Oki this review is not going to be pretty.. I had high hopes for this Star Alliance at Tom Bradley International. Well, it was a lounge meant for Star Alliance First, Business and Gold members. So it should be at least presentable and premium, right? Negative. So let's dive into the food selection.. FOOD 2/5 Like I mentioned in one of my other reviews, one should not pig out in an airport lounge. Still a respectable lounge should offer a decent selection of food. The Noodle Bar offered in this lounge was a joke. Members are to make their own soup noodles with the ingredients and condiments laid on the counter. It was messy to say the least. I was not sure what to do since the ANA lounge at Narita and Haneda have Noodle Bar, the difference is a staff at each of the lounge would make the soup noodle. One would place an order and receive a buzzer, collect the noodle order when it is ready. I had the impression the Star Alliance lounge should be better. Not at all. So members made a mess at the counter and when I was there, I was wondering where was the protein, vegetables, etc? Only noodles, different broth and condiments were available. So I waited next to a fellow member, clearly she knew what she was doing. We were just standing around, when a staff was tidying the area meant for the meat and veggies. Another member came, the staff told him there would be a wait for another 10 mins for the items to be ready. I was like seriously? Why did she not tell us when we girls were standing around and waiting for a while? In the end, I walked to another section, dropped a few pieces of western chicken dish into the bowl of asian broth. It sounded gross, I know. There was also a lack of pastries. We don't need fancy pastries, just a few small pieces of cakes. Nope, not here. I do like the selection of tea here tho. Hence, I gave 2 points here. AMBIANCE 2/5 It was hard to work in this lounge. Some members clearly did not know how to behave, talked and laughed loudly. Granted, this is no fault of the lounge. SERVICE 4/5 Staff at the entrance was very welcoming, polite and generally wonderful. Service staff kept coming to my seat and wanting to clear my tea, to the point it was disrupting to whatever I was doing. Not sure if it was a good thing when service staff was too enthusiastic in clearly everything. Note: the lounge was located on the 6th floor. One needs to take the elevator (between two escalators) up to the lounge. To the Star Alliance Lounge LAX, do take a page from how ANA (a member of Star Alliance) operates their Noodle Bar. Silver Kris by Singapore Airlines (also a member of Star Alliance) at Incheon is a lot smaller but the selection of the food is way better there. Just to state 2 examples. read more

The Star Alliance Lounge was okay. I thought they'd have more options, but nonetheless, it was enough! They had a noodle bar which is great but it was pretty messy and every time I went back, it was only lightly maintained and items were replenished only a bit at a time. Option or ride or wheat noodles (thin or thick, respectively). There were onions, carrots, chicken and some seasonings. You can choose either chicken or vegetable broth. They also had tomato bisque soup available. That was actually the more delicious option! In terms of food, there were some mini sandwiches, rotisserie chicken wrap, pretzels, chips, a few dessert options, and beverage bars all over spread throughout the lounge. If you drink alcohol, plenty of options! There's no scarcity. I felt like there were more beverage and alcohol choices available within feet of each other! Even a make your own Bloody Mary bar. I was there during the evening waiting for my flight via Philippine Airlines and was quite surprised at how busy it was. A bit challenging to find indoor seating for three people but we managed within a few minutes to find a good spot overlooking the airport. There were showers available but be sure to get pager because the wait was about 20-25 min and you'll want to plan ahead in case of wait time! Next time I will take advantage of it! We were flying with Air Tahiti in business so we got access to this lounge. It's located on the sixth floor, which you have to take an escalator or an elevator from the food court area. Staffs at check-in were friendly and plates were cleared timely. There are many food options. Nothing stood out, but that is pretty typical for airport lounges in the US. There is a noodle bar which they offered thin rice noodles or wheat noodles. I tried the wheat noodles and it was overcooked. The broth offered was chicken and vegetable. I tried the chicken and it taste like American chicken noodle soup. For the add ins, there were herbs, minced chicken, red onions, shredded carrots, and kimchi. This lounge is spacious, and it has an outdoor patio, which is also spacious with several outdoor fire places. The view of the runway is slightly limited. There were a lot of beer options as well as wine. read more

It's my first time at this lounge and it was on Valentine's Day. There was a cart going around with desserts. Love that touch for the holiday. The lounge is clean. Staff (Miyo) is professional and helpful. They offer American breakfast and noodle bar. Also have a variety of drinks and alcohol. Restrooms are inside the lounge. It was crowded when we arrived @ 9:45 pm, so we sat outside; Lots of self-serve beer & wine; Negatives: The food was mediocre at best. The pasta was flavorless, and the Azn noodles were overcooked. The only protein available was bland chicken; The place is so big, its hard to keep clean. The outside tables were filthy, there was water all over the counters in the restroom, and the trash can was full; SAL is bigger & nicer vs the Amex lounge in TBIT, but has too many downsides for me to give more than 3 Stars. read more

