I was just a passer by in Amarillo and looking for my go-to morning coffee. The yelp reviews were deterring, yet this location was on my way. We noticed the drive thru to be wrapped around the building (probably a solid 10-12 cars). I know from my local busy Starbucks that drive-thru lines can be disheartening, so we went inside the lobby. There were 5-6 people waiting on orders and one person ahead of us. From order to receipt of order (including food items), less than 10 minutes. Y'all rock. This place is actually a pretty nice Starbucks. They're usually pretty fast and make my drinks perfectly. However, today they had a bunch of people working and I stood at the counter for several minutes and no one asked me for my order. Finally, when they did they didn't have the snacks I wanted which is a little irritating but I can get over it. At least the drink came out fast. read more

I'm not from the Amarillo area, but this Starbucks was convenient for us to drop by on our way from the Drury Inn to Canyon. It's easy to access right off of Soncy and get back on, always a plus. They made my drink perfectly on the first try, getting the cream right despite my measuring system that seems to befuddle some baristas. I didn't go in, but what I could see looked clean and well kept, and the exterior was clean and nice as well. read more

I will never go to this Starbucks again! My husband I were traveling through Amarillo yesterday afternoon and stopped at this store for just your basic cup of coffee, a nice pick me up to take with us on our way home. We frequent Starbucks several times a week and love their coffee. However, the coffee we had from this store was horrible! It tasted like it had been left over and had been sitting in the pot all day. That's my first complaint. Secondly, the store was filthy dirty!!! The condiment bar looked like no one had taken the time all day, or who knows, maybe longer than that, to clean it up or empty the trash. Trash was literally exploding over the top , spilled drink messes, splattered cream, sugar, and filth was covering the counter. Leaving the store, there's a little corner next to the door with many days of dead flies on the floor. Really??? My last complaint is about Starbucks unisex bathrooms. I hate using a bathroom that is generally disgusting! The one I used yesterday had pee on the floor and toilet rim. I never have that issue in a Women's only bathroom. read more

Terrible management. Manager cares little to none about the store and it's obvious in the lack of motivation in the baristas. This location is always out of stock of something. 100% guarantee everytime I go, something I want wasn't ordered or has run out. There's a horrible fly infestation along with a mouse that lives under the cold bar area. There is always something breaking (espresso bar, oven, etc) and management does nothing about it. The baristas are fun and hilarious but with all the bad management brings to the place it's hard for them to be their best. This is a SUPER busy Starbucks. The drive thru line is usually wrapped around the building and the lobby is always overran. I can't be too mad that the tables are dirty and the floors aren't swept because it always seems like it's all hands on decks trying to keep up with drink orders and customers. They are clearly understaffed. And that seems to be the trend with all of the Starbucks in town. They could always use a few extra employees to make things operate better and to at least keep an eye on their lobby and bathrooms. read more

This is definitely a high volume store. There was a rush when I stopped in(this is like the first Starbucks in forever if you're getting off the highway, AND it's in the middle of a shopping center.) The rush was slightly overwhelming, a few orders ahead of mine got a little mixed up. One lady was SUPER rude to the barista named Elena about something that was not even Elena's fault and she handled it very kindly and fixed her problem right away. I think the barista on the cashier(who was either new or overwhelmed) forgot to get my sandwich. I went up to the counter to ask about it and immediately a couple different baristas helped me. I think they could maybe use more staff in the floor, but they were working very hard to make everything right in a crazy rush. The staff does not acknowledge you and you have to ask for your items. 3 times I had to leave without my coffee & breakfast in order not to be late for work. Ordered 2 venti Fran's and they had the wrong order at the window. Corrected and charged for two venti, waited about 5 minutes and received drinks, but shorted each drink by 1.5 inches from the brim. Make no mistake it wasn't dirty, it was filthy, there just isn't another word to describe it. Stores can get busy and stuff happens which is understandable, and I wound t comment, but you can tell when things have been ignored for too long and that was certainly the case on 08-17-16. No wifi @ home because you make minimum wage and can't afford it? Starbucks on Soncy is the place to be. Upon pulling up the wifi options at this Starbucks for Internet usage, I am greeted by a one of a kind "Google trending" page w/ very sleek ads and popular topics on the Internet. It's so nice having graceful companies like Google keeping me up to date on what's good for me and what's not. There's always a poll option to the likes of: "What's your favorite after work activity: option 1 - surfing the Internet via Google option 2 - watching videos on YouTube or Google Play" After I've expelled 22 minutes (my daily average, timed) on that inevitable pop up for Starbucks Internet usage, I find it only necessary to use Google as my key search engine and YouTube for fun how-tos, music, and cat videos alike... I think it's safe to say that Google and Starbucks are my new best friends because they have given me direction, and resources in this difficult world. It's nice to know that these mega corporations are invested in my well being, and will treat this American cordially. Thank you. read more

