Tran did my nails and I'm super picky and must say I'm impressed. I had broken a few of my nails with a gel manicure, but wanted to keep longer nails for the holiday, so I told him to add tips and do what he wanted. I loved the results. I've been going here for several years, the technician Tina used to do my nails and was doing a great job. But I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies and inappropriate things and behaviors. Every time the prices change for the same thing, I've always been getting . Gel mani & pedi,design ,eyebrow wax,and individual lashes. For a total of $190-220.00 depending upon her mood. Not including a very generous tip. Then you wait in between her running the front desk,fixing other technicians, blunders all while you wait for her to do so with little to no apology. Mind you my lashes fall off after 3 days. Then I asked was today a good day 4 everything, I needed she,replied Yes of course. I'm under the assumption I'm going to be fully served. At 6:20 pm Tina,is now say oh,you don't need a pedi, your feet look OK!! Mind you if she didn't have time, say that!! As everyone else is cleaning now she's ready to go. Truth be told she's not that creative no,idea's of her own!! It took almost 45 minutes to do lines and block color. I've had enough!! I had a full set of acrylic nails put on they were very busy woman kept taking breaks going to do somebody else's design nails wanted to do somebody's eyebrows and so forth and had me take a break and come back to finish my nails for 10 minutes then when they were finally finished 7 Days later two of them came off totally and two more were loose I went back to store nails chose them tell them all I did was open a door car door and the entire nail popped off asked if they were going to repair and fix it free of charge I was told they only guarantee their nails for 3 Days mind you I paid $61 and a $10 tip $71 total and they're telling me now that they only guarantee their nails for 3 days I highly highly I suggest you do not go to Star nails terrible terrible terrible read more

So again, Star Nails is close to my house so I decided to go back and give them another chance because they remodeled and it's all nice and shiny. I gave 2 stars this time because, again, the customer service was on point and the pedicure was nice. Even though the tech seemed new. Once again, my nails are some shit! In less than a week, the acrylic is lifting, the gel chipped, and my natural nail isn't filed properly under the the acrylic so it looks sloppy. I didn't even bother asking for them to fix it because of my last experience. For $57 I shouldn't be super gluing my acrylic down so my nails last another week. read more

This was my first time here. Let me start by saying that the salon appearance was acceptable. Stations were neat and organized. The nail technicians all wore spa uniform jackets. So there was a professional atmosphere. I went on a Friday afternoon there were only 4 technicians working and boy were they busy. The lady told me twice " 20 minutes wait" but I was in no rush. When Tina finally got to my nails she was quick and good! I wear short acrylic nails with gel polish. During my service the MD state inspection came in!! But she was still doing a good job! I loved the shape , polish, everything! Well Sunday I look down at my hands and realize that my polish is chipping! I go to the shop and Tina polishes over them! She was nice, but come Tuesday the polish is chipping again. I would say that it was the color, but when I returned I had her paint over the nails with a new color! read more

I had gotten a full set of acrylic nails and yesterday ( only 7 says after having my nails done ) I was just opening the car door and my index nail popped off AND my middle fingernail and my ring fingernail are also loose and about to come off. So I called them and I was told to come in and let them look at them, because I asked him if they were going to fix them free of charge since obviously it was due to a poor job. I decided to find a new spot for dipping powder. My yelp pulls this salon up. I was hesitant as there were only a few reviews. Yet, I had faith. I arrived at Star Nails. There was no wait on a Friday night. My technician was Trent which I recognized from the reviews. Long story short...best pedi and dipping powder in Brentwood. He had great customer service skills. From the look of the other customers that rushed in after I arrived, there was equal satisfaction from the other technicians. I will be coming back. read more

Need to work ok professionalism! My mom rescheduled for a certain time and they said yes, come. She arrives, only for one of them to say she can only get one service. She was getting a mani and pedi. She explained that no one told her that when she rescheduled and that wasn't fair. Tran, the one that was assisting her gave a nonchalant attitude and was not helpful at all. They lost 3 customers! He said my mom was 5 min late and they reserved the right to cancel or whatever. My mother wasn't happy. She ask for a manager and a lady came out that was supposedly in charge. They take black and Latinos money, but treat them and talk about them like dogs. They think because they're the only shop right there, that people will come no matter how they act. Not so. If I can give this store a negative 0 I would. I went with my friend she asked for ombré and they did a bad job because they did not know how to blend the colors. As a nail tech I believe you should know how to do ombre. And they also charged her 90 dollars for ombre nails and they charged her for something she did not like. They're shaping is okay but , nails start lifting after 3-5 days which shouldn't happen and especially for $60-80.

A basic salon. I didn't come in with hopes of any glitz, just good nails. I ask for a geometric design and got some stripes and my cuticle where cut too far down. My color is nice.
