Otronicon 2017. It…read moretakes place inside the Orlando Science Center. There is parking right in front, on Princeton Street, in the big parking garage. For 2017, the price to park was $5. The fair brings many technology schools, which set place in the main floor, with their displays, software, students, alumni and faculty. I was able to go into many virtual reality worlds, which is the hot things now, and I can say that the technology is pretty cool. On the floor above, there was a medical application exhibit, for kids who are inclined towards healthcare. And then on the top floor, you find the graphic designers and artists who use electronic medium. On the top floor also, you could find other interactive equipment used by the military. You could fly a helicopter, drive a tank, fly a plane, etc. My favorite, and main reason for going, was the Indie Game Showcase. I love animation, I love video games although I don't play, I love graphics and I love basic human ingenuity. Talking to all these developers and creators was amazing, as well as trying out their games. The bottom floor was part of the permanent exhibit, no technology there. Overall, I liked the expo, although I did not see ground braking technology. It is more like a massive school fair where kids checkout future schools. But it was fun, although I would have given more emphasis to the game developers. My opinion. Oh! Yes, before I forget. He did enjoy the revamped KidsTown, and there were some things he could watch and interact with around the event. I kinda wish we had gotten a sitter just so I could have enjoyed it a lot more but it was still a lot of fun! I'm constantly blown away by the creativity and the genius behind a lot of the showcases from Full Sail University, University of Central Florida, and other colleges and high schools. Gives me hope for the future. Anyway, I've added a few pictures so you can see how much my man-child enjoyed himself! While it's a kid-friendly event, I definitely think I'll wait until he's a little older to bring him back!

The…read moreperformance at IKON Park is smaller than I thought, but at the same time, it had a lot of space for people. The ticket cost was relatively inexpensive for a Saturday afternoon. Parking is easy since there's surface parking as well as the parking building. The upper floors are free to park so we opted for that considering the heat of the day. Tickets originally said 4pm but the show probably started a little after, likely to include the folks trying to get in as there was a small line. There is a small concession stand if you're hungry for snacks. The show itself was amazing. There was plenty of humor involved and the amount of audience inclusion was awesome. Not too much, but just enough to keep you watching. I should add that one of my concerns was a potential splash zone, but there's nowhere to get wet or paint in this. The blue men, the rock band, the show as a whole were superb. I'd totally do this again with a group that hadn't been before.

The show was scheduled for 1:00 but actually went on at 1:15 and went to 2:30. Parts of the show were good with a bit of a wow factor. The guy eating 20 marshmallows and turning it into a sculpture was excellent. However.. Some of it was just not good. There was one skit where they pulled two people on stage and had some telephones and a few props it wasted 10 minutes of the show and was pretty boring. You would think with it being Icon Park and Blue Man having their own building that they would have a pretty spectacular show. Maybe even some magic Or some weird little dude riding around on a scooter through the crowd. I left there thinking of all the things I could make that show better. They did pull one of our friends up on stage and painted him. They did acknowledge my girlfriend's birthday We call her Little Debbie. We all dressed up as Little Debbie characters and pies. They put her name on the big screen and we all wished her happy birthday that was nice. So there was some good and some bad to this show. It's pretty much a one and done. Not something that you would pay to come back and see again. I see now they have buy one get one free tickets. This would be the time to go to see them!! The building that they built is not real big so every seat in the house is pretty good. It's not real loud in there which is nice, the music is great and they do have a keyboard player drummer and guitar player up at the top dressed in neon. Parking is free in the garage on levels 4 through 7. Drinks A regular size coke with a lid was $6 and some change. I think the beers were $14. They do check your purse when you come in and they didn't let us bring any snacks in. There is two bars in a concession stand right when you walk in. I think my favorite part is when they shoot the toilet paper out at the end. And it covers the crowd something about that just makes you smile. Okay on to the next one thing!

