I came for some gel and edge control so I can look presentable for work tomorrow. Spent $30 on an Uber from work to make it before store closing only to be told I was not welcomed to shop. I always shop at this store, but today will be the last time that. I was there to buy braiding hair and they did not want to honor the price that one of their employees put on the packages. They see me all the time in there and this is how they do me! I had a terrible shopping experience her yesterday with my daughter and it sad that my daughter had to experience racial profiling first hand. My daughter got her allowance and wanted to get to the beauty supply to buy some thing for her reborn doll. while we were getting ready to check out, I asked the cashier if they had any rings because my daughter wanted to get herself a ring. the cashier said that they do have ring but we can not see them because we might steal them. They may have everything you need, but I always dread going here. They have too many workers just standing in the aisles to the point where they are in the way. They don't offer to help, and those that do don't even know where everything is located. Prices are higher than average. And stop following me around! I am not a thief just because I am black. I love this place ,but I'm a product a-holic, so this place can be a mecca. If you know what what you want when you come in good for you but I always come in with a list and leave with maybe ten more things! The staff is sometimes friendly depending on who assists you, but I'm a Vet so it doesn't bother me, but the owner is always avaible if you have any sort of problems. I have been here several times and they are always a slight bit rude but today took the cake. First off it was a few ladies ( black) shopping for wigs the (Asian) lady says to her black employee they not done yet OMG they been here for 2 hours they need to buy something, All while standing next to me never asking me do I need help. Then one of black employees says to me do you need help I'm like yeah I showed her what I wanted and she says okay then another black employee pulls her to the side. Their OLD wigs and half wigs in the back area are PRICED TOO HIGH. They do not price match, and they compare their.prices.to online prices PLUS SHIPPNG COSTS. Trust me, you can SAVE MORE MONEY BY SHOPPING ONLINE at OTHER Retailers such as SAM'S BEAUTY, HAIR SISTERS, ETC. Most of their full cap wigs are OLD,.....Over 6 years old, and they are PRICED TOO HIGH. They false advertise a grand opening and discount on the banneroutside of their store, but it's actually a BAIT AND SWITCH TACTIC!! They do not have a variety of colors, it's like they buy closeouts from elsewhere and resell it in store at a very high price. My sister and I would drive from Yorkville to spend hundreds of dollars at this establishment. One night I drove 1.5 hours to get there at 8:40PM. The place has a lot of options and decent prices on a few hair products compared to what I normally see in other retail stores. The people they hire are not so decent. They basically walk the store and avoid being caught to be asked a question. One woman I had to walk up to her to ask for help after she passed me a few times because I walked the floor for about 45 minutes because I was confused by so many hair options. Another woman was in a rush and told me I do not know what you want you have so many colors in your hair. I said I do not know much about extensions so can you guide me. She gave me two options after I asked her two more times for advice and goes I do not buy hair from here. I asked what hair did she like and she said she ordered online I kindly said thank you to dismiss her. She was no help and quite rude. If I was nasty she probably would have wanted to fight. Hire better people who are willing to work and increase sales. The owners are not that great either. They mostly walk by you and stare to make sure you are not stealing something. This place is downright awful. TRASH. Bucket. Prom Night Dumpster Baby POO! I have been coming to this beauty supply for years and it hurts me to say this but I will never ever come here again. I entered the store (as I usually do) and I decided to get on my snapchat to update my day. One of the workers comes up to me and says no pictures. I said ma'am it's not a picture, it's a video and it's snapchat. Not YouTube or anything like that. Then I proceed to move around the wig section. The worker follows me like a hawk. I ask her, is their a problem? She said no pictures again. I said ma'am. I'm not taking pictures of wigs. I'm talking to my phone on snapchat. Nothing to do with the store. I move around to look at more wigs...once again she is following me like a crook. I ask her again ma'am is there a problem? She said no I just follow you. I said but I don't need any help. If I need help, I will let you know. Then I proceed to take a call from a family member and I notice she is still following me around. I said ma'am your making me nervous. I can't even look at wig because you are being a pest right now. This is uncalled for. Totally uncomfortable and rude at this point. I come in here all the time. Never have I ever been followed like I'm mouse and you are the hawk. I go to the crochet section because obviously I can't buy a wig. I'm still on the phone the manager comes and explains to me they have a no photo or video policy in their store. I said well I'm glad you explained that to me because your worker did not. She has been the worst customer service rep. She doesn't reflect well on the company and she made me feel very weary of ever coming here again. As he is leaving, here SHE is once again coming down the aisle. He said he apologizes for her. She comes and says something to him. As they both are leaving me, she turns not once, but twice to look at me like I stole something. Now this is what I call a Damn shame. Now I'm angry. I said oh how is this okay? She has a real problem and now just like that you lost a customer. This was not only discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen. It was also an awesome invitation for an ass whipping. Although the products are good the customer service is horrible. The workers are very rude and treat the customers as such. They don't listen but rather yell at and insult their customers. There are plenty of places to shop so choose another one. The owner and staff called me names and insulted me. I will never spend a dime of my money there again.
