Starbread Bakery is very much a hit or miss experience for me. The Starbread Senorita Bread itself is the highlight -- buttery, sweet, soft, and genuinely enjoyable. This is what they're known for, and it shows. Fresh and satisfying, definitely worth trying at least once. Unfortunately, the Nutella-filled bread was a letdown. The bread was dry and a bit hard, and the Nutella filling was very skimpy. When you order something with Nutella, you expect more than just a hint of it -- this one didn't deliver. On top of that, there's very little variety overall. The menu is extremely limited, so if you don't love Starbread Senorita Bread, there isn't much else worth exploring. The shop is small and clean, and the lady working there was friendly. But the place was awkwardly silent -- no music, no ambiance, just uncomfortable quiet while you wait. Overall, I'd come back only for the starbread, but I'd skip the filled breads next time. Good potential, just not consistent across the menu.

First time hearing about this place from a Filipina friend who brought a box of señorita bread to our soccer game around the corner. So GOOD! Super soft, fall apart, sweet bread. First time ever hearing about it or eating it so we decided to get our own box on the way out. I would have gave 5 stars, but at 4:30 PM they were completely out of bread and only had one ube malasada that looked like it was sitting all day and strawberry malasadas, so that was extremely disappointing since we don't live near the area. I'm glad we got to try it, now I'll just have to learn to bake my own señorita bread. Such a bummer that they are still technically open for over 2 more hours with hardly anything left.

My husband and kids love this place! We didn't know there was a location closed by and always went to the OC location for them. The señorita bread is always fresh & warm when they give it to you. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the aroma of the fresh bread baking. The service is good & they're always so friendly. There are different flavor bread that you can also get and donuts too! Definitely worth trying! Definitely goes great with a cup of coffee too!

My 1st 2026 stop in one of my fave specialty bakeries, StarBread, in Riverside Ca.. always (i mean - ALWAYS) fresh bread baked daily... this lil bakery puts out the best pastry. The store front staff is minimal and theyre usually fast to get your order out asap. The store front also is not very sizeable but good enough to display the variety of goodies they are excellent in creating. 2026 is off to an awesome start!

I happen to be in the shopping center when I noticed the bakery. It was morning and I really wanted a pick me up. I was also curious. I entered the bakery and took a look around. There was a customer making a large order, who was being attended. The bakery was holiday decorated and there were signs of everything they offered. I saw displays of bread, donuts, an ube filled pastry, and others. I decided to get the ube filled pastry. It was $2. I paid in cash, card transactions are 50 cents. I asked the employee if they had iced coffee and she said all drinks were in the fridge. The ube was delicious, covered in powdered sugar. I enjoyed it! Very unique.

Since moving to San Diego, and finding the location in Chula Vista, we've been a fan of Starbread. Glad that they opened this location in the IE! Always try to stop by and snag a box when visiting the family. The bakery is always inviting with the smell of freshly baked goods, and the señorita bread is always warm. This is a must visit bakery famously known for their señorita bread. It's sweet but not too sweet, soft, and airy making it the perfect snack any time of the day! Not to mention they always come out warm! They also sell other pastries and donuts but if it's your first time, I recommend trying a box of señorita bread!

Hot and fresh. We stopped in and grabbed up 3 dozen of the bread rolls (I already forgot the names lol) they were gone in two days. Storefront was cute and clean. Services were fast and friendly. So glad we found this spot!

I was excited upon learning that a Filipino bakery has opened nearby. Went there early yesterday to try their product. To my dismay the sales person was just so cold to just stare at me entering the store. The warm Filipino Hospitality doesn't exist in that store. Everything is expensive for an ordinary panaderia bread. Sorry, am suppose to promote this Pinoy establishment but it isn't worth a good praise. I'll be contented with my favorite concha, guava cheese Strudel, ensaimadas in Cerritos. read more

Service is less than average and very unorganized ordering system. How did the guy after me who ordered 20 (in person) get his before mine and the people ahead of him ? I used to drive to Anaheim to get these delectable delights, but am so happy they've finally opened in my own town! Its a family business and the owner is super sweet and nice. Fresh senorita bread and malasadas are always a must, but nice to see some different things here, like long-john-esque filled malasadas, which are 3 for $5 like the original malasadas. Great location by the mall and right off the freeway. read more

Very friendly! Inside was clean & simple and baked goods were hot & fresh out of the oven! Had to test a few in the car just to make sure. Then, gobbled a few more to double check. Their Malasadas (if available) are the closest I have ever tried in CA that's almost comparable to Leonard's Bakery in HI. Their Senorita bread is also amazing!!! 3 days later & it's still amazing just popping in the microwave for 10sec. Their service is great, employees are kind and very helpful. Delicious!!! So glad a new bakery opened up in this area the senoritas fresh are soo good. Trust me you think 20 or 30 are a lot but they are not. Heat them up in the microwave for a few seconds the next day. Yum yum. read more

I live nearby and decided to grab a box of malasadas and senorita bread for my office. Huge mistake because my office is in Redlands and now everyone and their mother wants me to bring it in all the time. DELICIOUS. I'd never had the senorita bread and wasn't sure if it would be savory or sweet but I found out it's just all-around amazing. Malasadas bring me joy and these were fantastic. That señorita bread is crack! I can't get enough on my third day in a row - the malasadas plain or the ones with Bavarian cream are so indulgent. Seeing a Starbread box instantly makes me happy happy :) The place is simple and clean inside, I think that's a great thing because a big menu sacrifices quality. I was getting donuts for the office this morning so I walked in at 5:15am. How does a donut shop…read moresmell like cigarettes that early in the morning?? Why doesn't it smell like fresh donuts? These fancy ass donuts have to be a day old. The donuts were starchy and cold. I digress. So I get there and they are blasting middle eastern music playing but the lady at the front was nice so I ordered 2 boxes of donuts for the office and two iced coffees. She said "would you like me to add some premium donuts for you?" And I said for me? Sure why not. She rang me up for $76!!! Sneaky little upsell. I told her to swap them back and the price can down like $15. They flipped that stupid iPad around and asked for a tip starting at 15% and going up to 30%! I'm not coming back