I was extremely disappointed today when I visited this store. The drive through line was extremely long so I decided to go inside. There was no line and I ordered right away. A lady that came in after me and had ordered via mobile phone inquired about her order to be told by the barista "we're short staffed, so it's taking us a while". I only venture into this particular location of Starbucks out of sheer desperation. I always get annoyed at this one. EVERY TIME! Here is my latest experience: I waited approximately 2 minutes at the register just to be acknowledged while the staff all joked with each other. I heard them discussing their schedules, etc. Did I mention there was no one in front of me? While waiting, I amused myself by watching the collection of flies flying in their pastry cabinet. So gross! Finally my order was taken only to find out they were out of White Chocolate Mocha. Ugh! I ordered a different drink as I have several that I like. Then I waited for my drink. And waited. And waited. I had a book with me. After I read a whole chapter, the barista asked me what I was waiting for. I repeated my drink order. He said, "Well, you're not in a rush are you?" Seriously!??? I kept my calm. Then I read another chapter. I noticed other people were walking away with their drinks that had ordered after me. I inquired as to the status of my drink. A different barista replied that it would be out soon. So after waiting 10 minutes (quite literally 10 minutes) I received my caramel macchiato which failed to satisfy me as it tasted like a plain latte. I refrained from complaining as I didn't feel like getting any more irritated in waiting another 10 minutes. Every time I wonder why I ever come back to this Starbucks. Someday I'll learn it is worth the extra few miles to go to my favorite location on Grand. read more

This is without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever seen in a Starbucks. The crew was more interested in handling the drive-thru than the customers standing in line right in front of their faces in the store. When it was finally my turn, the cashier disappeared for at least three minutes and other employees played the no-eye-contact hand. After I was finally acknowledged and placed my order, it was another 6 minutes before I got my drinks - and I was handed ONE of the two drinks I ordered. The second drink was sitting on the back counter right next to the employee who made it who was now working on a different order. Horrible customer service. Placed a mobile order for a cold brew and a pastry, so not a difficult order at all. Waited in store for twenty minutes after I arrived before the drink was finally made. Had to wait an additional five minutes for the pastry. Only one barista was actually making drinks while the other employees slowly restocked cups and whatnot behind him. This place sucked! I'm currently relocating from Hawaii and went in to use the restroom, my husband was going in to order after me since he had our dog. I asked if I needed a key and one of the 2 rude blonde girls laughs at me and states there is no key, so I go inside. When I came out, she sarcastically asks me if it was locked and laughs. I tell her, I'm sorry but I'm traveling from Hawaii and in Hawaii they all have keys, she says, seriously? I say yes and leave. My husband walks in and the whole time the 2 blondes making his coffee are sitting there talking bad about me, making fun of me saying, as if she's from Hawaii, she's such a liar, anyway how long did she drive across the ocean? And laughs. Among other things. My husband had enough and says, "well, actually, it takes 2 weeks to ship a car, 5 1/2 hours on a plane to get to LA, a 30 min cab ride to long beach to get your car, and 1100 mile drive from California to Amarillo Texas Starbucks without sleep to get coffee from people like you, Aloha" The girls felt shame and walked away. My 20 year old son was so mad that he took off his shirt with his Hawaiian islands tattoo and walked in, they hung their heads. What a great example your employees lead! Really? I have so much to say, but I'll just stay humble and say shame on you! I shouldn't even give 1 star! People with no Aloha! I hope the manager reviews this!
