It's been awhile since I've used this lounge because for the past few years I've used the Flagship Lounge and Qantas First Lounge. Many many years ago this used to be the Flagship Lounge and the current FSL was the Admirals Club but they switched it as more flights offer Flagship and they needed the space. It was a bit crowded today but I managed to find a seat. Had some yogurt (limited gluten free options) and then headed to the Centurion Lounge because my flight was leaving out of Tom Bradley. Another solid visit to this Admiral Club before heading off to Napa for a wedding and my girls birthday! The food here is always very fresh - and that is much appreciated. They keep a close eye on the rotation. The service was friendly and professional, with someone coming by after 30 minutes to clear our plates. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was super lovely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very nice Admiral's Lounge in terminal 4 of LAX. I was impressed walking in and seeing how clean and organized it was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The nice touch was the made to order guacamole station at the end of the bar tonight. So fresh! It was a Mastercard promotion and it was very nice. Manuel the bartender was very personable and fast. I felt welcome the minute I walked up to the bar. The Chardonnay is complimentary and it was very nice. I decided to purchase a Sauvignon blanc as it was not on the club menu. It was dry and crisp. The snacks are very good, the cauliflower rice was delicious. I also appreciated the variety of cheeses and flat bread. I went up to the Admirals Club at LAX on a Sunday afternoon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was crowded, which is pretty normal for that time and that airport, but even with the crowd it was still a nice place to be.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had refreshments out, the food and drink options were decent, and the staff were kind and professional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It gave me a place to sit, relax a bit, and get ready for the flight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No complaints from me on this visit. I am giving the Admirals Club at LAX 4 stars. read more

I'm less impressed with this location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's small, although well appointed and comfortable for domestic flights.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told the restrooms are in the main airport - no club restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Frankly, the non-public restrooms (generally cleaner and less crowded) are part of the draw to membership.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food this morning was decent - omelets and chicken sausage. Only one container (small) of regular coffee which continually ran out and was not promptly replaced. If this lounge had been my initial intro to Admiral's Club membership, I would not have paid to join. American Airlines has better, bigger and more relaxing options at just about any other airport. So many people filling their plates like there won't be any left after them. Geez. Have some decorum. The food quality is getting better. The first floor check in are pleasant, helpful and professional. The second floor check in desk people are not. Even though you have already checked in, often you are asked to re-check in. For what purpose? Then the ladies are often chit chatting and being very slow during that process. I have heard more complaints by them about working for American than I care to as a paying customer. Do they think they are at home? Unprofessional. The service in the lounge itself was great. Constantly working, picking up dishes, refilling food and serving drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nice. Relatively quiet, calm, and a welcomed respite from a non-lounge experience. I do find this T4 lounge to be very busy and packed with people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I shudder to think how bad it will be once the T5 Admirals Club closes for 2.5 years until 2028. Saddle up. read more

There are two sides of the Admirals Club; a more comprehensive one for International flights (except Mexico), and the other for domestic and Mexico. This experience was in the smaller less comprehensive lounge. This was my fourth visit to this lounge over the past year, and it's usually pretty good. The check in staff member was friendly, professional, and provided a walking time estimate to my gate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lounge was clean, organized, and the furniture remains in great condition. The bathrooms are also in great condition.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As indicated above, this lounge has less food options but does have some categories of alcohol included. Regarding the food today, they had sausage and egg omelets. Both dishes were room temperature at best. The yogurt and bread selection was good, as were the coffee options. Overall, it was a good experience, but the food would have been better if it was at least warm. read more

We spent $500 and upgraded to first class on American Airlines for a domestic flight from LAX, the AA airport agent told us to go to this lounge, but they didn't let us in, what a huge let down and disappointment! Apparently, they only provide service for members and people on international first class flights. read more

It was also surprising to see that larger meal items cost additional dollars versus what you see at other airport lounges where all the food comes included to your membership. I suppose I have been to too many airport lounges. One cannot help but compare and even more, expect a consistent standard, especially if you're on a premium upper cabin ticket. It doesn't seem to matter anymore for American Airlines if you're a frequent flyer or how much you paid. So what I discovered flying internationally on American (after a very long time) actually shocked me, with what they had to offer for a first class ticket. They advertise abundantly about their airport lounges, especially at their hubs of Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Dallas-Fortworth. But what I observed was nothing but recycled hubris. At LAX, you don't get Flagship lounge access unless you're traveling long haul. If not you are directed to the Admirals Club. They should give it another name because all its offerings were meager and unimpressive. All the hot food offerings were generally tasteless, dry and definitely not fresh. The orange peel chicken was rubbery and like the fried rice, from a frozen package. Both soups were watery and without body or flavor. Cold options of southwest bean salad, hummus, were bland and tasted old or from a can. The open bar served cheap options of beer, wine, spirits and champagne. Best part of it all was the made to order guacamole station. That was good. Overall, the experience was a major disappointment. And so was the unfriendly reception staff to the lounge. They made you feel like they were doing you a favor to screen and then let you in. Now you know why the so called upscale lounges of American carriers, will never ever make it to the annual "World's Best" lists. The American Airlines Admirals Club, is an example of why they will never ever come close to competing with the amazing (and stunning) airport lounges of International carriers around the globe. read more

The number of food options, alcohol available, and quality, all things considered, was impressive! Lounge food is lounge food but this was definitely a cut above the rest. Very nice remodeled lounge. Modern and contemporary but comfortable. Lots of electrical outlets. The buffet table had a nice healthy choice of light snacks. The espresso was not too bad. Complimentary cocktails and beers too. read more

Admirals club at the terminal 5 remote terminal!! AHHH!! Typical admirals club fare. Well drinks are on the house, upgraded alcohols they charge. Leave a $5 tip and they'll remember you forever. Normal snacks- cookies, cheese squares, soup of the day. Is it the BEST? No. However, so relieved to find an oasis (aka place with vodka) after being delayed for 2 hours that I'll take whatever I can get. Thanks American!!! read more

Very nice break away from the craziness of LAX. The restaurant was roomy and quiet. The service was scarce though. I would recover with such a large space there would have been more help upstairs in the lounge and bar area. Overall clean bathrooms, clean facility, plenty of room with spaces to relax. After being dropped off at the correct terminal at LAX #5 then walking to 52H as per our ticket we are forced to ride a shuttle to the actual 52H gate. After our crowded shuttle ride we arrive. We proceed to the Admiral's Club and check in. Apparently the club does not allow use if flying 1st class domestically and does not honor American Express Black Centurion card. We literally sat down after checking in just fine and they asked us to leave? I have always said American is my least favorite airlines and they continue to keep their rank with me. read more

If you have access to the Admirals club, I recommend it. This location is quite small, can't comfortably seat more than 20 people, but since it is new, not many people will know about it and you can find a spot. I came to this spot as my flight was delayed and wanted a comfortable place to sit and grab a snack and drink. The drinks were strong and the food selection is not vast but nice. There was fresh fruit, hot soup, trail mix, cheese and crackers. I saw a few individuals using the work spaces to use their laptops or make calls, but most people looked tired and were just waiting for their flights. American has really stepped up its game and dramatically improved its Terminal 4 Club. You'll be impressed with the refresh and new amenities. If you're flying international, first class receives a nice preflight meal which is a special touch if you plan to sleep most of your flight. I do wish their new domestic club was larger for the number of travelers, but perhaps there are plans in the future for expansion. read more
