Halfway decent service ended in horrible service. I came in for a simple coffee .....one I make better at home, and now I remember why. I spent almost $10 to be told, "we don't rinse out your cup." There was a little leftover water at the bottom, so I politely asked if someone could dump it out. The cashier kindly did, and I appreciated that. Then my drink wasn't hot or sweet enough. I let the temperature go, but asked politely if I could get another shot of sugar-free vanilla. The young barista with long blond, slightly blue-tinted hair turned to me with the nastiest scowl -- as if I'd asked for her firstborn. In a sharp, condescending tone she snapped, "What?" I calmly repeated my request. She grudgingly added the syrup, and then, with mock cheer, said, "Have a great day." The sarcasm was thick. I guess this is what passes for "great service" now. I've visited this Starbucks a few times in the past few weeks. It's between my work and home and near one of my favorite bookshops in the city. I don't think I've ever given a Starbucks more than three stars (aren't they all the same usually?), but this one has some special features. It's big and bright and has some great indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a Starbucks that I could sit and read a book at during the fall months when it's nice out. Might be the nicest Starbucks in the city. Great location. read more

The staff what was working the morning shift on 7/24 at 9:00, was the most gracious and sweetest staff of people I've met. As soon as I walked in the door they said Good morning, not just one person but multiple. They had a smile on their face. I have a slightly complicated order and when one team me ever could not figure it out on the screen the other team member came to help and said they would take care of it and was so attentive and kind. They were so sweet and asked to come back again. Seriously whoever this shift team members were, all that kindness just made my day. Thank you! read more

I am a Starbucks Extraordinar and this location is my all time favorite! I've visited many many locations nationwide and this location continues to be most friendly and has NEVER messed up my order. They provide the best beverage recommendations and continue to be very knowledgeable about all menu items... new and old! Another enjoyable asset of this Starbucks is the lack of turnover w staff. I see the same faces daily. The Barista's are precise, quick, efficient and customer service oriented. Only downfall is the super crowded parking lot and lack of spaces. They share a parking lot w a bank, animal groomer, bakery, pharmacy, wine shop and... Whole Foods. Three Words... CHELSEA for PRESIDENT!!!! LOL so I am currently on a Starbucks tour. I travel and go to different starbucks and order a Carmel Crunch Frappuccino with extra caramel. I like to see which coffee artist can make me the best drink. So far Chelsea was the BEST one. Upon arrival there was no line. There was an older lady at the register that rung me up. But before Chelsea made my drink she asked me if I wanted Caramel at the bottom. YES MAM!!! I want it all over. She was the nicest Starbuck Barista that I have ever met in my life. My drink was amazing... Not only because she made it with extra extra caramel how I like it but also because she made it with LOVE... Going to Starbucks sometimes can really be a chore. The workers are tired from the long lines and standing on their feet. The customers are rude and cranky because they didn't have their coffee yet but I had an amazing experience because of Chelsea... The franchise itself is great, but I probably won't return because of the location. It is located on a small property next to a Whole Foods, a wine store, and a couple of other businesses. The parking lot is too small for all the business on the property and it is just difficult to get in and out. There are too many other franchises in the city for me to return to this one. read more

Went in today to pick up my $20 mobile off=def. I asked for some of the round stickers to put on the lid holes. The barista, instead of giving me the sheet of stickers, peeled off three of them and stuck them on her fingertips expecting me to take them. I was so grossed out - where do they find these people? I've been to a lot of Starbucks, but this one may be my favorite. It's located in a really charming, upscale shopping center, where the old brick buildings (like this and the Whole Foods right next door), have been adapted into retail venues. I've been to larger Starbucks, but few have the charm of this one, with it's high ceiling, brick walls, and over-all industrial look. The one disappointment is that It doesn't have quite as much seating as some of the larger ones I've been to, but there is a semi-courtyard outside with more tables. It's really easy to get to from Interstate 83, which is always nice if you live in PA, and would like to stop by on the way to/from Baltimore. read more

Usually I am so happy with my service at the Mount Washington Starbucks, I'm there nearly every day and the usual baristas are so friendly and helpful. However, lately there is a new male barista that is so slow when it comes to making the drinks and when I asked him to make mine with less cream (it was practically white) he told me it was my fault because I should have specified in my order that I wanted light cream. Since then I have ordered it twice with light cream and then continued to have white iced coffee with barely any coffee. I don't know how this guy doesn't raise alarm bells for anyone else but he's really been putting a damper on my morning trips to the bucks. Hopefully some of the other amazing staff can steer this guy in the right direction or keep him on the register!! read more

