I went to this Star Nails for a pedicure. I'm a guy with a couple of big toenails that are hard for me to trim. The nail tech messed it up. Cut into the flesh. Then used a dremel tool... except she skinned the cuticle on the side of the toe. It was infected by the next day. One urgent care visit later, to relieve the blood building behind the damaged toe, one week of prescription antibiotic, still applying prescription antibiotic ointment. and a visit to the podiatrist to review and further repair the damage. Got my kids nails done painted on some "clouds" not even close extra charge which is fine but didn't look even close to photo that was shown. Other kid got nails they charged extra for black French and a line of glitter but in even. Nails are THICK! Nails are uneven and they rush you. i am sadly, very disappointed in the visit i had. i went to this salon with one of my friends. her nail tech kept saying she needed to trim her cuticles, only to find out it costed $15 to do something that took 1 minute! we were not aware it costed anything prior. a solid acrylic power color costed $75 in total (without tip) which is insane! i felt very cheated on the price and when i called to understand how it costed so much, they yelled at me like i was a child. i would save your money and time, look into a different salon read more

Terrible. Do not go!! I have been going to star nails for years and they have completely changed their quality. They rush through doing your nails and if you ask them to please fix the shape they will file it down shorter but not actually fix the shape. If you are in the middle of getting your nails done and someone walks in for a walk in they will rush your nails and end up hurting you. They use dirty tools and caused a nasty skin infection for me. My nail bed is literally green. This is after a week of getting my nails done and my cuticles have turned green where they cut my skin open with the nasty dirty tool. Whenever they used the dirty tools to do my cuticles they cut my skin open in multiple places to where it burned like fire whenever I washed my hands for THREE DAYS. I am so incredibly disappointed with my experience. I've been here a few times but the last two were the worst. 2 weeks ago I got a delux pedi (great job, great experience) and gel mani by 2 different people. The person that did my nails, rushed me through it, was aggressive with my nails, inconsistent with the polish, and the edges of several of my nails were abrasive and I had to buff them out. When I came in, I let them know that I wanted a small design on one nail on each hand, I let her know when she came over to do my nails, she was not happy when I reminded her towards the end of the manicure and said she couldn't do it. Why wouldn't she say that in the beginning?? I was dumbfounded and just looked at her not knowing what to say, she eventually called someone over, who was so sweet and she did the design. Now on to yesterday. Holy smokes was I furious when I left. This time, I just wanted the gel mani. I showed them my nails and said that I wanted the exact same thing, same colors, same design. The nail tech came and got me, asked what I wanted and I told her that I just want exactly what's on my nails now. Same colors, same design. The person doing my nails was older and I think she had a hard time seeing. She filed my nails so bad and couldn't figure out what shape I wanted even though they were already in that shape, they just needed a cleanup. So I ended up with my nails way too short and not only still the wrong shape but so many were incredibly crooked to the point of no fixing. She forgot several times how I wanted my nails. At one point I told her that I wanted one hand a certain color and only one nail on that hand a different color, she couldn't remember so I had to tell her each nail by each nail that they are all the same color. My nails are so bad this time, there are lumps where something got under the polish on a couple nails, the polish is gooped on in places, and the clear coat did not make it over all the polish. And it was so bad at the end that I told her I didn't want the design anymore. Now for the part that's absolutely inexcusable. They allowed someone to approach me, try to give me a rose (one hand was in the UV and one hand was being painted), he ended up setting it down next to me, and set down a card for me to read to solicit money from me. I told him, sorry I'm in the middle of something and shook my head no. Well, not only did he not go away but then the nail tech said to me, "How much money are you going to give him?" Excuse me???? I was incredibly upset after that and wanted to leave. And to top it all off, the person at the register did not want to apply the coupon they had sent me. I don't know what happened to this place, I used to like it. But now I won't be coming back. Such a shame. read more

I have been here several times and have been happy with the services. However, this week, I went in for dip nails with tips, which were priced at $45. The whole service took 30 minutes, which is fine because I had to be somewhere. But when I went to pay, there was an additional $15 charge for a manicure as well. I asked about this because I didn't get a manicure. She said that she did one because she took the cuticle scissors and trimmed them for all of 10 seconds. I did not ask for this additional service and was not told she was performing a service that costs an additional $15 dollars. I will not be back. read more

