Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked bourbon. Found out this bottle is CHECK PRICES ONLINE FIRST!!! I went in looking for a very special bottle of bourbon for my brother-in-law's 50th birthday. I trusted the store to give me a fair price. That trust apparently cost me $399. The bottle? Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked. Afterward, I did what I should have done BEFORE buying it: checked prices online. Turns out I overpaid by at least $220. I understand paying a little extra for convenience. But $220+ extra?! That's not a markup. That's a financial mugging with a receipt. At least wear a mask if you're going to rob me. And somehow the experience got even better. The cashier never asked for my membership number so I could receive my points. I noticed after my card had already been approved and brought it up. The manager's response? Nope. Too late. Apparently my points had a shorter expiration window than my dignity after realizing what I'd just paid. So, to recap: $399 bottle Roughly $220 over market price Zero attempt to make it right No membership points because the cashier didn't ask Manager refused to correct it ‍ Lesson learned: ALWAYS CHECK THE PRICE ONLINE FIRST. AND JUST DON'T SHOP HERE. The cashier was clearly not properly trained, and the manager on duty was inconsiderate and rude. I came in trying to buy a memorable birthday gift.
