I recently have printed some files at the Staples located in Weymouth. The sizes of my files range from 11" x 17" to 24" x 36". I placed an online order Sunday night into Monday morning, as my sister was actively dying, to have her poems printed for her memorial service. I went in Wednesday to pick it up. When I asked for my order I was met with one of the most shocking condescending & rude experiences I've ever had. Matt, the associate at the photo desk (white male, beanie, piercings) told me, with an attitude, that they "didn't print them" because I "didn't respond to the email" about a formatting issue. I calmly explained that my sister just passed away Monday morning, and I obviously was not checking emails while grieving. Instead of showing even a basic level of compassion or decency, he doubled down, talking over me and repeating, "When people don't answer emails, we don't do the print." What a vile human being to respond to someone while they are actively in pain. Being cruel to someone grieving says more about you than anything else, and the universe notices. Kindness costs nothing but karma will keep receipts. I don't expect employers at staples to care about my personal situation, but there is no excuse for being dismissive and disrespectful as an human to another human. If you value basic kindness or professionalism, take your business elsewhere. Especially when printing for funeral or memorial services. I hope Staples management addresses the complete lack of empathy and customer service displayed by Matt and the management team at this location. read more

I was wondering how a store like staples would only have one star. It became apparent when I had to deal with the staff. They are unhelpful and don't care about the customer. Except John(hope that's his name) I was in the day prior and John was so extremely helpful and thoughtful. I would have given this place 500 reviews praising their customer service. Today I went back and was told I had to wait until tomorrow for the service I needed. It was a slow night and had more staff compared to the day before. They charged me for something that was unreadable and when I told them about my service with John they said he should not have. Imagine telling a customer that the wonderful service they received was not how they do business. There is absolutely no reason to do business with them, except for John . Went into the store for a gift card / they had an issue with the cards loading and promised me that I was not charged. Ended up with $800 charges to my card and they have yet to refund it and it has been 10 business days. Did not respond back to my email inquiries - reach out to the corporate office and they did nothing to help. Won't take my calls either. read more

Matthew at the printing / UPS services was by far the worst customer experience I've ever had. Not helpful, extremely rude and sat on his phone claiming he couldn't help although I was the only customer around. I've had such great experiences at staples where they've been able to do the same request I asked Matthew but he claimed they couldn't and then wouldn't answer my questions. read more

I went to get a print out of a document in my phone. There was only one elderly man on the copy desk. I don't own a printer. Asked him 3 different times to come over & help me out. Hands me a business card , to do it myself. I don't know how to run a copy machine . He could have been done with me in 5 minutes, if he had just come over & helped me. But he would not. I had to find someone else in another dept to run the copier for me .Do not expect service at the N.Wey .Staples. I will never return. read more

