Great service. I used to drop off my clothes and blankets off at their Hingham store (nicest women) but they now pickup and deliver my items at my apartment complex. They text when my things are ready to be picked up from the private closet. They clean leather items, too! read more

I am not sure how dependable this cleaner is! House in a gorgeous old building in an uber convenient location near the bagel shop, it is easy to drop in and pick up your items, however that is where the convenience stops! Nothing is done on site, and it seems like most of the times I go the poor counter people are swamped, and seem to be ill managed, to no fault of their own. I have had a lot of issues with them em not know about groupons, computers being down, but more importantly it seems like the manager isn't doing a great job. She has not called me back numerous times, and I have watched many other customers complain about them ruining garments etc. My first annoyance was when I needed a custom rug cleaned- i called around multiple places for pricing and when I spoke to them she gave me a price per foot quote. I specifically bought a groupon to apply since we are talking over $100 dollars. When I showed up she completely changed her story, and the quote by more that $60. She insisted I called a different place, even when I showed her my phone record on my cell phone, bottom line is for less money I would have gone to a rug cleaner! Another time they charged three very similar blouses, all the same content very different prices, their pricing systems seems very expensive, not consistent etc. The one good thing I will say is that the home delivery service guy is a sweetheart. He is on time, gives the dog a treat, and when I miss putting it out, he comes back! read more

I wish you could give zero stars. This place is the worst! I go to the other Dependable Cleaners in Watertown all the time and have never had a problem, but this shop is different. The people here are SO RUDE. TLDR: While failing to remove stains from a dress, they added a new stain. They cleaned it again and failed to fully remove the stain they had caused. They never said they were sorry. They refused to give me a refund and treated me like I was the bitch. Also, someone who works there actually made up a bizarre story that I had asked for reimbursement for gas to come back there for the dress. That is not the kind of thing I want to deal with. She probably shouldn't be in customer service. Full version: I brought a dress in for stain removal & I only had 24 hours before I needed to wear it. My fault. They couldn't get them out in time. Fine, no problem, stain removal is never guaranteed & I had given short notice to boot. However, they actually added a new stain which was much more noticeable than the small spots I brought it in for. I hadn't packed anything else so I still had to take it & wear it like that to my own wedding rehearsal dinner. I wasn't happy, but I still wasn't mad at them yet. The lady said I could bring it back for a free redo after I wore it, so I did. When I got back from my honeymoon I went to pick it up. All the stains, including the one they caused, were still there. I asked the lady if she could see the stain that they had caused & she agreed that she saw it. I suggested that they should refund me for the cleaning and also complained that it wasn't convenient for me to drive back down from Watertown to Hingham again for this and asked if I could take it to another location for the second redo which she had very reluctantly agreed to grant me. She said if I wanted any chance at a refund I would have to leave the dress for her manager to look at & that the manager would call me the next day. She didn't even bat an eye at the major distance she was asking me to drive AGAIN. Also, no one ever said they were sorry for any of this. Not the stain, not the inconvenience, nothing. No apology ever. When someone did call me back it was not actually the next day, of course, and it also wasn't the manager. They left a rude message in which they said they didn't see any stain and also that my "request to be refunded for gas for the long trip" was not going to happen. I never asked for that. I asked for a refund of what I paid them for the cleaning, which I don't think is unreasonable. I really don't appreciate the fact that someone in that shop clearly made up a rather unflattering story about me to make me sound like some kind of customer service nightmare, which I am not. I don't expect a lot from service industry workers but I do expect them to respect the line between fantasy and reality. Worst ever. read more

These guys lost one of my shirts, then a pair of slacks, until I complained and they suddenly found them. But when they ripped the seat on the pants of a $1,200 suit I was furious. They took weeks to respond and finally said that I couldn't prove anything but they'd offer $60 in free dry cleaning. They left stained collars on my shirts, lost and ruined my clothes, and they don't give a damn about the customer. read more

I've been using Dependable Cleaners for about 2 years now. My first few experiences were great. In the past 6 months they have ruined 3 of my shirts. The first time a shirt got ruined, it had an obvious machine cut at the elbow. A horizontal slice that had almost no fabric tearing around it and was about 3 inches long. Clearly, it would have been impossible for me to have cut the shirt during normal wear. When I brought it in to show the manager, she promised to look into it and get back to me. After a month of waiting I finally ran into her in the store and discussed the shirt. She informed me there was nothing she could do and that the cut was my fault due to wear... Against my better judgement at this point, I continued to use their service. I recently received two more shirts with fraying/pinching on the sleeve and fraying at the elbow. Seems to happen most often with fabric that is textured and not smooth. Needless to say I would not recommend them, subpar service and management refuses to repair or replace garments they damage. Completely unacceptable. read more

Be careful when using the 44cent off coupon for men's shirts. They will end up charging you for a dry cleaning of a shirt; even when you give them written and verbal instructions to launder the shirts only. This has happened to me three times, and once you pay, the staff can not issue a refund. Not a good way to retain customers. read more

Horrible place. The counter people are very nice and the one day availability is great. Everything else is awful. Over priced. They either lose your clothes or ruin them. For every 5 shirts you bring in they destroy 2 collars. Beyond being wearable. Also they don't have a price chart. When you actually find one you realize you've been over charged on the overpriced dry cleaning. Try talking to the district with a compliant. She won't return your calls. Awful. Manager Kerri Ward puts her heart and soul into delivering the best possible result for the customer and her team (e.g. Susan, Amy and everyone else) have exactly the same mindset. It is a pleasure to do business with Dependable Hingham location; I rely on them heavily since I travel so much, they deliver every single week and they are the nicest people. The staff at the Hingham store are always friendly and efficient. They go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your cleaning. I had an order misplaced once and they could not have been more professional and helpful and of course found my missing items. I have never had a bad experience. read more
