They are a busy post office with nice people. Everytime I go there I have a good experience.

Has anyone ever been here when there isn't a line out the door??? I haven't! Waited 48 minutes

It's the USPS. They sell stamps, mail packages, have (sometimes) painfully long lines, and from what I understand, they even used to have one of those awesome APC machines but took it out?? Anyhow, you are probably wondering why I am giving the Norwood PO 5 stars instead of 1 star, so here is the story: I shipped a package the week before Easter to Anchorage AK via Priority mail. Should be easy... it gets on a plane in Boston, zooms to Anchorage, and goes straight to someone's office. Well, said VIP ("very important package") got to Anchorage, was scanned in at that PO (watch for THAT Yelp review!) and just disappeared. After checking online about 20x, I ventured into the Norwood PO and chatted with Wayne. I told him the whole story (probably more than he wanted to know) of the special Easter candy that was going to my ex-boyfriend, and now the AK PO lost it. My life was/is determined to wind up like a Saturday night Lifetime movie. Sigh. Wayne called the Anchorage PO. I called them. You cannot imagine the incompetence there (I was put on hold, had someone ask if I sent the package to myself.... you get the idea) and when Wayne and I finally saw each other again, we had to laugh about how ridiculous the whole thing was. The two guys working today, John and Joseph (I think that's his name) even remembered all of this from 2 weeks ago, so I got my refund since AK dropped the ball. My business is on Access Rd in Norwood which the Norwood Post Office cannot seem to find most days! They just DON'T show up at all! When we call them we get the usual song and dance that they are short handed but really that is getting very old. Once last month a huge pile of undelivered mail was found in a heap at the end of the building!!! WTF???? It's a glorified paper route and they cannot handle it at all and we are supposed to have faith in their handeling of VOTES in our elections??? What a joke! read more

I love the Westwood Post Office. That being said, I don't ever like to rush on Saturday mornings to get there, and if I need to send something out will just come here, as the Norwood PO is open till 3 on Saturdays. So, on Saturdays I visit the Norwood PO. I experience ALMOST the same great staff and great service here as in Westwood. Theresa, BettyLou, and the management lady are all super friendly, kind, and helpful. Yes, lots of times there are lines, but the employees always try to keep them at a minimum. Passports and more prepaid boxes are available here and the inside has much more space than at other Post Offices. What I haven't mentioned is the drive thru! If anyone who is reading this has read any of my other reviews, you would know my obsession with drive thrus. Seriously, who would go in somewhere or get out of your car when you could just drive thru. In the parking lot of this post office, there is an area to drive up and drop off envelopes. I use it at least once a week. Great feature of this PO! Overall, good post office in the area, but I still prefer Westwood. 4 stars read more

I would like to take a minute to give public "Thank You" to Betty-Lou. From the Norwood Main Post Office. She did a great job today helping me and I wanted to say thank you. I know that working at the post office can be very stressful and demanding, but her poise, smile and professionalism is greatly appreciated. I was sending a letter priority mail and asked her were I should affix the conformation slip. she explained it should be put on the front of the envelope, then explained the conformation process, showed me were the tracking number was located and that I can go online to check the status of the package on the post office website. again thank you for all of your help and assistance. This is the worst post office I have ever used. The line is consistently 45+ minutes to wait in even if there are only 3 people in line. They lose my mail constantly or deliver it to the wrong building. Chatty, elderly, unmotivated workers - thanks, government! Can't wait until I move out of this town, you can't get worse service. The DMV is more efficient than this dump. read more

I'm fairly new to shipping items from the post office, the gentleman at the front desk was super helpful and very appreciative of my business. In and out within 5 minutes flat. Happy customer! read more

The lines at this post office are awful. They often have 1 person working. Be prepared to wait!!! It seems so crazy that the lines get out the door and they still don't open up another register. Save time and go to the East Walpole post office. So much faster. read more

Never had a bad experience at this Norwood Post Office. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our mailman is great. I try to avoid going on the weekends as it gets busy, but the line generally move pretty fast. There is a separate line for Passports and retail. read more

I applied for a Passport in the Norwood MA USPS. I had shot my Passport photo myself and they carefully showed me how it did not meet spec. They then suggested a number of places I could get one made, CVS, AAA, etc--or have them do it. I chose them and only wished I'd smiled more. The staff were friendly and efficient and the whole process went smoothly. Just now, several days after submitting my app, I called their local number and to my great surprise, "John" answered on the FIRST RING! Unheard of in this day-and-age. The most terrible experience at the Norwood Post Office. Went in to renew passports today and the postal worker behind the counter was the worst. He was unable to clearly answer our questions, rushed us so he could move on to the next customer and we could not understand a word he said!! No patience or customer service skills at all. Left so frustrated and went to Dedham Square post office, where the female postal worker was so helpful, pleasant, patient and answered ALL of our questions clearly. She never made us feel rushed and I will NEVER go back to Norwood P.O. They need some classes in Customer service skills. read more

I went to the post office to ship something. I had everything ready to go. The only thing that I did not do it tape the pre-paid label to the box because I was in a rush and forgot. Usually from my past experiences and all the other post offices in this area, I have never had issues with this. They would just tape the label on the box for me. I mean after all I am a fully paying loyal customers. This post office told me I had to BUY tape...Here I am a loyal customers and I bringing them business and I have to buy the tape? No wonder people go to FedEx or UPS, because they pack it up for you. I mean is this the cheapest post office or what? Definitely will go out of my way next time to go to another post office where the services is better and they won't make my buy tape... read more

I sent a very important piece of mail out to the wrong address in Norwood on Friday, October 20th. Over the weekend, I was given the correct address. I called the Norwood Post Office right after 9 am on Monday morning, and spoke to an employee named Maryellen, who took down the information and said she'd contact the carrier and see what could be done. Only one half hour later, she called me back and told me that she had the piece of mail in her hand, and would change the address for me. I can't begin to say how important this was for me - I'm beyond impressed and thrilled that this problem was solved!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! read more

I don't normally write reviews, & this is my 1st review about any post office, but I had to write one about Norwood Post Office because they deserve recognition for how well they have treated me any time I've gone there.:) I too agree with the previous reviewer that Norwood Post Office, which is located beside Norwood Hospital, is a great Post Office!!:) The USPS employees who work at this post office are by far, the nicest I've met!:) Wayne, Milo and John are always very helpful, professional and nice!! I've been to this post office to mail packages, submit a damaged item for inspection, buy stamps, apply for a passport, etc, and they've provided me with wonderful service every time!:) I go out of my way to visit this post office because of how nice, helpful & professional they are, not just because of the close & convenient proximity to Norwood Hospital and the shops such as Shaws Supermarket, Dunkin Donuts & the Indian grocery store, Shiva Bazaar which are located a few minutes away (by car) from this post office.:) The USPS employees at this post office are even patient, professional and courteous when I call their post office on the phone and ask a bunch of questions!:) Norwood Post Office is my favorite post office for sure!