I came here looking for colored magic markers. colored pencils and crayons. They had an aisle set up with exactly what I was looking for and more as far as coloring supplies goes. The store was laid out very good and it was relatively easy to find things. I did have to ask an employee where to find a pencil sharpener because I did not see one in the area that I would have expected to find one. And the person who asked led me to the pencil sharpener that I was looking for immediately. The prices seemed pretty fair and I ended up buying two more items than I had originally planned to buy so I will say that the merchandising skills in this store area pretty good. After I had found everything I needed I did give the store a spin to see what else they carry here at this location. I saw binders, lined paper, printing paper, pens, paperclips, tacks, highlighters, laptops, shipping supplies and other things that one would use for office or business. Most of these things would also come in handy for any student. The cashier up at the front of the store rang in my items fast and efficiently. Don't waste your time if you actually need to print something. They have 4 printer/scanner/copy machines which are all broken and the staff is too rude and lazy to help you print. I was referred to the customer service desk to print my documents but the woman there refused and told me to go back to the counter near the printers where 2 employees also refused. She then wrote down the staples website for me and presented like it was an email, but staples.com is a website and not an email. She wanted me to contact their corporate office to get my documents printed! I was trying to print a shipping label that was emailed to me and a 2 page typed rental contract. I have been using Staples for years and this morning they directly. Ripped me off, I'm 63 disabled and can get confused, I bought shipping supplies and it came to $31. Not much I know but my coupon was $7 off . I question her. And she said no worries u got it. I traveled to south Boston to my girlfriends. And she called them and explained, that the woman told me it was used. A man named Mike said he would give me the funds. Although this is the closest Staples to me I will most definitely not be coming here again. Time and again the service is virtually non-existent. You can roam the aisles for days looking for something and never bump into a salesperson to point you in the right direction. Overall the staffing is paltry and indifferent. I almost always have to wait forever in line to pay. I was tipped over the edge on a recent visit. I had gone to the store to pick up a number of items. When I checked out my transaction was completed using a debit card. A moment later the computer system at that register went down. At this point I had to move all my purchases over to another register. No one offered to help with this. The cashier asked me to swipe my card again. I told her that my transaction had gone through on the now dead register. She said "no it didn't". I said: "According to the screen (before it died and went black) it was clear that my transaction was completed." She insisted it could not have been so. I disagreed with her but I swiped my card again but I said I wanted proof that my transaction had not indeed gone through so that I would not be charged twice. She sighed and called over the manager who went through the motions of checking the system from another register. Ultimately he said he "didn't think" that first transaction went through but couldn't tell. He said: Just be sure to check your statement!". Gee, thanks for the tip!! Needless to say, upon checking my statement, I was in fact charged twice and was ultimately inconvenienced by having to go back to the store to deal with this...I called and was told I had to show up in person. It was only when I asked the manager (the same one I had dealt with initially) to give me the name and phone number of the person he reported to that he became a bit more helpful and solicitous. I know that computers/registers break down but I am not sure why they couldn't figure out that what I had been telling them all along, which was that the transaction had been completed prior to the register going down, was in fact accurate. Why does their problem become my inconvenience? While I try always to remember to bring my own bags into stores, I did not have one on this last visit. I ended up buying more things than I originally intended because there was a rebate special going on for printer paper. I bought several packages. The sales person left them in a pile on the counter. The smaller items I purchased went into a bag. The packages of paper were cumbersome, heavy and because there was no bag or shopping bag for them they were cumbersome. With my own handbag and the other Staples bag I had all to do to manage carrying everything out to my car. I was told they had no bags appropriate enough for the paper. Really? You sell a lot of computer paper...was there no spare box? As well, there was no offer for anyone to assist me in getting everything out to my car. Staples is happy to take your money, even if you are getting charged twice and less eager to help you or accommodate you in any way. No thank you to this store ever again. Look at the list of one star reviews for this mess of a store. Look at all the low star reviews for most of the Staples' stores in the area. Bad business. Disappointed with "Easy Tech." I brought my factory refurb Toshiba laptop and described the problem - it powers to a blank screen, and that's it. I told them I needed it to be brought back, but, before they did that, there were a handful of files that I needed them to get out of the HDD before they wiped it and got me back running. I though that they understood what I wanted, and paid the $69.99, plus about $10 for a thumbdrive. OK. Not great, but not awful. When I came to pick up the computer (much anticipation here), I found that they transferred the files (actually, my entire "My" section - documents, music and all), but did nothing to repair the machine itself. I still have a $400 electrically powered paperweight. When I asked about it, the clerk basically looked at me blankly. Finally, after some prodding, he told me that it would be another $170 to do what I really had wanted in the first place. Of course, if they told me $240 to start with, I probably would have walked, so at least their goal of getting a portion of my money (for a light duty service) was successful. When I told him how disappointed I was with the operation, as I was clear about what I needed, there was no apology and no offer of assistance. I felt that I had simply wasted my time. Whoa! Can you believe all the 1-star reviews for this place? It was so shocking that I had to read all the reviews before writing this one. Normally, a big business like this should have tons of reviews. Yet, there are only eight? A couple of takeaways, if you want to get tech support or custom printing from this place, maybe you might want to think twice. I honestly don't know because I have never gotten either service from this Staples. Otherwise, if you need some office item, it's a pretty decent bet that this location has it. This place has a solid location. It has plenty of parking, a McDonald's across the parking lot (for those times you just need a Quarter Pounder), a Lowes next door, and a bunch of other smaller stores on the far side of the parking lot. Is it the prettiest strip mall you've ever seen? Nope. But it doesn't need to be. I've gone to this Staples probably 15 times in the past several months, and I've never had a problem. Okay, there is a systemic problem for all Staples which is the ridiculous way that they do their product rebate system. My feeling is that if you have their Staples Reward membership and buy stuff that gets credited to it, then you should automatically get the rebate applied to your purchase total upon checkout. Oh wait, I do have a Staples Reward membership, and it's been pure frustration. I keep getting told that I have two different accounts, and I've called their main customer support number several times and supposedly consolidated the accounts only to have the second one reappear. What's particular dumb about this system is that Staples doesn't give their on-site customer service reps the ability to fix this problem. That's a serious pain in the ass because trying to fix it with Staples Rewards headquarters is kind of like trying to determine if your dog is dragging his/her ass on the ground and not pooping well because his/her anal sacs are overfilled or because your dog has a tick bite on the ass and hasn't been getting enough fiber: it's pretty darn difficult to figure out. Seriously, how many times are you ever going to read a Yelp review alluding to canine anal sacs? I grew up with more than 10 dogs and I never once saw any of them drag their ass on the ground until a few months ago when I met this one particular pug who did it routinely. She's the cutest pug I've ever met, but boy does she literally drag her ass around. But I digress... If you know what you want, it's a pretty good bet that this Staples has it: Printer ink, planners, paper, pens, chairs, some electronics, etc. As far as the customer service at checkout, people have to stop expecting the employees to have all the answers. Is it unfortunate that you happen to swipe your card and the reader chooses that very moment to go dead? Absolutely. Is this a common event? Absolutely not. So, cut the employees some slack if they don't know the answer. In the end, it's up to each customer to make sure that their account is accurately charged when something strange happens in a store. I'm not saying that Staples doesn't have problems. The company has some significant issues, and the largest problem they suffer from is that there is the common disconnect between the ground-floor employees and the people in the corporate boardroom deciding on which cute marketing scheme to go with next. But that's not the fault of the employees. As far as I'm concerned, as long as a store has what I want, I'm willing to put up with a lot because it's far more convenient for me to run there when I have a last-minute necessity rather than pay $10+ for Amazon to ship it to me next day express. And so I'm willing to put up with slow checkout lines and other small inconveniences for the greater convenience of getting what I want immediately within an hour of when I realize I need it. read more