Overall: 3 stars This award winning lounge was one that did not excite in my years of lounge hopping. The highlights of the lounge include the sky deck which overlooks the bright and vibrant international terminal. There is a service desk specifically for EVA which would be helpful during irrops. Further, the food covers a large diversity from western wraps and greens to an Asian noodle bar. Where it falls short for me is that the lounge is very very crowded to the point where people almost have trouble finding a seat. This is partly due to the lounge being a bit small, and is of course the lounge for all of Star Alliance default. This is a great airport lounge with good food and great staff! I prefer this lounge over the United Lounge and even United's Polaris lounge. There is an area where you can look over the airport and there is a quieter area which is on the insde. There is a good selection of food that always looks good and fresh. In the morning, they have a bloody Mary Bar. The staff is very welcoming and helpful as they clear dishes. read more

At Lufthansa's ticket counter they told us it would cost us $70 per person but by the time we got to the lounge it had increased to $80 within minutes and when we told the host she said it is what it is! It's a great lounge to enjoy a drink and the outdoor rooftop view! They offer a wide variety of hot and cold food options. The noodle bar is a very nice touch where you may make custom bowls of vegan and gluten free bundles of goodness. This was my second or third visit, however I recall they initially had a wonderful stir fry tofu dish that I enjoyed very much. Upon my subsequent visits however, the dish was no longer available. And there were no equivalent vegan replacement dish. Star Alliance, if your reading this, please consider expanding your plant based options or at least bringing that delicious tofu dish back! I've stayed at airport lounges all over the world but this is, by far, my favorite. The views aren't outstanding from the outer part of the lounge. Seeking is very clean and comfortable. A welcome treat for the start of a long travel. This lounge is super stocked with food and beverage. All the food items were fresh and the area kept immaculately clean. The staff are trying really hard to please the travelers. Thanks to the management of this location my traveling companion and I had a nice and comfortable time before our flight. read more

It's located on the second floor of the Bradley terminal. Whenever I'm flying internationally out of LAX, I utilize this lounge. When I fly business class, access is included in the ticket purchase with the airlines I have flown with. However, I know that they now also offer those who are not flying business class the ability to utilize lounge service at a nominal charge. This has brought down the level of clientele. I've seen individuals stuffing their backpacks with food. Staff at the entrance scan my airline ticket. Everything in the lounge has already been paid for in the price of the ticket, so it's all you can eat food and drink, prior to boarding. It's a nice space. There are even a couple private rooms near the front. There is also seating outdoors. They have the fire pits on at night. Food is centrally located, buffet style. There's a ramen station in the back corner. There are bottles of wine and coffee machines in two separate locations. Staff come by periodically to clear off tables of empty plates and cups. Complimentary WiFi access. Multiple cellphone charging outlets throughout the lounge. I've never used them, but they also have showers. read more

I've been in the Star Alliance Lounge a few times over the years, flying both Asiana and, more recently, ITA Airways. It's a solid lounge, which is to say, it's much better than not having a lounge. The place is often busy, and my husband and I found ourselves with little choice of seating on our way out of Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon. We ended up at two high seats near the buffet, not the most comfortable perch, but again, better than jockeying for space at a gate. Food and drink selection is decent, nothing I'd seek out outside of an airport, but I like the noodle bar, where you can make your own bowl of pho. Plenty of alcohol available, including a few wines you can pour yourself at your leisure. There's nothing especially impressive about the Star Alliance Lounge, but it's worth sitting down for half an hour if your flight comes with lounge access. Just be prepared to wait if you want a desirable seat. read more

I can't believe I have not reviewed this place after coming here for years. Located in the 6th Floor in the Tom Bradley Terminal, I can confidently say this is one of the worse lounges I have been to in terms of food. The quantity, quality and variety are just not there compared to other lounges I have been to in Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia and other airports. Its also extremely packed so you'll have to get lucky if you have a large party. Your best bet is the outside patio. However, I do want to say that the workers are extremely friendly and always cleaning up the tables as they clear up. Also, never had a problem getting my drinks in a timely manner at the bar. read more

The lounge can get a bit hectic around 10am, but mostly quiet. Breakfast items: sausage, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs,bacon, muffins, croissants(have to be warmed up). The noodle bar was hyped up and honestly not that great. It was ok. I would rather use the Shin Ramyun packet with the chicken broth offered because it was quite bland. Selection of milk, cranberry, orange juice. Soda fountain. They had a good selection of white wines The confusing part: it's not like ikea where you can leave your dirty dishes somewhere. You basically leave your dishes on the table and someone will come get them. It felt so odd but that's how it was. The showers: clean and kempt. A toothbrush with a pack of toothpaste given. One small hand towel and one body towel. It was not busy at all and I would say underutilized by the lounge users. Overall the ambiance is good, I'd rather wait here for my flight than at the gate. But the food definitely was not great and I wouldn't depend on the food. read more

