I am very disappointed with the quality of your Yahrzeit Memorial Lamps (candles). Instead of lasting 24 hours as expected, they only burn for 18 to 19 hours and produce excessive smoke. When I purchased similar candles in Florida, they burned for nearly 30 hours without smoking. I deeply regret using candles of such poor quality to honor the memory of my deceased parents. read more

What do you WANT for $1.57 for a tall religious candle?! And that WOMAN who comPLAINED that they ONLY burned for 20-22 hours and NOT 24?! Step off, lady! And if you started the burn correctly--light the long wick midway, trim at least half off once started, and keep it OUT of wind for a few minutes and then, THERE you HAVE it! You get what you pay for in most cases, but these $1.57 candles I buy at Walmart are worth at least double--they are reliable. Stop complaining!! I absolutely love these candles. I am a beekeeper and next to my pure beeswax candles (which I sell locally), the wax is clean, pure, and long lasting. I burn the "Peace" scented $5 Dollar Tree candles throughout my house and will continue to do so as long as they are available. I love these candles and won't buy any other kind. This seems odd after reading the Mainstays Candle reviews. I have a report that differs. My 20oz. Apple Pumpkin 1 wick candle burns like an inferno ! I have cut the wick down but that does not stop the flame again. Also it reeks of apple cinnamon. Go figure. My i assume where they are mfgd? It was a gift. read more

We use your yahrzeit candles to honor the memory of beloved family members and they DO NOT STAY LIT FOR THE EXPECTED 24 HOURS!! Using it for such an emotional purpose, we have an expectation that it will perform and it is incredibly upsetting that they do not meet the expectation. It is beyond disconcerting to have to re-light the yahrzeit candles more than 3 times and to have to pour off the melted wax which seems to "drown" the wicks then extinguishes the flame. This should not be okay under any circumstances - it is like losing a loved one, whose flame should burn bright for a day, all over again. If we have a choice going forward, we will use another brand. Many of your reviews speak to a more recreational use but yahrzeit is a serious standard of performance. Maybe we should have thought to read your reviews before purchasing rather than assuming the quality of your product would be really good . Totally disappointing. Eden D. read more

I bought this product at Dollar General. This is the first time ever paying $5.00 for this brand name of Star Candle Co.'s candle. Lavender and Chamomile. I want my money back! Fat chance of that! I am going to call them, too! I also left a message on Face Book! I am that mad about it! I know how to take care of cheap and nice candles. This candle wouldn't even burn more than one whole minute! The wax started to melt, alrighty, then, the light went out on both of the wicks. That was it!!! The wicks were worse than the thinnest of sewing thread! I tried scraping some of the wax away to find more wick and it was just impossible to get either wick to burn! Now I am just stuck with a pretty jar of wax to collect dust. It does come with a lid. The wax was terrible as well. My dollar candles did better than this! And, still do! read more

I purchased Apple cider candle no scent what so ever. Will stick with Yankee candles their scent is always great.

I received a Spruce Pine and Mint candle for Christmas and it was an amazing choice. The soy candle lasts a long time, the scent is effervescent and clean, and the jar is gorgeous and reusable. I will be buying from them in the future read more

I bought the "Mom/Friend" (Blue Lavender Tea scented candle & never have I been so disappointed in a candle purchase. Two of the wicks didn't even make it to half of it & the third one kept filling w/ wax. We kept up w/ pouring it out but eventually it wouldn't stay lit...that was at least at the halfway point. So, while the scent was of high quality the product itself was not. I'd not recommend it to anyone. I sure hope that the "maintenance" is bettering your candles. Thank you. read more

I am quite the candle snob. I cannot have the black soot and super strong smelling ones, you know the kind the popular non soy ones do. Well, i got a Star candle called Sea Salt Breeze, the 3 oz size, to try it out. I thought it smelled nice and it was cheap enough to try it out. I was AMAZED to not see one single speck of soot on the glass. The candle burned for several hours, it burned perfectly even, smelled great, didnt annoy my sinuses and doesnt even look 1/4 burned!! But now I forgot where I bought it from lol. I will check out their website. The best part for me was the NO black soot mess on the glass or the wall in my bathroom, that is amazing!!! read more

I absolutely LOVE these candles. They have a lovely translucent look, so when they are lit (unlike some candles I purchased on Amazon!) they really glow. The flame is strong. They are about $2 each and well worth it. I am concerned, however, that they may no longer be available. OH NO! I get them at my supermarket, Morton-Williams, and they seem to be running out. Their 7 day candles don't burn well at all. Their candles never fully burn down completely, and most of the time, they'll only burn down about 1 or 2 inches and then you can no longer relight them. They use the wrong wicks. read more

These are the worst candles I've ever purchased, and I'm an avid candle user & purchaser. I should've know better and wish I would've checked their site, this site and others before I went ahead & bought them. From the initial lighting, only 1 of the 2 wicks would light, then after the 2nd day the wick wouldn't stay lit for more than 5-6 minutes. Their customer service is shameful. I read reviews from over a year ago that complained about the same things I have, so obviously they don't listen & continue to rip customers off. I'll never buy from them again. read more

These candles burn slow and effectively. The wick burns fast so might be useful to dump a little wax out into another jar. I bought two candles about a month ago, i light them everyday and it's only about a quarter way down. Love the scents!!! read more

Their 24 hour Yahrzeit candle found in most supermarkets before the Jewish holidays does not burn the full 24 hours. It burns around 20 - 21 hours. Way too little wax in the glass jar. Need to add more. These are religious candles and your cheating people who believe in lighting a candle for a full 24 hour day in memory of a loved one. Wick of candle does not stay lit causing candle to go out more often than I care to keep re-lighting. Worst of all, the wick burns out before half of product is used, leaving more than half of the candle unused. Strongly recommend a longer, better quality wick! read more