Parking is free and and so is the short tram or bus ride to the event. The experience begins on the ride as you're greeted by the bus driver; (Ours was named Splatter and his energy set the mood for the night) and his assistants who may give you a fright as they give you the lore/theme of the houses and their names. The premise of this event changes every year, and after our experience we are excited to see what they cook up next year. In the front yard of the event there are many food trucks to choose from, some with themed menu options, a few shops with an array of goods, and a DJ playing some Halloween classics. This area is a relatively small but we never felt crowded, and we're able to find seats at tables to eat, despite it being Halloween Night where we expected a peak number of visitors. The smaller area also guarantees that you'll have many encounters throughout the night with the scare actors who roam this open space. Screams from guests filled the air sporadically all throughout the night. The houses were extremely impressive. There were 3 free houses included in your ticket and 2 experiences where you pay for an extra ticket. These tickets also work as fast passes to the houses. We found that the lines went by quickly. The houses are not so much houses as they are trails through the wooded area in the event lot which added a lot more to the fear factor than your typical indoor haunted houses. Every scene was filled with props and scares. It was obvious how much effort was put into the designs of the sets. This year's premise to put it simply was an abandoned mall and the houses reflected that. What really made this night for us were the employees. This experience was very interactive and the scare actors all had great attitudes. They were in character but when we had questions about the event they answered us seriously and it showed. We got the impression that they enjoyed their work, and that helped keep spirits high all night

I really didnt walk throughout the venue to see it all. My seat was an orchestra seat with a up close and excellent view of the stage. Once i was seated i noticed the stage curtain and seating was dated the seats a red velvet material. Not much room to move around in the seat but plenty infront for others to pass to reach their seat. The concert and sound was AMAZING! I have loved Anita over 30yrs. I hear there is a new theatre near by. I would not have cared if Bob Carr theatre was missing the roof. I was here to hear the sounds of a legend. The concert was all that and some. It was packed! I met fans who flew in from Denmark and all over for this special night. There was No seat left empty! There were no dust particles flying thru the air, just the beautiful sounds of the band and the sultry voice of Anita! I would do it all over again. Once the concert started i never sat down longer than 15 seconds anyway. If i didnt dance a hole in the floor that night i think Bob Carr is built to withstand anything.

I…read morewas disappointed in sound quality throughout the auditorium - the performers were playing their hearts out and would give anyone that goosebump experience but the sound in the right orchestra section was so muted. In terms of acoustics, I couldn't believe this was a live performance. However, the auditorium is able to seat many people, there is an on-site bar that sells a variety of beverages and sweet snacks/nut blends, and all staff I encountered every step of the way from parking, tickets, bar cashier, to door attendants were kind and efficient. If there is a show/performance I wanted to experience, of course I would return. Note: Alcohol is not permitted in the auditorium.

I was one of the lucky ones who was able to buy the Rocky Horror Picture Show ticket before it sold…read moreout. I went on a Saturday evening and was greeted by the staff, who scanned my ticket and welcomed me in. The entrance had a bar area, where soda, water, and alcoholic drinks were available. Beyond the lobby was a small art gallery where you can buy paintings for a reasonable price. The bathroom was in a different place, but not too far away and clean. Once we were ushered into the theater, it was an old school with regular stadium seats and a small projector for the movie. We were warned that it would be hot inside because of AC issues, and they were not kidding. Many audience members had fans to cool off. There was a preshow explaining the movie, the rules, and how to participate during the movie. The MC, Michael from the Rich Weirdos, and their cast members, will recreate some scenes and interact with the audience during the movie. I must say they did an awesome job, even at the hot theater. The right props were used at the best time, and they interacted with the audience so well. The audience engaged with the movie so well, heckling/riffing almost each line and scene. Foul language was encouraged for the show, and many audience members used them at the appropriate times. The staff were very good in keeping a liberal participation, and the audience was awesome in following the small rules. While the movie was a bit difficult to understand as it was a low budget, the Rich Weirdos and the audience are what made this show awesome. Even though I was nervous about the not so family friendly atmosphere, it was still fun and I wasn't pressured to do anything uncomfortable. After the movie was over, there was a post show costume contest at the end. The staff at Fringe ArtSpace were welcoming and friendly. They helped everyone out, and lots of posters as messages explaining what to expect and reminders that this wasn't family friendly movie/show. The Rich Weirdos did an amazing performance with the props and interactions. My only suggestion is to please offer water in advance before the show as I was sweating a bit inside. For 22 dollars after taxes and fees, this was such a great deal. Not to mention that the Bluwave restaurant downstairs offered a free seadragon vodka drink for all ticket holders as well. I am definitely looking forward to attending another fun show with Fringe ArtSpace and The Rich Weirdos in the near future.

I did not bring my dogs because it was super hot and I had a few stops in this area. I arrived near the end of the event to see if this was something I could share with my dogs. I saw lots of happy owners and pups (some wet.). They had great raffles and fun tents to experience with your pet. Full disclosure I have been a member of Mennello in the past and attended their folk music events. I really like that they have events that empower patrons to participate in art, music and the community. They have another Pet event in Fall 2025.