Nice and less people this time but same foods. Spacious inside and outside on the balcony over look the international LAX shopping strip. The place is big and plenty of different sections (chill & relax on comfy single lounge chairs or couches or tables at; dining section, bar section, napping section, and working section. The foods are just okey and the drinks are much better with couple self serve sections and a full bar. Staff are nice and friendly and constantly on the move to clean up tables and filled up drinks or foods. We were flying Singapore Airlines out of LAX and this was the only Star Alliance lounge option in the terminal (aside from Centurion or Sapphire), so we decided to give it a try. Overall, it's nothing special. The food wasn't bad, but definitely not great -- just average. It was also pretty crowded, and we had to wait a bit before finding seats. In hindsight, we probably should've just gone to the Amex Centurion Lounge instead. This lounge works in a pinch, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. read more

I visited at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning, and it was pretty quiet. IMO, this is the standard of how lounges should be in the U.S. since many lounges internationally are already like this. This is a proper lounge that I would expect with open floor plan, ample seating, large spread of food options, including a noodle bar to make your own chicken noodle soup or pho. Bathrooms were clean and appropriately sized for the size of the lounge since too many normal U.S. lounges have dated, dirty, and small bathrooms no matter how big the lounge is. read more

So when you have an opportunity to be entertained by a bartender who makes intriguing drinks, you hit the jackpot on your travel experience! Especially when you are traveling on Halloween and the bartender is Elvis! Thanks for all the great drinks and laughter. Plus the club offered self serve drinks! Today they had a Bloody Mary bar with bacon and all. Plus you can get your usual hard alcohol and wine! If alcohol is not your jive, you can grab some juice or soft drinks. The club also features a buffet of food with salad, sandwiches, hot entrees and desserts. A good variety of food is offered. They also have a soup bar: Asian inspired!! A wide range of seating is offered. The club does get busy as it's a star alliance club thus multiple airlines are using it. There is nice seating outside with fire pits and beer fridges. First time in this lounge. I figured I would try the noodle bar that they have, but I was disappointed with it. The noodles and broth had no flavor and was really bland, even after adding sriracha. My daughter and I wandered over to the international terminal to kill some time before our Haneda flight left. It was not crowded at all and we enjoyed hanging out on the terrace. Depends on the day/time you are here. The flights to Asia seem to leave at night. None of the passengers know how to control their kids... The parents are immune to their screaming and running around. Bring your headphone to tune them out. Just know after 9pm it turns into a Chucky E. Cheese. There is no point to fly Business Class....this place is a bus terminal. I feel bad for the staff having to clean and service this place. Located on the 6th floor in the Tom Bradley terminal at LAX, this lounge is lined with airlines such as ANA and Singapore Airlines. Got access with my premium economy seat with ANA. Nice way to wait for your flight. Wine, beer, and soft drinks available complimentary with self service and they had some light bites. It being Chinese new year, there were some red lanterns throughout. Plenty of comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors throughout. Food was pretty good - sandwiches, salads. They had a chicken with herb oil and rice and a noodle bar. Noodle bar was ok as rice noodles were a little under but broths restocked often. This lounge was available for business class passengers traveling on All Nippon Airways. Located on the 6th floor in the Bradley Terminal. Food - meh, the noodle bar served rice or wheat noodles, and you can add different broths (vegetarian, chicken pho, mushroom or French onion). The broth was pretty bland. The good is it's quiet, well air conditioned and able to handle lots of guests as it is a lounge shared by all airlines from the Star alliance. There is plenty of alcohol available. The downside is food is quite limited. I went back to the terminal shops for a burger and returned to the lounge to hang out for our Singapore Airlines flight. read more

Very much improved! This is my first time flying internationally through LAX in about a year. The Star Alliance lounge has really improved its food. There's now a small ramen bar, and the outside patio occasionally has a barbecue. There was a brief window of delicious smelling and looking burgers--I'd just eaten so I didn't try them. read more

I visited the lounge on a relatively quiet Saturday evening ($80 for the unwashed masses like me) and liked it. Ambience is great, balcony majestic, place is clean, service great, seats were available on the said balcony. There was a short line at the entrance, but I was handled quickly. The food selection is indeed limited, then the airlines feed us onboard, so it is not that important to me. Alcohol selection was decent (again, not a big deal for me). For LAX, really nice large lounge. Great bar with a large indoor balcony area over overlooking the terminal, plus an outdoor deck with fire pits and heaters overlooking the runway is a nice touch. Food options are what you expect of typical lounges, nothing to really rave about. However, we did enjoy the make your own pho bar a lot better than their western buffet option. I never knew that there is a star alliance lounge as this is the first one I have ever come across. It is on the 6th floor of the Tom Bradley international terminal of LAX airport. It is beautiful and cozy, with outdoor and indoor seating area. I didn't try any food as I am still full from a big lunch, and don't want to eat too much before a long flight to Australia. The receptionist was very pleasant and told me there are 11 Star Alliance lounges in the world, so I will make sure I look for one next time when I travel. read more