Visiting from out of town and my niece tried out this place with a friend ,her nails looked fabulous. I was in major need of a pedi and chose the bare luxury package . Going online was easy to see services and then booking was even easier. Was greeted by a friendly team member , who needed up performing my service. My feet feel great and the service was fabulous. My nieces polish a week later still looks amazing and it was just regular polish. This was after a week of gymnastics practice and swim/diving meets. I have been looking for a new nail salon because the one I usually go to has been getting very hard to get into with long waits and not respecting booked appointments. Star nails has extremely high reviews on google but much lower on yelp. My experience was average but I was able to get in quickly. I do not usually get manicures or nail service on my hands. My usual is just a regular paint pedicure. Star has a very large number of chairs, including some cute kid-sized chairs, which is nice if you want to go with someone and sit together (I like to go with my daughters). I booked online but arrived early so had no trouble getting a chair. The first major bummer was the selection of regular polish. The selection was terrible. They hardly had any pinks or reds, and very few trendy colors like whites, blues, greens, etc. I was very disappointed and ended up picking a toe color that I didn't like at all but it was the best I could do. Their rush hour pedicure is comparable in price to what I'm used to for an entry-level pedicure. The service, however, was less than I'm used to. The scrubbing/exfoliating time was minimal. I got a sugar scrub on both legs, but the lotion was applied at the same time as the sugar scrub on one leg, so I got no lotion at all on one leg and lotion applied along with the sugar scrub on the other. Very weird. Minimal foot scrubbing, and no hot towel (which is listed on the price details on the website and on the laminated price sheet). They did try to upsell a couple of times but were clear about the pricing on what they were offering, so I appreciated the honesty (no sticker shock when you say yes to something and find out later that it wasn't free). Nail clipping was good but the side trimming went too deep and I ended up with a sore toe. Polish looks good but the toe separators weren't straight so I got a small smudge when I was moved to the manicure tables. I asked for it to be fixed and they applied some more topcoat, which looked ok and served the purpose but it would have been nice for them to take more care in the repair. I did dip for my manicure. I didn't pay for the "manicure", just the dip, and I for sure didn't get any extras. I almost always get cuticle prep before any nail service and got none. Because of the lack of cuticle prep, the base of my dip is a little rough and shaggy. The finish is good with no clumpy spots, but I was pretty bummed that I got no cuticle prep. I don't expect the nails to last long with the rough cuticle line. Overall the stated pricing was clearly spelled out and pretty reasonable ($35 for super basic pedicure that is pretty much just file and polish and $40 for dip with no manicure at all) but compared with the service I get at other places it was very bare-bones. read more

BEWARE when checking out! I presented a coupon, and they did not include the discount from the coupon on my bill. Then when I was selecting the tip, I chose 15% but noticed that the dollar amount was MORE than 15% of my total bill. I had already clicked on 15% when I noticed, so I asked if I could go back and re-do my tip. The girl acted like she didn't understand English, so I asked again if I could re-do my tip and she refused to let me go back. They do a decent job on my nails, and I like that you can book online (although the person you book with is rarely actually available so they just give you someone else). I can't expect too much from a cheap nail place, but they at least should't scam you with incorrect tip amounts!! Bella did an excellent job of helping me when I had torn my thumbnail below the quick on both sides. She is very meticulous and thorough. My nails looked beautiful and you could not tell that my thumb had a problem. I returned to Star Nails and Spa and asked Bella to my pedicure. Bella found a bit of ingrown toenail and took care of that. And a very good job on the nail polishing and spa treatment of feet and legs. THE BOTTOM OF MY FEET ARE STILL HURTING FROM 3 DAYS AGO. Something is not right with this place. (Side note: I get a pedicure every month so I know I don't have sensitive feet) Don't go there. I'm not a picky person either when it comes to my nails. Terrible twice now. I like to try places twice so I can form a better opinion and give them a second try. First time I was there was about two months ago. I had a good dip and a bad pedicure. My toe nails weren't fully covered with polish. My toe nails were different shaped. I asked if they could match my dip to my toes. Well, I think I could have done a better job. It was a neon pink to a watermelon pink. Not even close to each other. I didn't like my tech, he smelt like stale cigarettes. Not to mention, the space has a different smell as if a bad inscent. Second time I went, I had a decent pedicure and my WORST dip ever. My tech was literally falling asleep doing my nails. My right hand looks great, left hand looks like hell. All five of my nails are different shaped. She forgot to dip my thumb for a third time. It took me biting my tongue and just wanting to get out of there instead of saying something. When she was putting the "4" coat on, my nails were still wet and she messed three of them up and had to do them over. I feel like I could keep going on about my bad experience this last time. I don't know how that place has stayed open for 10 years. For what I took in during my TWO AND A HALF HOUR appointment was the owner is the only one people make appointments with. So shaping was horrible , neither got what asked for , and paid almost double the price of what was stated . When asked to speak with manager, got some run around about price that made absolutely no sense . However, if they really didn't have the availability, they shouldn't have had an appointment time open. My nails came out mediocre, not at all worth $55. Poorly shaped and the acrylic is lumpy on some fingers. The glue used to put on the tips BURNED. They also aren't sanitary. They didn't change the sanding band before using it on me, didn't see them change or even clean the drill bits before using them on me. They use the same bowl of monomer and acrylic powder for clients which is also gross and unsanitary. The place was dirty.
