I truly thought it was ruined. When I was in high school, my mom hand-embroidered a cougar on the back of my letterman jacket. I still remember her sitting at my soccer games, creating the cougar's face one stitch at a time. Years later, after I had outgrown the jacket, I couldn't bear to part with it. I carefully cut the cougar off, and my mom sewed it onto a denim jacket so I could keep wearing it. That jacket is one of my most treasured possessions. I've always joked that if there were a fire and I could only save one thing, it would be that jacket. So when a hand washing caused the embroidery to bleed and lose its brilliance, I was absolutely devastated. I was in tears when I brought it to The Cleanery because I honestly didn't believe it could be restored. A few days later they called to say it was ready. I walked in expecting to be disappointed, but Scott brought out my jacket, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The cougar looked as beautiful as the day my mom finished sewing it. I burst into tears again--this time, happy tears. And I paid less than $22 for this--so reasonable and the best money I've ever spent in my life. Scott was incredibly kind and shared my joy. I also want to thank the magical fairy godmother behind the scenes who worked on my jacket with such extraordinary skill and care. Francis, I have no idea how you did it, but you gave me back something that is truly irreplaceable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This meant the world to both my mom and me. If you have something precious that you think is beyond saving, take it to The Cleanery. They worked a miracle. I'm attaching before-and-after photos so you can see the transformation. I brought a dress in for alterations and the manager, Huyen (sp), was extremely rude and aggressive last Saturday when I dropped it off and raised his voice multiple times in the interaction because I said I don't know about the number of inches. his tone and aggressive body language made me immediately nervous and at that point, I should not have left my dress there. I went to pick it up about six days later and was told the alterations were over $100 even though I was never quoted that price and would not have paid that price. And when I express this to the manager again, he became irate and aggressive, raising his voice and being extremely rude. I pointed out issues with the alteration where the work looked a bit sloppy, and he was unable to cope with my complaints and grabbed the dress rudely and said he was going to take it upstairs and show him my issues and when I said, I didn't have time that I would just pay for it, he became even more upset. During this time another customer walked in and and the manager was respectful to this make customer. As a female, I would not recommend using Marina's any longer as you will receive abusive and unsatisfactory customer service. I don't mind spending the money when it's quality work and you receive a modicum of respect. i was shaking when I walked out and realized I was actually afraid the manager may have physically attacked me had the other customer not walked in.
