I really didnt walk throughout the venue to see it all. My seat was an orchestra seat with a up close and excellent view of the stage. Once i was seated i noticed the stage curtain and seating was dated the seats a red velvet material. Not much room to move around in the seat but plenty infront for others to pass to reach their seat. The concert and sound was AMAZING! I have loved Anita over 30yrs. I hear there is a new theatre near by. I would not have cared if Bob Carr theatre was missing the roof. I was here to hear the sounds of a legend. The concert was all that and some. It was packed! I met fans who flew in from Denmark and all over for this special night. There was No seat left empty! There were no dust particles flying thru the air, just the beautiful sounds of the band and the sultry voice of Anita! I would do it all over again. Once the concert started i never sat down longer than 15 seconds anyway. If i didnt dance a hole in the floor that night i think Bob Carr is built to withstand anything.

In terms of acoustics, I couldn't believe this was a live performance. However, the auditorium is able to seat many people, there is an on-site bar that sells a variety of beverages and sweet snacks/nut blends, and all staff I encountered every step of the way from parking, tickets, bar cashier, to door attendants were kind and efficient. If there is a show/performance I wanted to experience, of course I would return. Note: Alcohol is not permitted in the auditorium.

At no cost, I was surprised by their quality! Quite possibly one of the best student plays I've had the pleasure of seeing. But this review isn't about the play.. it really is about the theatre, isn't it? Well, it's in an old lecture hall, so the seats are large, the rows are comfortable with plenty of leg room. The stage is wide and the lighting, while at times, oddly places, is both sufficient and efficient. The sound quality (acoustics) was quite pleasant as was the atmosphere of the lobby and box office area. The bathrooms, while dated, offered something you don't see in most bathrooms. Ledges on which to place your purse and a hook. No need to place your purse on the nasty floor! Kudos! I was quite pleased with my experience here.

At $20 a person for non-students, it is a good value. The performers are student actors with an occasional professional actor. We saw Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liasons). There is plenty of space between rows so no one has to squeeze by. No food or drink is allowed in the theater. The quality of the acting was very good. If you are looking for an affordable alternative to Bob Carr, you might be pleased.

The cast was really good and I had a great time. I look forward to attending another event there maybe a comedy night next time. I have been a fan of Yuja Wang for many years now and never thought I would have an opportunity to see her perform in person, what an absolute blast! Tickets to the concert started at $105 which is actually reasonable when compared to other events held at Steinmetz Hall, the same seat to another concert I am interested in seeing are $165. If your purchasing tickets through the Dr. Phillips Center website you can save a lot of money especially if you're using a third-party app like StubHub. You can also purchase parking ahead of time at one of the local parking garages with a slight discount if you buy ahead through the site. Doors to the event opened at 6pm, we were pleasantly surprised to find a quintet of musicians performing lovely musical pieces such as Erik Satie's Gymnopedies in the main lobby for the hour leading up to the main performance in the Steinmetz Hall. There are a variety of drinks and snacks you can purchase in the lobby. I ordered a Jack and Coke to enjoy during the show and that ran me about $13.50. It's served in a plastic up with a sippy cup style lid, no straws provided. Once the doors opened to Steinmetz Hall Its pretty self-explanatory on how to find your seat if you've looked at the map ahead of time; however, staff are super friendly and can quickly direct you where to go if required. Steinmetz Hall is absolutely gorgeous; I love the wooden interior and the acoustics in here are just outstanding. Seating is a bit tight but not unbearable. The seat itself is comfy but you're sharing the arm rests with neighboring guests. There is also a cup holder mounted on the back of chairs in front of you but it's difficult to distinguish who get what cup holder because the chairs are not perfectly aligned behind each other on purpose to provide a better view of the stage for all guests. The Orlando Philharmonic choose two amazing pieces to open the show with: Johannes Brahms Hungarian Dances Nos. 5 in G minor and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings. These are two well know pieces that many non-classical listeners might actually know, especially the Adagio for Strings because of its appearance in the movie's Platoon and Elephant Man. Many Young pianists will recognize the Hungarian Dance No. 5 as this piece is taught when advancing to the early advanced level. After a brief 20-minute intermission, we returned to see Yuja Wang perform Samuel Barber's Overture to The School for Scandal, Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, and Samuel Barber's Concert for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 38. Yuja returned to the stage to give three jaw dropping encores; wow, what an awesome show!! I pretty much lucked out because my seat was right in line with the center of the stage and the way they positioned the piano was so that I could see Yuja playing every piece, I couldn't have been happier. This was my first time seeing a concert in the Steinmetz and it won't be the last. It is a little pricy but you have the opportunity to see some of the world's finest musicians in such an intimate setting. I would definitely pay the $100+ price tag to see that show again.

A few friends of ours have been going to classes for a few years and seem to really feel it benefits them. The studio and actors put on a show every year that the past 2 years has been called Play de Luna - a series of one act comedic plays. At a low cost you can go to see some quick one act plays with some developing actors. Some are awesome and some are good, none are bad. The actors and directors work so hard at their craft and it shows. The studio itself is a small space. It's got a few rows of seats for an audience and some bathrooms with a small front lobby where they sell drinks during the shows. Overall, if you're looking for something to do in Oct or Nov - check out their show. It's a great fun weekend thing to do (and only suitable for adults). I can say that based on friend's testimonials it seems to be a great place for acting classes too but I cannot say that from my own experience aside from witnessing them get several jobs over the last year or so since they started taking the classes.
