This place is OVERPRICED and charged for every little thing they can possibly think of. I brought my daughter with and for her to get no chip with NO design on her fingers and toes... 70 DOLLARS!! No way to just paint a child's nails.. no manicure, no pedicure, no design... should be 70 DOLLARS!! Then when I brought it up to their attention.. they could knock off 10 dollars. If you go, apparently you need to negotiate the price because they just charge whatever they feel like at that time. Very disappointing. read more

Came here for a pedicure with some friends. We all had appointments and we were greeted and brought to the chairs right away after we picked out our colors. I had a basic pedicure done. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work done. I did notice out of everyone getting pedicures done, I'm the only one that didn't have assistance putting my sandals back on. I have gone her for many years. Moto staff are nice and the place is clean. I always get gel nails. Typically the gel chips and breaks within a week of getting them done. Most times the staff is willing to fix this but the fact that it doesn't last is frustrating, a waste of time, and costs more money then it should. Tommy turned me away from getting a nail fixed when they had been done 24 hours prior. Blamed the break on my nails and although glue has been used previously to fix my nails he stated it wouldn't work. No offer to fix it or alternative given. turned away with broken nails after only having them for one day. Will not be returning. Do NOT recommend. read more

i visited star nails for the last time in december 2024, giving them one last try for my christmas nails. i called to make an appointment beforehand, and got into my appointment relatively quick. the entire process was rushed and they were unnecessarily rough, and i left with red, bleeding, swollen cuticles and nail beds. the nails were all different lengths and shapes, btw i asked for coffin and this is what i got. they also got monomer all over my thumb and didn't even try to clean it off which is in the photo can't believe i paid over 80 dollars for this to be honest. star has gone way down in quality and their techs have gotten so inconsistent. only giving two stars because the nail art turned out okay. read more

Do not get your nails here, incredibly rude. Unprofessional. You can't ask how you want your nails without them getting annoyed no matter how polite you ask. Sean the manager came up to me and directly said your going to soak off your nails. I was shocked and told me him "I had only asked the nail tech if she could file a little more on the side and she stormed off without saying a word." I told him I was pregnant and did not want to argue with anyone cause I could sense that he was confrontational. He said "don't use that pregnant stuff over here." I walked out in tears, I have never been mistreated and humiliated, I felt bullied and gained up on by the manager Sean, who refused to give me the owners name Tommy, until I asked in front of others, so he couldn't talk to me the way he did when we were alone and finally gave me the name. read more

This is the place my wife and daughters like to visit for their nails. They do a great job. Not all the styles are for nails this long. My wife prefers nails that are shorter. I had my nails done (filled) two times. Both times they chipped with in a day. The second time 4 chipped, went back in and they fixed them. A day later three others chipped. The lady who did them both times wasn't very nice, seemed annoyed to be there. The issue was she didn't dry them enough between polishes. Come to find out after asking around, she's known to be a terrible mail tach. Plus the place is packed & their pedicures are done out in front of everyone. Realizing that's due to space, but not a nice experience overall. Also, they try to sell you gel nails vs. acrylic with gel being more expensive. They are the SAME because gel nails looks like actual gel and much harder to apply. Don't fall for the up charge. read more

I've had good experiences at this location , i usually leave happy. But this last time i left so uncomfortable, first it looked like the bowl used to dip my fingers in wasn't properly cleaned once i noticed this i asked to wash my hands. Then when cutting my cuticles my finger started bleeding, and it wouldn't stop due to the size of the cut. I had to pull my hand back at the end of getting my nails done because she tried to brush over my bloody cut with the cuticle serum they use at the end for everyone. Gross. As soon as you make your appointment you are told you must wear a mask and that someone will be taking your temperature, you will also receive a baggy with your nail files that you will take home (you need to pay an extra dollar which I think is strange bc other places give you these for free). You are asked to wash your hands before settling yourself with your tech. The pedi chairs are spaced one apart from each other. They've done a great job making me feel safe and clean! I came in today to get a no chip Mani and regular pedi, and Hannah was my tech. She did a great job taking 45 min on my toes and another hour and 15 for my no chip. Both look really good! I did notice that the toe color was slightly more orange pink than my hands but it's okay, I'm not that picky. Overall great experience. Remember to bring cash for tips! read more