If you don't have a broken printer with no ink at home, this is a great place to come use their broken printers with no ink. Or maybe you just want to learn how to service a photocopier on your own? Or you're just driving by and feel a sudden urge to clear a paper jam? They certainly maintain that mystique by always keepin' you guessing as to how much you're being charged. Meh on prices, selection. I go because it's the only real office store in Weymouth. I haven't tried the shipping center but would like to. I like their program where they give you a $2 credit for each empty ink cartridge you return. They have increased the amount of items that would appeal to small businesses over the years. Members get free shipping either to their home or to the store, I would like to try it. I like how they sell individual shipping items that usually come in bulk packs such as boxes, mailers, mailing tubes. They have a fairly good selection of recycled products online, but few of them are available in store which is frustrating. Once I was there when their servers crashed and no one could complete their purchases. That way annoying but also a temporary fluke. read more

And when I talk to other people they say the same thing. I asked two different employees today if they had large graph paper. Both said no. And they had SO many options. The copy and print center here is great, people are knowledgable and responsive. Tech support for me was dreadful - Took over two weeks to arrange for a site visit by the tech and then they canceled the appointment over an hour after the agreed on time, citing sickness. Difficult to arrange as well. I reached out to them expecting better from a branded outlet, would avoid using this serviice. read more

After having ordered over $200 in baby shower invites which I was very pleased with after being helped by Phoebe I went to order matching thank you notes for post baby shower. I was "greeted" for lack of better word by printing supervisor Diane on 10/27/17 who asked me if I was there for pick up as I was standing in the place order line. Her uncomfortable and cold demeanor was evident from my first approaching which I found shocking for someone who is to be a manager and after having recent great experiences there with all other employees. I politely told her I would like to place an order. She immediately and rudely says "There's nothing I can do for you tonight! You would have to get it tomorrow" as if this would deter me from placing the order. I informed her that was fine although I found it odd since it was not yet 6pm. I informed her what I wanted and she told me I could not order what I wanted on the paper I requested again in a horribly rude manner. I informed her I had already placed an order for 100 others just like this. She then asked me how much I was charged and she said that was incorrect and she would charge me as a "custom order." At this point I became upset at her overall attitude, lack of professionalism and customer service and the manner she was attacking me and addressed this with her-a position a customer should never have to be put in. I explained how I had ordered several order exactly like this with absolutely NO PROBLEM here a week before and at another store. She proceeds to tell me all stores are different and she is the supervisor (clearly on a power trip). She finally agrees to honor my request and the price I had and tells me to come back tomorrow showing me no proof/sample which I requested. She becomes upset and stated she still does not understand what I ordered and that to upload and get me a proof which is standard to this procedure would take 20 minutes. I AGAIN explain which was simple (a double sided note identical to my previously ordered invites). I expressed my concern that she was going to have me place an order for 75 items for over $110 and not as so much provide this or know what I ordered. I come back after 20 minutes to see that she did not do one side and used the complete wrong colors causing me to cancel my order completely. She says nothing as I walk out really disappointed and disheartened. I find this completely unacceptable behavior from any employee nevermind someone who is supposed to be in a leadership role. I was very excited for this project in my journey to motherhood and have enjoyed doing projects like this until this experience which this rude little girl ruined for me for absolutely no reason. I really hope you offer better training for your supervisors as this little girl needs it. Phoebe on the other hand and the other older woman there were more than kind. This store should have probably rethought their decision when promoting or hiring this other person. I will be taking my business (which is PLENTY) somewhere else thanks to her. I hope I can find someone like Phoebe from 2 saturdays ago somewhere else however. She was amazing! so attentive and everything a store should value. This was just unacceptable and just really sad to treat anyone but especially a happy excited mother to be like this is appalling. read more

Went in there for 2 simple copy projects. The first was a poster. They had issues with their printer and messed up the color. When I went in to pick it up (having not remembered what the proper color should be) they knew the color was off but because I didn't say anything, gave it to me anyway without saying anything. The second project was a simple flyer, for which they originally said they could do it but then called me later right before I was to pick it up, saying that the project was too "tedious" and the supervisor wouldn't do it. The only solution was to use more expensive paper that doubled the cost. When I complained about the bait and switch and said I didn't want it at this cost, the service rep said "ok" and hung up the phone. Awful service for expensive work. Lots of better options. read more
