I've been coming to this flower shop for years and can honestly say this is one of the best flower shops in Queens. The staff is always very friendly and happy to assist you with your flower needs. The flowers are kept in a huge flower case which I believe is refrigerated making the flowers always fresh and looking wonderfully. I am so glad that I found these guys, especially George who was amazing: attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and expressed general concern for my needs. They also have the most reasonable prices! I had made the mistake of using "another" florist nearby which "ULTIMAtely" paled in comparison with their quality, customer service and price. That "other place" was actually quite smug on both occasions when I had ordered from them, giving umempathetic responses to the whereabouts of a delivery and lacked care of the impact of presentation when they delivered red roses within a bright orange box? Unfortunately, myself and many other people had a close friend/family member pass away on Monday. By Tuesday, I thought it would be a great idea to order a customized flower arrangement that looked like a dart board (since this man had so much love for the game). I started looking online for places in the area that would deliver a piece like this on such short notice and came across this place. I gave them a call and a man named George answered and he was fantastic. Very kind and informative. He gave me realistic deadlines and the prices for everything. He let me know I needed to make the purchase at least 24 hours in advance for a customized piece like this. The next day I called, we made the arrangement and he sent me a receipt right away. I called him again after the purchase to ask if we can do a separate card with everyone's names on it and was happy to do so. People kept donating, and I called him again to ask if he can put more names on the card and once again he was still happy to do so. When I showed up to the service today, the arrangement was even better then expected. I think it even looked better than what it did online. It was absolutely beautiful! All the numbers were in the correct spot, everything was aligned perfectly. It was amazing! Everyone at the service could not stop talking about how fantastic it was! I was talking to some people that are in this business and they said how complicated a piece like this was and was amazed how well it turned out. When my father in law passed last week we arranged all the flowers through the funeral home who used Norther Blvd Florist. We then realized we would like one additional piece, his NYPD badge. Ordered flowers for funeral and when I got to funeral parlor the flowers looked half dead. White flowers were brown; sime smaller flowers were brown and wilted. We were so embarrassed. Spent 81.00 and got a vase of wilted, half dead flowers. Called owner very upset, and he stated that was what we ordered and said they looked fine when he dropped them off a few hours earlier and not willing to try and rectify complaint. Picked up flowers from outside that were 12.99 and went in to pay. Unfortunately they put a minimum on their debit/credit cards of $20.00 . People dont use cash like they use to and they lost my business for good. I hardly use cash and they need to get up with the times. One lily was still green, one was nice, and the third was half blackened! What florist sends half dead flowers to a funeral!? The person on the phone was helpful and they made an effort to get the flowers to the cemetery in time for an early Saturday morning service, so credit for that. I agree with the reiewer further down when he says this place is a bit uppity- they do have a bit of an attitude- esp if you ask more than one question. I called to get prices on something i saw in the window..a guy ansered and I asked ONE question then i asked a second and he said rather abrupty we are too busy come by we were on the phone les than one minute- Bad... I worked in retail for 16 years. Phone calls are just as important as someone in front of you. Lesson here you never know who is on the line could be one of your best customers ever(it has happened to me). Treat your phone callers as if they were your best and most money spending clients even if you never spoked to them people are working in this economy assume everyone is spending even if they are working and cant come in- at least wait more then half a minute before you brush them off. Well I called the florist on 37 ave that had same tree in window and was given prices on several items. No bum rush. I purchased three trees total- 184.50 plus delivery. :) nuff said. Im sure this florsit owner or whoever reads this at the store is says 184.50 so what were doing great. well at least i voiced how i felt. thank you YELP. read more