Had a horrible experience at this Starbucks next to the Wegmans in Mt. Washington. Ordered a Vanilla Cold Brew. Thought it would take like 5 minutes at the most with 4 people waiting ahead of me. Took almost 15 minutes because apparently all the people who order via the mobile app gets preference over in person paying customers. The manager wasn't helpful. Don't ever go to this Starbucks. I would rather get coffee at the DD before coming here. read more

Absolutely horrible! Purchased a drink, a pastry, and a lb. of coffee that they had to grind. They forgot to give me the coffee. I got all the way home only to realize that they never gave it to me. I returned and asked for the coffee, with a smile. But when they made comments, chuckling, about when I might show up and then not once apologizing, but instead stating that I should be glad it was still there.. that pretty much closed the deal for me. I will never return to this Starbucks. The employees are feeling a bit too entitled and lack social graces and professionalism. I mean who doesn't simply say 'I'm sorry'? The kind of people who think it takes away some weird power from them..this is who. I thought everyone wanted to work, wanted a wage increase. Or at least this is what I hear on the news. And p.s. I love this Starbucks, it is one of my favorite places to study. The atmosphere is nice and friendly, and there are ALWAYS people studying or doing work- the only downfall to this is if you don't get a seat along the wall you don't get an outlet and they are pretty much always full. Also, there are only two speakers (I think) so if you get the seats underneath them it can be kind of loud. But the tall ceilings and exposed brick make the atmosphere really great. Also, if you get hungry the whole foods next door is really convenient and if you need a break there is a really beautiful creek outside. read more

It's Sbux, the ubiquitous. No surprises about what one will find here. Kind of. I order ahead on my phone via the app, which is the way to go, as this is a busy location. Downside: they don't seem to carry some if the new beverages. I've only managed to get the coconut milk latte once. It's not like there isn't enough storage... his place is huge! Couldn't get a Teavana either. But it has fabulous air conditioning, which I don't have at my house. read more

My favorite Starbucks in Maryland... seriously it really is. They are friendly, they make you feel like a true guest:) Sue remembered my name after coming in a couple of times. Coffee is constantly great. No matter how slow or busy they are, the service is great every single time I'm here. My only complaint is they are further away from my house. Oh no! I was a regular at this Starbucks location but after today I don't plan on returning. Usually when I order an iced coffee the service is friendly and quick, since the coffee need only be poured. However, I noticed this morning that it took a few minutes before my drink was ready. I didn't think anything of it, until I SAW AN INCH-LONG COCKROACH FLOATING IN MY DRINK. Apparently the barista knowingly/intentionally served me a cockroach drink. I don't know what's more repulsive: the idea that they'd employ someone so malicious and disgusting in food service, or the idea that the shop is so filthy that it's vaguely plausible that a beetle of that size snuck into my drink. Either way, it is way too gross to risk a return trip. read more

EPIC FAIL. Sad to say, but out of all the Starbucks we visit on a regular basis, the customer service at this location is the worst I've ever encountered at any Starbucks. Our family has been gold status for years and spends a few grand a year at Starbucks. Holly refused to refill a venti iced green tea, as I request a splash of berry hibiscus instead of water and sweetener. I'm pretty certain that at a cost of 4 bucks for an iced green tea, the swap of BHR in place of the h2o and sweetener is the same few pennies. So long Starbucks. The ambiance at this Starbucks is the antithesis of a chain store. It is located in a cute old factory style area and it has higher ceilings than other local coffee shops. The baristas are by far kinder than the ones downtown. I would just recommend avoiding the bathroom which is usually pretty unkempt. Overall, it is a great spot to study or meet a friend. read more

Nice atmosphere. The patio is wonderful. The drinks not so much. Somehow the baristas keep changing and the drinks are hit or miss.

They rearranged the seating again (it's been around for 20 years, they had tables and chairs for 4 people!) great if you love communal tables, high bistro seats and useless next-to-wall tables for 2 (ok, one) and enjoy sitting around folks staring at laptops. Ok: PLUSSES great staff and outdoor seating, unisex bathrooms and general ambiance. Sometimes the music is loud but the ceiling offers loud acoustics. My two cents. I like it, personally. read more
