helped me just fine with the same issue last time I went and thought I would get the same professional service here, guess I was wrong. management needs some serious revamping here. read more

I have been using this location since the shopping mall in this location opened, about 10 years ago. recently I have noticed a deterioration in the quality of service and availability of certain items. case in point: I was in the story last week, on December 8, looking for a Staples brand calendar, months only,for 2015 same version we have for 2014. the store only carried only one, non Staples brand calendar, twice as expensive as the Staples brand. no one knew whether more calendars would be coming in or whether Staples no longer sells their own brand. it was suggested that I order the calendar on line. we did order on line and once I got the email that the calendar is in the store, I went to pick it up. it took them close to 30 minutes for the manager finally to find it. I wonder if they are having a hard time finding, training and keeping people in that store. read more

9/29/17 2:30pm Literally fuming as I'm typing this review immediately following yet another horrible experience that I was subjected to at this location. The staff at the copy/print desk are totally unhelpful, not knowledgeable whatsoever, and the woman who was supposedly "running" that area was completely RUDE. They could not open a simple pdf file containing the image I wanted for a 2x4 ft banner which I needed for an exposition. They told me I had to create and submit the order online. I get back to my office and proceeded to create the order. BTW: Good luck trying to use Staples banner creation software which is horrible and NOT user-friendly whatsoever. After toiling with the creation software, I tried to submit the order with "pick up at store" option and it would not let me submit as I was paying in cash at the store upon pickup (which they said I could do). I called the store and the woman told me that I was "using the wrong Internet browser" and needed to use another version. (They could have forewarned me about this at the store) Using another browser, I repeated the tedious creation process and low and behold-no option to submit order. I called yet again, and the woman proceeded to tell me "you better submit the order within 5 minutes because a large order just came in" That's it, I've had it with this store and with STAPLES all together. They did away with USPS shipping, the print and create website is horrible, and the print staff are useless and rude. All done with Staples and that taboo-laden No. Andover dump. Amazon, Target, Best Buy, even Wal-Mart offers better service! read more

Staples has been increasingly disappointing over the past years...being less and less customer friendly. Today sealed the deal for the day I will avoid Staples at all costs. My mother was going to a Staples and offered to pick up a charger cord for my Android phone. She asked for their help and they gave her a charger for an iphone. So I went back, without a receipt, since she had it, and I asked for a simple common sense trade. Same cost iphone charger for microusb charger. Since I didn't have a receipt and the item had been on sale in the past 60 days (or maybe it was 90) I would need to pay another $9, about 50% of the original cost, for this even trade. Even the manager said he couldn't make the trade. So either he is so tuned into policy over common sense or Staples has such tight reins on their managers that he truly wasn't able to make this simple even swap. Either way, Staples has put customer service to the bottom of its priorities. And they are now at the bottom of mine. I have options. read more