Went to Star nails yesterday to have a cracked nail repaired. The "technician" was very visibly angry that he was assigned to me instead of someone receiving a full service. He threw the deck of colors at me asking me what color I had. Became more frustrated that I didn't know the number (who remembers the number a week later?). Two other technicians even came over to help since he was so upset. Finally found the correct color and the repair took about 5 minutes. I left feeling bad and embarrassed. The technician that did my original dip did a poor job as well. The grow out has a very visible ridge and is lifting away from the nail. It's only been a week. I've been going to Star Nails for almost 9 years. And for years people would always complain about how they are money hungry. I never experienced until today 6/30/23 for my 4pm appointment. I didn't book with anyone specifically like I normally do because this was last minute. I just requested extra time and someone who's great with ingrown toenails. Extra time is an extra 30 minutes, all of their services have to be completed within 30 minutes per their policy. I get calluses on my heals really bad and I've never had any issue with them taking care of my feet during my pedicure service. I strictly go to Star Nails for ALL of my pedicures. I had a hour long pedicure service per my request and still got a rushed job. I soaked for 20 minutes and that left David with exactly 40 minutes to get to me and do my pedicure service. I instructed him to scrub harder on my heals because he was being very gentle, after 2 times if repeating myself, he finally grab another blue disposable scrubber and just scrubbed my heals with NO CALLUSES REMOVER product. Last time I booked a pedicure service I complained about my heals not being completely serviced and they told me I needed to book more time. So this time around I booked extra time, only to receive a rushed job yet again. I told the ladies at the front desk that I would need some sort of discount to compensate the bad service after I did what they manager told me to do last time which was book more time. They go to the manager and he immediately says no and if I want them to fix it I will have to pay for another pedicure. He didn't even look at my feet to see what the issue actually was. After years of giving them my money, today was the last time. It's the summer of 2023 and they are still all about money rather customer satisfaction, loyal customer or not. My mother who's also been going Star Nails the same amount of time stated they have given her rushed pedicures as well. So all the business I sent their way, I will be advising them to not return. People work hard for their money to not even be able to have some type of resolution to their problem in this establishment. And seeing how most of their employees barely and I do mean barely speak English, I will be contacting authorities to see if they are all licensed to perform nail services on customers. Cause if I remember correctly, I was close with someone who worked there and I was informed that most of the employees do not have licenses. All this place care about is MONEY. That's why they ALL walk around with the latest high end designer and Kim and her cousin who still work at Star Nails was able to open the Boba Tea shop next door. F Star Nails seriously! DO NOT recommend anyone to go to this place if you are of color. Cause I promise you; if a palm colored woman was complaining they would've fixed the issue. read more

I wish there was a "zero" star. A few years ago, I tried to get in for a pedi, only to be turned away by the rude guy . . . said to myself, I'll never go back. Today, I felt like giving them another chance. Walked in, was asked what I wanted, asked for a pedicure, and was told in a not so nice voice "don't have time." I walked out, and thought to myself that no one deserves to be spoken to like that . . . walked back in and said (to the same rude guy) "why do you say (on the sign outside) that walk-ins are welcome, when you're always so rude to them?" Needless to say, I'll never return. There are two places in Edwards, Natural Nails and Chippen Nails, that are so nice and welcoming, and if they don't have time, they'll offer to schedule an appointment. I've been coming here for years. Lately though, the work is just not as good. My sister and I went last night for gel fills. Hers is pink which chipped the next morning. And has one nail super soft that looks like it will chip. As does my gray one. Very bubbly. These pictures are 18 hours after we got them done. In addition, when I called to make the appointment I had specifically requested that we be sat together. And the front desk woman said no problem. When we got there, they said they couldn't and if we wanted them done that day we'd have to be split up. They put us on separate sides of the salon, broken up by a wall. I realize this can't be helped at times but then don't say it's not a problem when you specifically request it at the time of booking. First of all let me just say that not all of the workers are the problem.. in my experience. Liam, Kimmie & Nick are the best nail techs hands down. Last Friday I went in for my biweekly fill in. Got no chip gel, matte. This past Friday(just one week later) as I got out of the shower I saw the color lifting. At first I thought it was the nail itself but I picked at it and the color came off completely. I went in and got my nail fixed. Less than 24 hours later... I showered & the SAME THING happened. I did not use any harsh chemicals, or scrubs or any oils. So what's the problem here? Their CHEAP products!! My sister also had a terrible experience there. Just this past Monday she went in without appointment. As they were filing her nails, one of the workers drilled into her finger. The owner (man) watched and DIDNT DO/SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT. No one apologized to my sister. The worker wouldn't let her wash her hands. NOT SANITARY. The worker grabbed a napkin & thought that was gonna fix the bleeding. She wanted to continue to do my sisters nails. My sister asked if she needed to pay and they said no, so she left. When I went in there to get my nail fixed on Saturday, I told the worker who was fixing my nail about what had happened. He called his manager over (woman) & I explained everything. She apologized to me and I said "don't apologize to me, nothing was done or said about it to my sister." She goes "well at least they didn't charge her." LIKE REALLY??? That's NOT the point here. The point is that her thumb was drilled into, nobody cared to do anything about it. The owner saw the whole thing & didn't say a word. & that's what you're concerned about? My sister can easily sue this place. These people do not care about their customers. I've worked in retail before. This is NOT a professional setting. To turn your cheek when a customer has had their thumb drilled into? Oh but it's "okay" because they didn't charge her. NO. That employee should've been fired immediately. This establishment is AWFUL. Do not waste your money. I went yesterday for a no chip fill on acrylics. The NO CHIP polish peeled off after I stepped foot out of the place but I had no time yesterday to have them fix it. I went in this morning at 9am. I showed them the nail that was peeling but told them there was air bubbles underneath all of them. A guy standing at the front asked a tech if he could fix only one of my nails and I stated I wanted all of them fixed since they had air bubbles and would've peeled and he rolled his eyes at me. I regularly see Van for pedicures (highly recommend) and Susie for my nails (also highly recommend).
