I'm not happy with the place. I feel the quality of their office material is going downhill. I bought 1,000 envelopes, most were damaged. The service was ok, I had to come back and they did do an exchange. Not long ago I bought a printer for $350+ that crapped out. Maybe the value they bring to the area isn't as good as it once was? I needed to print out an important document and ran out of ink at home so I stopped by Staples to use the printing center. This was my first time at the store and was so lost. This Staples shares a parking lot with a Red Lobster and a Party City, which is great if you need office supplies and mylar balloons for your office birthday lobster lunch. I popped in to buy some stationery--so I can't comment on any of the Copy Center associates--and I was approached by two friendly store associates who offered to help me locate what I was looking for. Just ran in to get a few things. The store was stocked but after checking out - I had around 6 items and was not asked if I wanted a bag while checking out. After the transaction I realized the cashier wasn't going to bag them so I asked for a bag. She wanted to run my card for 5 cents.... I get there's a bag fee but it would be appreciated if you asked if I wanted a bag before the transaction was completed. read more

I needed a 24 page photo montage printed and bound. Carrie was working alone on a Saturday morning. The store was very busy. Carrie was professional and efficient. She was sure to personally greet and take care of each person as they appeared. She was helpful and courteous. Most people would be overwhelmed. Carrie has a system and works to please all her customers. Please hire more people to assist in the printing department. She couldn't leave to use the restroom because there was no one to cover her area. Carrie does well alone, but no one should have to handle an entire department alone on a busy Saturday morning. I find it very rude that after handing the cashier my bills n change, he chucks my .20 change on the counter 1 at a time. I handed him my money and expect the same in return. Also stop trying to sell me items when I'm checking out. I was here around 2:20 pm to put in an order, the customer service was great, every associate we came across offered to assist us, now 4 hours later I'm back to pick up my order, I've been standing here waiting for about 15 minutes without a second of eye contact. I understand the 2 associates are helping other people but call for back up or acknowledge the waiting customers. Whatever happened to good customer service? I will never Patronized this location again. Then the young lady had a nerve to wait on 3 people who came after me, when I spoke up about it she had a nerve to say "I thought you were picking up!" It's like any other Staples but what I love is the Martha Stewart collection! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. She has awesome supplies for being organized and scrapbooking stuff. Some of it seems overpriced but for the most part it's pretty good. If you use your printer a lot and buy ink here, definitely sign up for the Rewards card and return your cartridges. After the quarter they will mail you $2 for every cartridge you return so you can put that towards whatever. Sweet deal for someone like me who prints at least 20 pictures a week. read more

I bought some printer cartridges there. The coupon I got via email from Staples would not work. The manager came right over and manually entered in the 20% discount that was promised on the coupon. Honestly, when the coupon did not initially work, I felt very awkward. But after the manager glanced at the coupon and was so friendly and understanding about the situation, I left feeling like this Staples store is a friendly place to shop and treats a person fairly. I will do all my companies office supply shopping here in the future. read more

Ordered some basic copies yesterday. At 2:40PM yesterday, I was e-mailed by Staples that my order was done even though I needed it today. So on my lunch break today, I drive there to pick them up. I am greeted by a very nice lady who goes to grab my order. I can see she's having trouble finding it. She comes back to the front 3 minutes later and says she called someone else in the department to come look. That lady shows up almost 5 minutes later and half heartedly looks and then just stands behind the computer. I mention to the first girl that I got the confirmation of it being done yesterday. She says she knows and that it's weird it's missing. I'm now late getting back from lunch with no copies, no time to get food, and with no idea if I'll even get the copies after work. Not professional in the least. Only reason I'm giving a second star is the politeness of the first girl. read more

