I was excited to finally do something for myself but I had a 3pm appointment and I wasn't seen until 4:05pm. I was frustrated because I have a wedding and work so no time to pack. It took them almost 3hrs from the time I walked in to do my nails and toes. They proceeded to make my toes bleed twice and hurt me so I jerked my foot. She laughed it off. There was still a little toe nail polish still on from the last time I did my toes and she just painted over it. When it was time for my nails she rushed it and I just asked for no lotion I had to get out of there. I went home and after an hour a half later my nail smudged on my toes. I was so upset I came back the next day for them to fix it because I wasn't going to have someone pay for it to be fixed. I went in on my hour break of my 12 hour shift and I just wanted the one toe fixed because I needed to eat and I told them that 3 times. She insisted to do all of them. I know they wanted to fix the issue but I didn't have time for that. I just wish they wouldn't overbook. They are overall nice people just overbook them they are scrambling. read more

I went twice, and I wasn't thrilled with the product, price gouging, outcome or the attitude. So I booked an appointment at another place downtown and when I went to go to that appointment, they were closed! So I ended up calling Star Nails and they said to come on over. When you arrive and are told there is a five minute wait. Then wait, only to be brought to a nail station and continue to wait, then get moved to another nail station to wait even longer, this is very frustrating. Then the technician begins your service only to abruptly drop your hand in mid manicure and walk away and go work on another customer; you almost can't believe it - except it's not the first time it's happened! I noticed during many of my visits that the technicians answer phone calls from customers who request appointments. The technician agrees to the appointment time however they never write down the appointment. I can't tell you how many times clients have walked in for their set time appointment only to sit there and wait and wait because the technicians really never schedule times. They promise appointment times just to get customers. Management has recently changed and services are even worse than before. If you are looking for good quality services please go someplace else and do not pay these people for seriously sub-par services. I have been going to Star Nails for many years. I have always been very happy with the resuits. I've gotten the spa pedicure occasionally which is just AMAZING matter who does it. the first time I ever went there, I had a very young girl named Twee who had very little English. She was such a nice girl and I always enjoyed our conversations over my acrylic fill. she introduced me to nail designs and gel polish. I requested her for as long as she had been there. Now I see the owner or his wife who are both very decent and very hardworking people. I will always give a 5 star review of this place. Requested upgraded pedicure. Not only did she not provide the service requested but she did a basic pedi that i could have done better myself. Barely did my heels , cut the toenails crooked, awful job painting. I don't believe she was even licensed. I spoke to the owner on the phone who said nothing to me & asked me to give the phone to the woman. After having to wait another 5-10 minutes someone came to check me out & offered to do it over. Meanwhile I had been there 1-2 hours because the friend I drove got the service I requested. I was not going to make a full day of it& then make her wait. Never go there again. Oh and they told me it was a miscommunication because she didn't speak English. Well if you're going to be working with the public & can't understand their request have it clarified. That's not the customers job to make sure you understand me. I have never in my many years complained & refused to pay what I was charged.. came with my little sister. we called and told them we were 15 minutes away and they said that was fine. we ended up timing it wrong and got there in five minutes . when we were there we're both waiting for almost a half an hour and there were walks in that got seated before the two of us. they kept telling us five minutes only for it to be five minutes of them wasting my patience. she spent way to long filing down my nails and she MADE OUR CUTICLES BLEED, from the drill and they did not say sorry. on the tv, there was inappropriate stuff that children should not be watching. and it is just not relaxing for a salon. when i left her three dollars for a tip she rolled her eyes and slammed the cash register door, made me feel uncomfortable. they need to learn to not be so aggressive because now my sister has cuts on her nails. will never ever be coming back they did not deserve a tip read more

Although the massage part of the pedicure was great and I felt relaxed. My feet weren't smooth after. Not the worst pedicure- I'd give it a C The manicure however was horrible. Not only was the woman rude- but pushy. She wanted me to get the shellac. Which I didn't want. She was mad that I didn't want it and rushed through the manicure. No massage, horrible filing. Really disappointed in the service and quality of work. Went in for a dip manicure and got a man. When he wasn't texting on his phone he was being super harsh with my hands. To the point that he made my cuticle bleed and I had to tell him to stop. The end result is par. Nothing special and not worth the 40 dollars. They don't even soak your nails long enough to remove prior polish. I saw women scraping it off which weakens the nail. I definitely won't be back and refused to leave a tip. read more

Started out great! The mask on my mail tech was on properly, and he was seemingly quick but thorough. Massage was nice, i get a manicure/pedicure once a year, I treat myself for my birthday. I never had such attention to my calves and that was relaxing. I thanked him for making me "not embarrassed of my feet" and his response was that I didn't have too many calluses and my feet were fine...that was shocking to me and I was convinced my feet were soft. But they weren't! He just left a lot of callus on and went through the motions of bugging my natural mail beds real quick, not producing a smooth mail bed on any of my nails. He just "went through the motions" and wasn't efficient. The drying station had mail dust from a previous client, and my clean hands were stuck on it for 20 minutes. I don't think I'll go back, the only thing I'm happy with is the color I chose for polish and the shape of the nails. I could have easily done this myself and saved $67. I was a "quick buck" to them, but to me, this was my birthday present to myself and I'm disappointed. read more

Just got my nails done yesterday, 1.I requested gel dip. She started to put gel tips on without asking. 2. I attached a picture of where she got a little carried away with true electric filer. 3. When I paid, I offered to go to my car to get a cash tip, and she asked if I could pay for all of it in cash. 4. No lotion put on my hands at all, I walked out with dry cuticles. Yesterday I got my nails done and they turned out beautifully. I later chipped my thumb nail (dip manicure) at work, and went in this morning to have it repaired. I'm not quite sure why all the negative reviews! It's like every typical nail place. Lots of workers, fast work, boom, done. I was assigned a guy to give me a pedicure and it was one of the best. I had a massage chair for my back and sauce a great massage on my leg and feet! He kept asking if the water was the right temperature and if I was enjoying it. I thought a for customer service! He was very detail oriented. Yes the regular chit chatter in Vietnamese (you never know if they're talking about you) but hey your paying for the services so let them talk! I won't go back. I found myself here two or three times out of desperation but seriously, not diggin' it! I worry about hygiene. I recently saw them pass people in and out of the foot basins and I never saw bleach or any cleaning product used. A simple rinse does not prevent fungus. my nails turned out okay, and the guy who i think was running the place was very nice. however, the experience of getting my acrylics filled was really painful because they really don't pay attention to whether or not they are hurting you. my cuticles are all torn up and a few of them were bleeding, and even two days later they are still kind of hurting. my friend's simple design looked like a blob and her nails turned out really thick. they also didn't believe that my 10 year old sister was under 12, and only ended up giving us a partial discount. she does look a lot older than she is tho so that is kind of understandable haha. i'm giving this place two stars instead of one tho because i do really like the look of my nail design, although it's kind of messed up because of how jagged my cuticles look. read more
