We have dropped donation items off at this location several times in the past few years and…read moreappreciate how easy it is, as well as the mission of this business. There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.)

The lower…read morefloor is unstaffed and set up with furniture and some art but is quiet, giving the feel like you aren't supposed to be there. But over in the corner are stairs that lead to the main shop which is larger than anticipated and pretty full without looking crowded. The booths are well-maintained and tidy. This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. There are some large items…read moredisplayed at the front (a baby grand piano and a number of old gas pumps), but otherwise, the shop is arranged in rows of booths. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. And some of the items were well worn, so maybe not quite collectible, but the pricing seemed to reflect the condition. Seems like a decent place to stop if you enjoy browsing through these places. There is typically no reason to review any particular one, as the quality and atmosphere is usually about the same with minor variations, and the quality of merchandise can of course vary from day to day or even by the hour. This one, however, warrants my attention by its sheer terribleness. I could tell before we parked that this Goodwill was on the small side, but hey, size aint everything (well, my girlfriend tells me that anyways). Walking in, there was a distinct difference in atmosphere compared to a typical Goodwill. The majority of the products were stocked on wire shelving units rather than normal aisles with shelves, which struck me as odd. The price tags weren't the standard printed ones. They had a color and a hand-written price, but no barcode. The difference in atmosphere alone isn't really a problem, my complaint is the price and the selection. I mean, Goodwill isn't always the best in regards to matching price with quality. Sometimes you find a nice board game for $.99, sometimes you find one with half the pieces for $5.99, but just about any item can be purchased on a 50% off day for a reasonable price. This Goodwill overpriced everything, and most of it garbage. Their toy selection was minimal; there is no "fill-your-bag" section for small toys, and the few shelves of larger toys were boring and priced too high. There was a well-played-with doll with no collectible value for $4.99. There was a single piece out of some sort of castle playset, useless without the other components, for $1. In the household section, they were trying to sell various Christmas items for over $4 (which might not be unjustified for some items, but these were small, trinkety type decorations that might be worth $.50). I walked around in awe at the awfulness of the Bizarro World Goodwill for a few minutes, and then left, vowing to never again return to the dump that is the Bedford Goodwill.