When you need it fast and can not wait for it to come from Amazon this is the place for office supplies. I buy battery back ups, network cables, office chairs, etc... They also have an extensive on-line inventory to choose from. two thing I do not like; long lines and inexperienced help. Very rude on-site customer service. I ordered a good online for instore pick up. The item wasn't available (not sure how it went through in first place). Instead of explaining the options the guy just called the central customer service and requested to cancel the order. When I called later they said they could have shipped the item home instead of cancelling. When I asked them, there was not even apology. 30 minutes of driving for staples error and no apology is not what a business needs to survive in this age. Came here for resume paper and asked an associate pointed me in the complete opposite direction. Another employee walked me over to where it actually was and she was really nice. The check out guy was also really nice even though I was being a pain with the frequent fliers card. Overall a very organized and great store. Big parking lot so no need to worry about that. Went in to Staples in South Plainfield on the way home from my trip to the Menlo Park Mall. Needed to purchase some blank DVD's and an HP ink cartridge for my boyfriends printer. Right after I walked in the door I was immediately greeted by an employee who asked if he could assist me in finding anything. He then showed me exactly where the blank DVD's were and helped me pick out the package that I needed. He then directed me to where the HP cartridges were and asked which number cartridge I was specifically looking for. We both looked, but couldn't find the number cartridge that I needed. Wanting to make sure I found the right cartridge, the employee waited by the cartridges while I proceeded to call my boyfriend to make sure I had written down the correct number. . After I got the correct number the employee got the cartridge and handed it to me. It was really nice of him to wait while I found out the correct number. Most employees would not have taken the time to do that. Not sure if it was because I am really really short and he knew I wasn't able to reach even half of the cartridges or what, but I really appreciated his help!! Wish there were more employees like him in other stores!! He was extremely helpful and I left feeling very positive about my shopping experience and purchases. Went to get wedding invitations printed today as well as RSVP's, detail cards, etc. and the experience was so simple! My fiance and I were helped by KayLee and she made the process very simple and fun! We had the stationary chosen, everything printed and cut - same day! I was very disappointed with my recent visit to staples. I am not computer illetirate but I am not caught up with the differences between all of the new printers besides the fact that they are pretty much all wireless now. I only came to staples because I felt I could get a sales associate that would be able to inform me between the differences in their capabilities and their relation to price. I walked in looked through all of the printers for about 5 to 10 minutes which was fine because I wanted to see their options before speaking with anyone so I could develop some questions. After noticing a few printers I might be interested in a sales associate came over and asked if I had any questions. I showed him the 3 models that I was thinking of and explained to him I don't need the fanciest printer because I can do a lot of printing at work. I wanted a reliable printer that could also provide good photo quality prints and that I was hoping to stay under $200. He then proceeded to tell me nothing about the three printers I had chosen and directed me straight towards a $350 and $450 printer. I asked him what made them so good and he said "well...you are gonna have to pay a lot more money for these printers but they are awesome. My best friend has one and he says it's awesome". After looking at him with disbelief for a few seconds I gathered myself together so I would get angry and asked him if he could explain the features. He then did tell me the printing speed was much faster then all of the other printers on the floor but I explained to him that isn't necessarily a concern of mine I just wanted a good quality photo print. I then asked him if he could explain the difference between the 2 he pointed out to me (the $350 printer and the $450 printer) he then told me that the $450 printer is the one his friend has and it's better. I couldn't take anymore of his dumb comments, so I wrote down the model numbers and walked away from him. Not only did he not answer my questions and point me into a higher priced option for no reason the printers were cheaper online at best buy and amazon. I would have happily paid a few bucks more for a printer if a good sales associate answered my questions, informed me about differences and just helped me but I will not be heading back to this staples again. Poor service and overpriced. read more

All of the associates are extremely nice and helpful. I definitely need to give a shout out to Mike in the printing department! He is so helpful and efficient every time I am there. I got married over the summer and he helped me with my wedding menus, church programs, and place cards. I went back for the start of school and he helped me enlarge and laminate posters for my classroom. He gets it done quickly and it comes out perfectly--always willing to help and with a smile. Worst experience with the staff performing copies. While taking my order to copy 8 notebooks, the lady on the counter Tracy was reluctant. Instead of taking up the job enthusiastically she told me out right- " It will be faster if you do it yourself". I asked her " how long will it take you" and she replied back- " at least 48 hours". I said " no bad, I can wait, I would like to place an order for staple to do it". Then she gave me an estimate of $133. I was okay with it as the books were bulky. After no follow ups for 10 days and an hour on phone with customer care, the same lady who took up the job told me that now its going to cost me more and she doesn't know when exactly she will be able to finish it as the pages are falling off the book etc. etc. I was furious and immediately rushed to the store to talk to the supervisor, asked them for an explanation as to 1. Why wasn't a correct estimate given to me when the order was taken up? 2. Why was there no follow up calls until I called them back? After almost an hour of argument with the supervisor Nicole, she charged me an extra $79, agreed and apologized for her staff's carelessness and I had the work done by next day. Not to mention, the sloppiest job I have ever seen. They no more remembered the sequences of notebooks/pages (so I had to figure it out themselves) and if the job could be performed in 1 day, I am unable to understand what took the staff 10 days in the first place? I will not recommend the copying anything heavy duty or unconventional with staples, they have no clue what they are doing. Save your money dont go to this staples. read more
