I think the donuts here are delicious! The lady is very sweet. The only thing I didn't like was the security guard. He made me feel very uncomfortable. I didn't even know he was the security guard since he was underdressed and casual looking (long black t-shirt, jeans etc.) just looked like a customer himself. The only think he had that made him credible was a security hat but anyone can wear one. The man kept staring at me from the moment I parked and it was just so uncomfortable. He walked from the parking lot up to the donut shop and opened the door for me without saying a word and just stared..no smile or anything. He started walking back and forth outside of the donut shop and just kept staring at me. I had to ask the lady if he worked there because he was making me uncomfortable. She said he did work as security but a lot of people complain that they don't like the stares and opening the door for people. Come early, come often... for the donuts I mean. The best selection is before noon, especially since they have genuine croissants as well as a plethora of donut varieties. Just remember to bring cash. The owners, a wonderful family, are very gracious despite the location next to the last downtown liquor store, they are managing quite nicely. I love the colorful selection and years ago fired Starbucks after realizing how inferior their expensive apple fritters were compared to here. I mean wow! Fresh apples, great dough but 100x the sugar so I learned to split the attempt over two sessions. Lately, my favorite donuts are the blueberry ones. Humble but delicious. When the mood strikes their custard and creme filled options are par none! The coffee isn't half bad either and accompanies the donuts perfectly. We ordered two California bagel sandwiches from the "Our Favorites Menu" as well as 3 of the Mega Turkey bagel sandwich from the same said menu! I built a donut "cake" for my son's birthday and it was a total hit! (See pic) This is yet another family business struggling through the homeless crisis in SoCal. They acquired it in September 2018 and are doing a fantastic job at keeping the dining room clean and welcoming. There's parking spots literally right in front of the door so it's like, park, enter, purchase and jump back in your car. This was seriously one of the BEST spots I've been to! On top of that the couple is so freaking sweet. I was greeted immediately, I didn't have my glasses on and the wife helped me order.
